Wow, long time no blog. THE EPIC TOUR is no more, however from the 26th of August onwards I will be in NEW YORK STATE. I am so excited I am capslocking all over the place. Also, I've put up previews of the Split Seven Ways album and muggle EP that I'll be selling at shows with the fantastic and wonderful NAGINI!

SEE YOU SOON

OH EM GEE.

So, this summer, from about mid-August to mid-September, I am going to be touring in the USA with the excellent Nagini, and we need suggestions for where to play - anywhere you want us with a bunch of fellow wizardly people! Places to stay would also be very welcome. More information to follow :)

First of all - thank you SO MUCH to everyone who nominated me in the WRPCAs - I'm eligible for best Slytherin band, best remixed song (even though I remixed it myself; I'm fairly sure that shouldn't count...) and the international awards! I'm so, so grateful :) I'm up against some excellent competition so I don't expect to win anything, but even being nominated has made my day. If you haven't voted in the final round, GO DO IT! It was almost impossible for me to choose because there are so many great bands, albums and songs to choose from in every category but I enventually managed...

Secondly - if you've got Twitter, follow me! http://www.twitter.com/split7ways_etc

This is the track that has cemented It's Real For Us being free - not only is it a re-record, it's a re-record that's directly ripping off the style of another band, on purpose (the Dresden Dolls). HOWEVER there was a reason for this. Firstly, I wanted to see if I could handle a bit of punk cabaret (the jury's out on that) and secondly it is a very theatrical song - one of the reasons I love Draco is that he's as highly-strung and melodramatic as a particularly overbred Chihuahua, and this goes from drama to farce to drama again in quick succession!

I haven't slept, I've barely eat
I'm worrying myself sick
I've been fixing this stupid cabinet
But none of the charms'll stick

I'm usually good at keeping my cool
I mastered Occlumency
But I can't seem to stop crying
And now Potter's going to freaking kill me!

So I raise my wand and mouth the words
Mad Aunt Bella's favourite curse
And oh god I really mean it
Oh god I really mean it...

But Potter's faster, and what's worse
It's not the hex that I expect
No Expelliarmus or Stupefy
I hear him yell out "sect -

umsempra!" and I think I'm dead
But the pain gives me doubt
I clutch at my bleeding chest
And I hear Myrtle shout

"Murder! Murder in the bathroom!"
I know I'm facing certain doom
And I just think of my mum
Oh god what has he done?

And Potter stands there all blank and bloody
Snape just saved my neck again
The wounds knit, I bet I scar
Myrtle floats off down a drain

Later I'm in a cold, clean bed
And Pansy's in a whirl
"You'll never guess what Potter did!
He snogged that Weasley girl!"

Just how twisted is his brain
To think things can ever be the same
When, oh god, I really meant it
Oh god, I really meant it!

I've got to carry on
I've got to carry on
Whether this is right or wrong
I've got to carry on.

Here it is! I've been terribly unimaginative, so it's going to be called "It's Real For Us." That's a phrase that means a lot to me even outside of Snape and Lily because, well, it IS real for us :)

YES! ALBUM! It's so far untitled, and admittedly mostly consists of re-records, but they're songs I've wanted to make better for a long time. I've got things I need to pay for but this will probably be free due to the fact it's mostly re-records and I still feel bad about selling music for some reason, I don't know why. Songs on it, in no particular order, will include
* It's Real For Us
* Wedding Photographs
* Dear Cedric
* Sectumsempra
* Amortentia
* The Locket
* Once Upon A Time
* Lullabies & Lies
* Footnote
and possibly Skin Deep, or another Tonks song, I'm not sure yet.

Love you all :)

Okay, first off I do need to let it be known that the WRPCAs make me kind of nervous and uncomfortable. But then, a lot of things do...

Best Collaboration ("Star-Cross'd Brothers" by Malfoy Manor & Chaos of the Phoenix, "The Human Cold Shower" by Hogwarts, A History & Split Seven Ways)
Best Techno/Electronica Song (any 2008 Malfoy Manor ones)
International Award

My votes, in a whole bunch of categories, go to:

Remedial Potions
Luna's Ceiling

First off - I have FINALLY uploaded Up To No Good onto Tunecore, so hopefully it will be available on iTunes in the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand within a few weeks. I'll keep you posted and hopefully announce it on Wizrocklopedia when it's actually available. I've changed the album artwork because I like the purple one better.

Secondly - new song! It's a duet with the awesome MaryBeth of Nagini (she's on my top friends, go add her if you haven't already). This song has been a long time coming - according to the text file of the lyrics I started it on the 28th of December '07. I considered delaying the original version of Wormwood & Wolfsbane so I could use this as a title track but it never happened, which is sort of a sad thing as it would have fitted perfectly, but also good as because it wasn't as good as it could have been at the time and I couldn't have gotten Nagini's gorgeous vocals!

The interaction between Snape and Lupin throughout the books fascinates me. Obviously Lupin dislikes Snape a lot because the man just isn't likeable, but he doesn't really hate him, whereas in PoA Snape has some "good" reasons-not-excuses to hate him - he helped bully him at school through his inaction, he's got the DADA job, he's a werewolf so he presents a threat to Harry Potter, Snape's twisted reason for living, and Snape remembers him being at the beck and call of Sirius Black, supposed betrayer of Lily Evans. Just a thought.

Remus:
We're tired, so tired, we're too young to feel like this
Sitting in a staff-room as the night draws in
The moon's waxing gibbous and the fever's growing strong
I'm a wolf without a pack, the loneliness still stings

Severus:
That cup of potion passes between our hands
A cauldron full of bitterness to keep the beast at bay
You could be another traitor, we can't prove our loyalties
You and he were friends once, there can be no other way

Remus:
So I will keep my peace, and I will try to be polite
Severus:
And I will keep my distance, full of vitriol and spite
Remus:
I will drink this goblet down, I won't show too much pride
Severus:
And I will hold my grudges, buried deep down inside

Remus:
You stay silent and sullen, addicted to the misery
Until I mention Harry and you spit out a slight
I'm sorry for the past and what you have become
But you won't ever listen, and I'm too tired to fight

Severus:
As far as I'm concerned, you're still the boy who stood
And watched as they made my world a living hell
If you honour Lily's memory then I am on your side
But the reason's deep and painful, and I will never tell

CHORUS

Remus:
Dumbledore may trust you, well, that doesn't stop me worrying
But for now it will have to do
Severus:
Dumbledore may trust you, well, that doesn't stop me worrying
I've got my eye on you

CHORUS

Arghhh I have been neglecting Split Seven Ways, and wizard rock in general. Real life is still pretty weird and difficult, plus I'm moving house on Tuesday so that's stressful and time-consuming, and the Wrock Beat comp is still low on tracks. Sucks. HOWEVER I have been working on a lot of music, including a full EP-worth of muggle songs! omg, etc. I'm going to set up a myspace for my muggle music so keep on the lookout for that, and for new wizard rock too. Love you guys! See you at the Spring Fling, UK people!

OMG THE POSTER IS SO AWESOME, VIC RULES ALL :D
