The debate continues. Fundamentalist Christians vs. Science, Intelligent Design on the sidelines... I think its all shit. Archeological, anthropological, historical, geological, biological, and chemical discoveries and research could not be overlooked when asking whether or not the world is a few thousand years old as bible historians suggest. We have to discount that claim. Secondly, there is nothing to suggest that the Bing Bang theory and Creation aren't the same thing! If one is spiritual, it should be clear that there is a creator. Now whether or how much you want to anthropomorphize God, it's your perogative. But we musn't overlook the complex perfectness of the world. The geometry of the universe, from galaxies, solar systems, planets, to intelligent organisms, cells, molecules, atoms, sub-particles. The divine ratio, that is the yard-stick of nature, the definer of true beauty. Too many coincedences to ignore the superior design of it all. Now imagine creation as a long (by human standards) process that was spawn of purpose, and then the child was allowed to grow. Our direction set, though free to carve our own path. Therefore the scientific aspect of the evolutionary theory (which speaks nothing of creation) should be seen as a description of how God has set things up to progress. Are we so blind to believe that the poetry of Abrahimic mythologists from a few thousand years ago is absolute truth? It is ART meant to INSPIRE!

On my very first blog entry, I would like to take a moment to think about all the implecations of this particular technology. Now, I am unrestrained from the typed styles like essay, journalistic, dissertation, literature... With blogging, language seems more relaxed. In some ways, this electronic writing medium is allowing us to embrace our native oral cultures, imbedded in all our minds. Discourse is open, free, familiar. Language, words are again in our control. Journalism may forever be altered by similar mediums as this. Think of how many structural failsafes we bypass here. REAL news could for once be propagated. Which opens up questions of validity, however that question is quickly answered. Internal validity will emerge with widened access, and when peer evaluation goes completely digital. When I hit post, someone hlafway across the world has privelege to access this 'document'. Imagine the comfort of a true big-little world. Instead of land continents, think of continents of ideas (Thomas, R. 2005). We will have access to so much information, that our kids will laugh that once we used to search to get it. Soon information that is useful in our personal contexts will be AUTOMATICALLY available to us anywhere, any time. However, the downside is that sometimes access is limited to the priveleged. While most are restricted to Google right now, others with more access can touch countless more information by the keystoke. Take heed, and be a part of it. - wintermute
