It's almost a matter of time before our new myspace page is up and running.  Yes, it's no longer the Lori Steele project (thank GOD!).  Not that I don't like the music or playing out, but it's just so weird to always go, "Hey, I'm Lori Steele and this is well...Lori Steele...and oh this little mexican dude over here?  Ah, pay him no mind.  He just plays guitar and looks up at me for cues."  THAT part blows, cause Alberto is a big deal to me and to the whole project so we are finally a new band!

We had an amazing photoshoot last week and are now just working on getting our full page up and running before we ask you to switch on over :-)

This page, will then be sort of my personal page.  So if you don't want Alberto to know anything, just wait a week or two and then e-mail me here.  On our new page, nothing will be private between the two of us!

So, here's to launching a new gig ANNNNNDDDD if any of you know how the hell to FORMAT a facebook band page please contact me.  I have the basics, no prob.  Even got our on url, but geting the tabs to do what I want?  HELL.  HELL I TELL YOU HEEEEEEELLLLLLLLL!!!

I can't freaking believe that it's Thanksgiving next week! Where did this month (or this year for that matter) go?

Albert and I were hoping to book a show this past week but ended up working on our songs each night trying to get a final mix. Last night we came up with some amazing things and then realized we need to do a musical bridge...so another 6 hours or so of laying down three measures of bass, drums, guitars, but it'll be worth it. I can't WAIT to have new songs on line. It's been over a year with the same from the EP up and I want people to hear our new stuff that we're so excited about.

We are also going to start working on a song for the HILARIOUS show Chris & John on Out TV. If you haven't seen them yet you HAVE to check it out. I almost peed in my pants when I watched the Fag Hag episode.

Okay, I'm headed out to celebrate with my friend tonight because I'm SO PROUD of her for playing live on the radio today (dollmusic in my top friends if you're so inclined). Then working on the songs tomorrow and fingers crossed we have THIS TIME to post on Monday!!!

With Halloween a few days away we've been gearing up for our freaking costumes. Just yesterday I was at the big Cinema Secrets store in Toluca Lake and I couldn't help but notice that there were hundreds of slutty costumes...Whorey Snow White, Naughty Nurse, Pop My Cherry Princess, Give It To Me Goth Fairy...and I thought, "Wow..."

Isn't Halloween a time to have fun with costumes? Go nuts? In Los Angeles it seems like it's just another opportunity to not wear much and put on 4 inch platform boots. How many WonderBra Wonder Women does one town need?

Anyhoo...I think Alberto is going to go for US Citizen or maybe the Arclight Cinema guy. I'm going for a murdered Prom Princess. Eaten out spots in my face, bloody gash in my neck. Who knows, maybe I'll give into the LA peer pressure and have my prom dress partly ripped off.

Today has got to be one of the most difficult days in my life. Divorce, rape, eating disorders, betrayal, and such...all of that I have been through, but losing my best friend tops all of them COMBINED.

My baby, Sassy, who I got in high school has been with me through everything and I had to let her go today. I tried to be strong for her. Let her know she was loved. Cuddle her. Calm her. Love her. And while she was laying in her favorite spot in the garden and the vet said those words, "She's gone" I lost it. I screamed and screamed and cried!! Never have I felt this sort of pain before!!!!

People can do all sorts of things to us and we can hurt ourselves by our actions and thoughts, but an animal loves you unconditionally. How can I stop her pain. How can I get over the loss of someone who has been by my side, cuddled me, loved me, looked at me, needed me...I don't know if I'm strong enough to get through this. It hurts so badly.
I hope that I have made her happy. I look back on times when I have come home late, or have been to immersed in my own life to fully pay attention to her and I feel horrible. What has she ever asked of me but for milk, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, salmon, chicken, treats, whipped cream? Oh my poor Sassy.

I know she's in a better place. No longer in pain. But my heart aches. My heart aches for her. For me. For Maddy, her little sister (pup) who is left behind, not sure of what's going on. Afraid when her mom cries out and curls in a ball on the floor.

I know it's only the first day and that things will get better. But I hurt. I hurt a lot. I miss her so much, but love her too much to make her stay here on earth for me.

...so I'm sitting at home working on a new song and wouldn't you know it...all I'm coming up with are lyrics like.."You suck" "I hate you...no..I love you...wait..You? NO I don't like you..but then I sorta do" and so on. Just need to get that worked out and check it out. It worked!! Yay! Thanks for listening. A new, non-depressing song soon!!

I have to say that we have been having a great month and I'm so excited to introduce to you all San and Alberto!! We've been working together for two months honing our sound, songs, image all that good stuff and, well shoot, I'm just freaking estatic with what we've accomplished so far!!

Now don't get me wrong, we argue (if you call throwing things at each other arguing), get flustered, cranky, crabby but those are growing pains and happen few between the laughs, burbs and San's wacky comments! We now even have stuff drilled in our heads about what another person is thinking without them having to say anything...even be there :-)

We're gearing up now to audition drummers and bass players and, to be honest, I'm feeling a little selfish 'cause I don't want to share these guys! BUT if we find two more people just like us then I GUESS it's okay!!

All of my hair got chopped off!!! SOOO to take some of the distraction away from the fact that my hair is gone, my bangs are blonde. Did it work? Could you tell that I have no hair?

I figure things happen for a reason and now I have a new look. I mean, it is almost summer so I guess it's good not to have much hair. I kinda know what it feels like (well sort of) to be a guy!!!

Wow, 4 months of not blogging anything new and all I do is talk about my hair. Pretty deep, huh?

I'm alive, I'm alive!!! Just wanted to let everyone know since I 'obviously' haven't been on here in AGES. So much going on.

Within less than the past two months I quit my job, my truck was totaled, sold my condo, moved to the valley, am almost done with my divorce (sucks but a fact of life and after trying for so long it was time to let go), went to FL to see the family and try to rest and recoup from this crazy year, vowing to rest more when I got back to Los Angeles BUT alas, you know how it is.

I've been back for two weeks and I started an entertainment marketing company, having been doing a lot of fit modeling go sees and booked two jobs, going to vegas for MAGIC (clothing convention) to run a booth for a designer, bought a guitar to teach myself the basics, been going to lots of music events looking for songwriters to work with since I don't play the guitar...YET!...(violin is sort of rough to write on), found the car of my dreams (a Jeep Wrangler whom I've since named George), got a palm pilot/phone that I'm still trying to figure out how to get the notifications to work (I even read the manual like a nerd) and have been trying to settle into my new place.

I've got a cute guesthouse with a huge backyard and I'm going to take advantage of the sun tomorrow (it's been raining for at least 5 days straight) and refinish some adirondack chairs that I got. Well, after I do some work of course...and give myself another guitar lesson ;-)

I can hear my friends now....take a break already!! But I'm just so excited about this new chapter in my life that I can't help but go go go. I make sure to take time each morning to read the Word and it helps me to keep my mind straight and do the right things for the right reasons. Not that I'm perfect by ANY stretch of the imagination. But it sure helps me weed out the 'busy work' stuff that I used to do so that I wouldn't focus on feeling a little "less than." :-)

Now if only I had a red velvet cupcake...

It's official....well, it's been official for about a week now...my EP is finally done!!! Want to say thanks so much to Mike for all his hard work and I can't leave out the fabulously talented Kari, Deborah and Janice...oh and Morrison, Knife, Pharoah, Deanna and I'll throw in a thanks to Joe, too, 'cause I'm so nice ;-)

I'm off to NYC at the end of the week and hope to meet up with some new folks while I'm in town!
