WTLM or Welcome to the Last Millennium are a European band from Geneva city Switzerland. This is the first album by these guys with the band playing shows and working on the album since 2004.

WTLM really shows us that the punk rockers and Switzerland really can rock! The album covers a broad spectrum of music styles, from stright up anthem punk rock to Ska to even hip hop. The majority of the songs are in English with 1 song in Swedish.

This album is a blast to listen too, it's fun, fast at times and then cools down and speeds up when you least expect it. This album has a little bit for everyone. Even though the band switches between different "styles" of music they do it very well. The songs that switch from hard packing punk rock to ska has great progression between them with the band bringing a similar sound into each song, which sounds strange but it really makes the album really enjoyable to listen to.

W.T.L.M-HARD FOR LIFE-CORE FOR STYLE(CD-RIOT RATS RECORDS TCR 013) Another group which I have got contact with via My Space and I´m happy for all these contacts. This group starts out with a very calm song and it feels like if they´re building up the whole record here with this song. Sure it comes some fuck here and there in the song but otherwise it´s really calm. A little bit surprised am I when then singer sings his first line then because it´s almost a little bit of deathmetalvocals  over his voice and a little bit disappointed am I. Sure it swings really good but I want to have some more melody over the music. Welcome to the Last Millenium they´re called and it´s almost that way it feels when they´re doing their doomsdaymusic.(SIX) 31/10-07

W.T.L.M-HARD FOR LIFE-CORE FOR STYLE(CD-RIOT RATS RECORDS TCR 013) Ännu en grupp jag fått kontakt med via My Space och jag är glad för alla dessa kontakter. Den här gruppen börjar med en mycket lugn låt och det känns som om de bygger upp stämningen inför skivan med denna låt. Visst dyker det upp några fuck här och där i låten men låten är annars ganska lugn. Lite överraskad blir jag när sångaren klämmer i för det är nästan lite deathmetalsång över hans insats och lite besviken blir jag allt. Visst det svänger bra men jag skulle nog vilja ha lite melodikänsla över musiken. Welcome to the Last Millennium heter ju gruppen och det är nästan så det känns när de kör sin domedagsmusik.(SEX) 31/10-07

Voici la première chronique de "Hard for life Core for style" sur le webzine français musik industry. Merci Matti!

Here's the first review of our first album "Hard for life Core for style" for the french webzine musik industry. Thx Matti!

Mieux vaut tard que jamais, voilà un titre qui aurait pu être retenu pour ce disque. Enregistré en 2004 et 2005 déjà, Hard For Life, Core For Style a en effet mis du temps à sortir. Premier album full-length du groupe genevois W.T.L.M. (Welcome To the Last Millenium), son long temps de gestation, lui a permis de bénéficier d'un joli artwork. Côté musique, au vu des prestations scéniques pas toujours consistantes de W.T.L.M., entendre les versions enregistrées au Wood Studio de Stéphane Kroug et masterisées par Alan Douches, devient une expérience assez bluffante (« Cold Black Sky », « And the Evil Will Win »).

Leurs qualités en matière de composition est indéniable, et ceci est valable pour à peu près tous les titres du disque, des acoustiques « Until I Fall » et « Bonus Track », en passant par la hiphop « Sell Dope To Da Kids ». Certes, ni la cohésion entre les morceaux, ni le souci des finitions ne semble intéresser réellement le combo punk/hardcore helvétique. Tant mieux peut-être, car il en résulte un esprit DIY, un album punk à l'ancienne dans lequel on trouve du Choking Victim, du F-Minus, du vieux Rancid, du hard, du core, du sax, des samples, du rap et du scratch. Malgré l'hétérogénéité de la galette, Hard For Life, Core For Style est une vraie bonne surprise, bien loin des prods formatées et ripolinées qui pullulent jusque dans les bacs des disquaires indés.
