Current mood: crunk
So there have been a few Rap beefs on our local scene lately here in Little Rock. I must say that i am quite impressed not only by the quality of the diss records but the fact that they have remained on wax. Me personally, i love the rap beef, especially when its just on records. Im always anticipating a response from whoever's turn it is to fire back. Alot of folks are not into diss records and say that its killing the game but i beg to differ. True enough there are no major label rap artists (well at least not currently) in Little Rock, and true no one has made huge sums (a few have made some G's, me included) but isnt it still in the essence of the game to battle. I love it. I like that battle rap shit, you win some, you lose some. It keeps you on your toes!! I love it when fools get exposed for not being real to the shit they talk about. Seems that some fool who's name i wont say has decided to start a lil something with yours truly! I welcome the challenge mainly because no one wants it with me!! Ive shot a few slugs in the past and even called a few names but these cats are scared to respond. Anyway dude (who's only hit song was a song he stole from me) is in his feelings and decided to leave voice messages challenging my crew!! Cant wait to Krush his ass, but i will sit back and let him get off his shots. He told me to get ready cause he was coming for me and he was bout to drop something. Its funny too me because he should've come at me when he was on top of his game, but he's like 36, washed up and not relevant anymore around here. Some of ya'll know who im talking about already and im gonna make sure he never pics up the mic again. Thats my word!! Anyway, i'll continue to do me until i hear something. Hopefully he takes it to Hot 96.5 so the whole state can hear him, and i can dead his career during prime-time radio! I'll keep you posted

I believe that rappers have a dominant influence on young people today and we need to be more responsible for the things that we say and portray. No I dont think its our job to raise people's children but since we make such an impression on them, its our duty to at least contemplate the damage that our lyrical content and lyrical suggestions have on youth culture. I accept that blame, and I am more than guilty of saturating the music with violent and sexually demeaning lyrics. I remember when I was younger, I just had too have the shoes and clothes that the top rappers wore. I wanted the gold ropes like Slick Rick, the cars, the women, and the money to go along with it. If a rapper said "I dont love them hoes", we'll hey, I adopted that sentiment and I didnt give love to no hoes!(good girls included) If Master P said ride down on them fools that smoked yo hommie, then we got high and rode down on fools! Im not blaming the rappers because they didnt come pick me up and say lets go do this, I did that shit because I wanted too, but the motivation factor was usually the rap music that said "since we thugs and from a gang culture" (Little Rock, AR) this is the only acceptable and Real way to handle that shit. I go to church on Sundays and the preacher say clap yah hands and sing this song, and Im like uhh I dont know. But if a rapper say throw yah hands up and put yah middle fingers in the air, then im the first fool doin it!! Now thats what I call influence!!! Lets stop denying it MC's!!! Im not saying change yah style and get right this instance, just consider what effect its having on very impressionable youngstas. I know because I was one of them. I was also blessed with the understanding that what artists portray on wax is not what they really really live like in their life. A rapper will tell you shoot, sell dope, and be a thug but he's living in a mansion far removed from the hood. They aint even out here in the streets but their images influence what we perceive to be Hood, or Real!! Im still trying to incorporate some good clean messages without watering down my music, so Im a work in progress! I think all you other rappers should give it a shot as well. It is our Responsibility!!!!!!!!!
