Current mood:  annoyed
It would appear that most people hate making and keeping appointments, esp. when it comes to getting tattooed.    They want there tattoo the second it pops into their heads, and not a second later.

Here is why that sucks....  If you can actually get into a chair to get worked on in a walk-in basis, you are giving your artist zero time to work on your design. "So what?  you're an artist", you may be saying to yourself.   think about this...most of the worlds greatest pieces of art where sketched, drawn, re-drawn, and tinkered with for YEARS before the brush ever met canvas.   the best tattoos are the same way.  sure....every once in a great while you'll get something really cool off the cuff, but, it could have been even better had you given your artist time to work on it.

Ok...you get the point, make an appointment.   This usually comes with having to give a deposit.   No problem right?  yea...I wish.   SOOO many people want to see what I'm going to draw for them before putting money down. Drawing for me is what we in the real world call work.  I go there every day and draw/tattoo.  What iyou saying that tells me is that you think I may not be capable of pulling off what you have in mind.   Do you really think I would be here, doing this for a living, everyday...if I sucked at it?   You can clearly see the quality of my work in my portfolio....chances are, thats pretty close to how your tattoo is going to look, maybe better if I've recently learned a new trick or two.

Deposit down, appointment in 3 weeks.   Now all you have to do is show up.  sure, I'd love to get you in this week, but I have 15 drawings to do, 20 tattoos, a trip overseas to plan, pack for, go on, tattoo like a mad man on people that don't speak my language, unpack from, etc.   Life is all about patience, and in order for you to get the best quality tattoo possible, you have to have some of it.   i've lost more tattoos then I can think of because I was busy working on someone else.  Do you know what happened to those people?  they got shitty looking tattoos from some hack with no experiance who got them in that day, because they didn't have any patience. Is that always the case? no...I have plenty of clients who never show up, leaving me time to catch up on some backburnered work, and possibly get you in for "the smallest possible tattoo".

the moral of the story is this: tattoo artists live busy, stressfull, hectic lives.  there is no eraser in this business, no back button...once it's done, it's done.   Have some patience, put down a deposit, be patient, sit down, sit still, STFU, and get tattooed.

Leave tattoo bandaged for 1(one) to 5 hours

After 1(one) hour remove bandage and wash tattoo with COLD soapy water.   Use only NON-SCENTED basic hand soap (DIAL) and your hand.

Pat dry using a clean dry towel

Allow tattoo to air dry for 1/2 hour

Apply a paper thin coat of A&D

Repeat 4-5 times daily for 2-3 days

When tattoo starts to feel "tight" or dry switch to appling  thin coats of cocoa butter (Palmers in the stick works awesome!!).

Keep tattoo moisturized for entire healing period.  Re-apply Cocoa butter whenever tattoo looks or feels dry.  This can be every hour for some to every fifteen minutes for others, and can change throught the healing process.  ALWAYS keep cocoa butter in your posession

If swelling occurs:  use ice packs, ibuprohen, and keep elevated

DO:

Keep your tattoo moisturized

Shower regularly

wear clean laundry

tip your artist

Put down fresh sheets the day of your new tattoo

DO NOT:

Smoother tattoo with tight fitting clothing. This includes deninum, bra straps elastic bands, or anyother tight fitting clothing

Use neosporin, bacitraticin, or other first aid ointments

Allow crazed monkeys to throw feces at fresh tattoo

Pick, Scratch, or Dig at your new tattoo

Submerge  tattoo in water of any sort. (regular showers are fine and incorarged, I can't say this enough!)

Re-bandage tattoo, unless otherwise instructed.  This may depend on your line of work

_________________________________________________________

Some may experiance moderate to heavy weeping.  If this occurs, wash tattoo with cold soapy water.   If weeping occurs shortly after applying A&D blot with clean paper towels and allow to dry.   re-apply cocoa butter in a few hours time.

,by far is not the only method of healing your tattoo....this is simply what I tell my clients.

Please feel free to ask any questions you might have.

I know my spelling sucks, thanks for noticing :)

Category: Life

It is VERY important with any new tattoo or piercing to not touch it with unwashed hands or to allow contact from others, for the first two weeks. This is the first thing I see most people do. It is the #1 cause of infection.

All piercings:

1: You must buy the proper aftercare products.  It may be possible to purchase them from you piercer. They may not carry the items you will need so a stop at the local grocery store will be necessary.

     -You will need:

       a: Natural non-iodized Sea Salt

       b: Non-alcoholic mouthwash (ie: Biotine)

       c: Saline Solution

2: All care should be performed previous to showers and other regular hygiene routines (ie: brushing teeth)

3: All instructioned care must be completed twice daily for the period of two weeks

For Non-Oral Piercings:

1: while showering remove any "crusties" that may be present. Do Not rotate or spin jewelery. Rinse  throughly after showering. (scented or otherwise fancy soaps my also cause irritation)

2: After showering: Mix 1tbl spoon of sea salt to 4oz of water (about 1 coffee cup)

3: Dip clean paper towel into solution

4: Apply light pressure to piercing area with damp paper towel.

5: repeat 2x

Depending on the placement of your new piercing (navel, nipple, nape) it may be necessary to take extra precautions when choosing clothing, as well as when dressing. Many times a new piercing can get caught on clothing while healing. avoid clothes that my rub on, or otherwise make a new piercing uncomfortable. If your piercing does get caught and rips slightly, apply a sea salt solution, or if unavailable, use saline solution directly.

if irritation or redness does not subside within two weeks, please contact your piercer!

For Oral Piercings:

1: Mix 1 part mouthwash to 1 part water. rinse mouth after eating, drinking. or smoking of anything other than water. Saline Solution can also be used

2: After brushing teeth, rinse with diluted mouth wash

3: Mix 1tbl spoon of Natural Non-Iodized Sea Salt to 4oz of warm water.  gargle with this solution for 45sec. twice daily.

Avoid contact with others for 2 weeks. No Kissing, Oral sex, or beer for the first two weeks. Because of it's high yeast content beer my cause irritation to any oral piercing at any time. if such irritation arises return to initial care procedures. if irritation worsens, contact your piercer for further instructions.

Following these instructions to the letter will help to insure a healthy healing period for your new piercing

if you have any problems, concerns or questions, contact me here, at the  shop .
