The Star Club is proud to announce this wednesday July 23rd during our regular jam session celebrated blues guitarist Curtis Anderson (Guitar Curtis) will be in the house. Curtis has performed many venues in his career which spans 5 decades. He performed at the early San Francisco Blues Festivals in the 70..s and 80..s. shared the stage and same record lable as Buddy Guy and has toured throughout United States and Europe. Curtis will turn 77 on thursday so we thought what a better way to honor one of our own by helping him celebrate. Curtis is battling cancer right now and his prognoises is good so we hope to have him around for many more shows. Curtis moved to the Merced area in 1994 from the bay area and bought himself a little ranch outside merced that he calls home now and we are pleased to have him in our community. We have rumor that some of his old friends from up north will be in town to help us spred the joy so please help us out by comming down and showing a legendary Bluesman some love. There will be a potluck diner so if you can cook and want to bring a dish it will be highly appreciated. music starts at 8 and runs til when ever they chase us off . We surely hope to see everyone for what promises to be a night of great blues and a damn good time!

Sept 30 Sun. Special event. Live recording session with Cynthia Huddleston & The Juke Joint Jokers, formaly Whiskey Low Band and some special guests was off the hook! The place was packed and the party roared all day as the many talented players just rocked the house. Cynthia Huddlestons vocals along side her Juke Joint Jokers rythms just captured the crowds attention for the first set. The second set with Gary and Ron Kyne blazing some SRV tunes showed their multi-talented skills are not limited to the blues, the third set seen The Alan Hall Blues Band bring in the brass as Harry Cambell on the sax and Timbone on the trombone displayed their horn section talents to an aroused crowd that showed they liked them horns. Alan, Joel, Buddy & Mike pushed the grove to another level behind the drive of the horns, was indeed a great day of music @ The Star Club. check out the pitcure section for some photos of the show, don`t be afraid to leave us a comment. Oh, I almost forgot to thank all the cooks who contributed their cullinary skills to this event, the food was awsome!! So lets sum this up, good food, good music, good folks, what a day!

This was amoungst a memorandum issued by The California State Dept. Of Corrections to all employees because of the miles they drive on a daily basis, just wanted to pass it on.
