Hello all,
So some news for the Ryman dates that are coming up on Nov 21st and 25th with Terri Clark. For those of you who were planning on coming out to see me back up Terri Clark at the original Grand Ole Opry, the band and I will no longer be playing on those dates. The decision has been made to do the shows acoustically as a trio with Jenee' Fleenor, Anita Cochran, and Terri. Certainly this will be a great show to see, so I highly recommend you go; Terri is awesome with or without band! But if you were expecting to see me and the rest of the band backing her up, that will not be happening for those particular shows. If something changes I will certainly let everyone know, but keep checking www.terriclark.com for more full band shows to come. She has a great band that I'm proud to be a part of and I'm looking forward to seeing you all out sometime in the near future! Thanks to all of you for the continuous support for Terri Clark, the other projects that I'm fortunate to be a part of, and of course, my own solo project. It means the world to me and, believe me, there is much more to come! Thanks!
Mark

Current mood:  determined
Ok, so I've never done a blog and figured "why not". I've been kind of off radar for a bit, so I thought I would do a blog and let folks know what I've been up to.

"Off radar" of course is only in the social sense.  I've been playing a lot lately, both for my project and for various talented artists that I've been fortunate to hook up with.  I've also been a studio rat.  I've been singing demos, backgrounds, writing, recording and mixing several different projects, even one for WWE wrestler, Maria Kanellis.  Everything has been turning out great!  My apologies to those who I haven't been able to hang out with or haven't seen in a while.  This year I'm going to be making some changes so that I can better spend my time both with the people I love and on my solo project.

So, for the solo project, I've been working in the studio a lot lately on new tracks.  Because of that, I've kept my solo shows at a minimum. But I will start booking again very soon.  I promise a lot of new material and a bit of a different sound.  The new tracks are turning out great.  I've been working with producers Doug Sisemore, bandleader for Reba McEntire, and Dale Oliver, co-producer of Bucky Covington, Sawyer Brown, Blackhawk, etc.  The new songs are a mixture of self-written and publisher songs, some of which were written by Dale and his co-writers.  We've put a lot of thought and experimentation into the sound to create something that is very unique, a little "more me".  Hopefully they will be done relatively soon. I'll keep you all posted on how things are going.

So until then, I have occassional solo shows coming up and will add more as I get closer to finishing.  I'm also playing guitar and singing backup for several of my friends, Jessica Rae, Beth Cayhall, Shannon Cain, and Clay Underwood among others.  Thank you all for all your kind words of support and keep your fingers crossed for the new recordings.  It's been a lot of hard work but I know it will all be worth it.  See you soon!
