Current mood: hopeful
I cut
my fingers on a broken picture frame
The
welling up waxes and wanes
It's
not fair and it hasn't been
All
my friends are living saints
It's
been killing me for weeks
A
garden weed that cracks concrete
It
hasn't been fair for long
Growing
up isn't moving on
Do
you miss our broken reason or the nights spent treating
Troubles
and normalcy to bottles and comedies
You
forgot your necklace upstairs on purpose
It
was your golden ticket scam and it always made us laugh
Do
you see me as your acquaintance, your death by time, age and long
distance?
Broken
picture frame
The
welling up waxes and wanes It's not fair and it hasn't been
All
my friends are living saints
It's
been killing me for weeks
A
garden weed that cracks concrete
It
hasn't been fair for long
Growing
up isn't moving on
All
my friends are living saints
Broken
still but never breaking ties
I
never pictured this
Disperse
in fall and don't reminisce
See
it's just not fair
Not
everyone's moved on

We're proud to announce that we've signed to Bridge Nine Records! Here's the official press release for you: After much rumor-spreading and speculation (that turned out to be true), Bridge Nine Records and Polar Bear Club are proud to announce that the upstate New York band has officially joined Bridge Nine's ever-growing roster. Label owner Chris Wrenn said, "We couldn't be more excited to add Polar Bear Club to the family. This was one of the best and easiest decisions we've made and it's a great way to start off 2009. Not only are they an incredible band, but they know who they are and what they want to be-and they fit in perfect perfectly with the way B9 is growing." With their upcoming Bridge Nine debut named one of the Most Anticipated Releases of 2009 by Alternative Press, Polar Bear Club is already off to an incredible start. Formed in 2005, Polar Bear Club initially had no expectations of ever becoming a full-time band. Spread out amongst states and time-zones, the band released the EP The Redder The Better before they hit the studio to record 2008's critically acclaimed Sometimes Things Just Disappear on Red Leader Records, which was also named one of AP's Top 10 Most Essential releases of '08. As the interest in the band grew, they dropped jobs, took leaves of absence from school and hit the road with Gaslight Anthem, Crime In Stereo, Broadway Calls, American Steel, A Wilhelm Scream and many more. When it came time to find a new label, Emmett Menke said, "We couldn't be happier about signing to Bridge Nine. We've been talking with labels for some time now, and as cliche as it sounds, there isn't a better match out there for us. Polar Bear Club has always been fans of Bridge Nine as a label and the bands they've worked with. It's rare these days to be a part of a label that doesn't feel the need to rest on its laurels and is continuously push the envelope. We've been hard at work writing a new album for the past couple weeks and we can't wait to share with the world what Polar Bear Club and Bridge Nine have to offer." Bridge Nine Records will waste no time. Starting in the spring of 2009, the label will re-release Sometimes Things Just Disappear on gatefold vinyl. In the meantime, Polar Bear Club will be touring the world, kicking things off in February in UK and Europe with The Gaslight Anthem and UK troubadour Frank Turner - complete with a performance at Shockwave's NME magazine awards show at Shepard's Bush Empire in London on February 8th. The band will then hit the studio in April to record their new full-length album due out in the Fall of '09, which will undoubtedly push the envelope for "absolutely spectacular post hardcore" (Alternative Press) for years to come.

Fellow Clubbers, I write this from Cleveland, OH, at our last stop of an almost 2 month full U.S. tour. It's been fucking incredible from start to finish, and it would be impossible to even begin to recap all the great times we've had and the amazing people we've met. But alas, that's why we have the literary genius of the Artist-Formerly-Known-As Tracker. Keep reading, and he'll keep supplying the laughter/tears/discomfort. http://www.morningxleaver.blogspot.com Anyway, even with Tracker keeping you updated on our fortunes and misfortunes, it's absolutely necessary that we take a minute to thank everyone that's let us crash on their floor, cooked us food, put up with our horrible conversational skills, and much more. We've been absolutely spoiled with hospitality over the last couple months and we really would be nowhere without it. So if you're reading this, you know who you are, and we're eternally grateful. Grateful enough to come back soon and inconvenience you even more, no doubt. Seriously, though, it's just amazing to think of how many new friends we all have after such a short period of time. Touring around playing some dumb songs should NOT be this rewarding. But let's get to the fun stuff. We're going to keep posting photos and some videos as we track them down, but it goes without saying that The Fest 7 was one of our favorite shows in the history of PBC - so as a start, check out some videos at the links below. Part 1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ld_NUqpZryE&fmt=18 Part 2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OdbQZATNvFk&fmt=18 Part 3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rn5CXnVWRbA&fmt=18 Part 4 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=re6FxP_Tvu0&fmt=18
Also needless to say, we've got a lot on our plate for the coming months. If our excessive bulletins haven't alienated you already, we're working on it and they probably will soon. But keep checking back; we're doing some great shows soon with bands like Cancer Bats, Fireworks, and of course our good friends in The Gaslight Anthem. And we're already working on a bunch of REALLY exciting stuff (to us, anyway) for the rest of 2009.
That's all for now. Big things coming soon. Until then, we're going to rest up for a bit and prepare to rage in the frigid Northeast next month. See you then...
Love,
Chris and PBC

Yo yo yo,
We leave for Canada bright and early tomorrow for 5 shows with The Swellers. We're fucking stoked, in so many words. It's going to be a lot of fun and The Swellers are an awesome band you should absolutely check out. After that, a few days off and then a bunch more touring!
More importantly, our friend/roadie/tour manager/elder statesman, Trevor, has started a blog devoted to the startlingly inappropriate tales that will comprise PBC's life as a full-time touring band. He'll be updating it quite often with tour stories, photos, and frequent self-deprecating anecdotes, so you should bookmark it and have a good laugh at his expense. The URL is http://morningxleaver.blogspot.com, and it is also now linked on our front page for your enjoyment.
The "and more" portion of this title is a bit misleading. In fact, it's a complete lie. But stay tuned for a lot more news and announcements really soon. Be excited. We are!

For some reason people keep wanting to talk to us. Seriously, don't ask, I have no idea why. Here's a link to an interview Jimmy did with pastepunk.com recently:
http://www.pastepunk.com/features.php?v=266
Also, we're featured in the new issue of the UK's Rocksound. Check out their website at http://www.rocksound.tv or pick up a copy in stores.
As always, more coming soon, including tour dates. No really.
Buy us a van,

Hey!
We don't have any shows until August or so (wait for it...wait for it...), but we've been killing some time doing interviews and the like. Here are a couple links:
http://indierockreviews.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=38&Itemid=70 An interview Jimmy and I recently did with the good people over at Indierockreviews.com
http://exclaim.ca/articles/generalarticlesynopsfullart.aspx?csid1=121&csid2=988&fid1=31362 A fun little clip of us goofing around in an alley in Toronto. There will be another clip coming soon so check back. Thanks to Sam Sutherland for doing this with us and being a sweet bro.
We're going to have info on a lot of things coming soon, including lots of tour dates and more interviews. So if you're reading this, thanks, and keep looking. We're really excited about what's to come and we hope you are, too.
Until then, don't go to Arizona in the summer months. it's just downright fucking hot.
