The most exciting news this week is that I have been on a
particular website called Sellaband. It is a site aimed at artists who
are looking for fans to become investors in their upcoming album, and
thereby help FUND my next album.
Well, I have been the #1 artist on the site for some months now,
and on Monday 17th August, together with my fans, we raised
the USD$50,000 need for me to record my next album!
So...what happens now?
First of all they will assign an A&R manager to my project.
Together with him/her I will choose the producer I want to work with
and the studio I want to record in. I will have an A&R manager
for the recording process. He or she will control the recording budget
and will be the contact between the producers and studios. Adam Sieff
(head of A&R) will be in contact soon to start brainstorming about
the album and he will appoint an A&R representative to my project.
When the album is finished it will be distributed physically and digitally.
There are several distribution deals and are constantly trying to add more distribution points.
For physical distribution Sellaband have partnerships in German speaking countries through
www.Amazon.de and in the United Kingdom through
www.Amazon.co.uk.
They will also release my physical album on SellaBand.com
Digitally they have a worldwide deal with the Orchard. They
will distribute the album to all major digital stores in the world like
iTunes, eMusic, Napster, etc.
Amiestreet.com is another distribution point where your album will be available.
So ...these are pretty exciting times, and think not only
would it give encouragement to other bands looking for investors to
help fund their album, but it is also one of still chasing dreams...
My fans believe in me and my music and they have encouraged me by becoming the 34th artist to reach $50K on Sellaband.
