In the month of September 2008 Hank Shizzoe and Christoph Beck travelled through Norway, Finland and Sweden on their motorcycles. A diary with lots of fotos und videos is now online.

From September 8th to October 1st 2008 Hank Shizzoe and Christoph Beck for once hit the road without their musical instruments. Hank (on his Moto Guzzi Stelvio 1200 4V) and Christoph (on his Harley-Davidson XL 1200L) explored Scandinavia. They travelled by cargo train to Hamburg, then rode to Hirtshals in Denmark and took the ferry to Kristiansand in Norway. From there they rode 3'800 glorious kilometers to the North Cape. The journey home led them through Finland and Sweden back to Hamburg from where they took a cargo train back south. Four cylinders, four wheels, 7'800 kilometers.

We would also like to congratulate Reto Caffi on his Oscar nomination for his short feature "On The Line", The soundtrack features Hank's "Don't Bore Me, Man" from the 2001 album "Hank Shizzoe." The Academy Awards ceremony will be held on February 22nd 2009 in Los Angeles.

Okay, hope y'all had a good year. Here's what's up our sleeves for 2009: In January Hank and Michel will play a few shows with Christine Lauterburg & AEROPE. Hank will continue playing solo shows in February, mostly in Switzerland and in Germany. Towards the end of February the new live 2-CD+DVD-Set "Live In Motown" will be available in stores and at various online retailers. Of course you can also buy this CD at our label's website: Blue Rose Records

In April and May we will play a couple of shows with the Directors. In summer we will make the odd festival appearance.

Work has begun on the next as yet untitled studio album. Hank is writing songs. There is also a chance that our former label CrossCut Records will release a compilation CD (yes, with one or two unreleased songs) in autumn. Hank might work on a film score this year. We'll see how this turns out. Also to be released in spring is the debut album from Mudphish: Pink Pedrazzi and Claudia Bettinaglio with Hank Shizzoe, Sam Baur, Patrick Sommer and Olivier Truand. This band will play concerts in May and November 2009.More here: Mudphish Website
