We know nothing about these guys and Artificial Sacrificial Darkness In The Temple Of The Damned is a stupid album title, but this here is some mega-heavy, molten-ass rock. That, and as and added bonus, the vocals are all processed/shitty like mid-period Ministry, so you can pretend this is the record Al recorded after Psalm 69 instead of all that crap he put out later.

DRUMS ARE FOR PARADES also do the two drum thing but are from Belgium rather than Oakland, and offer up a more straightforward dirty lowend rock that calls to mind early to mid period Floor, Black Cobra or even a more brutal version of Karp. They have a 10" ep out which looks beautiful but, as they themselves warn, is expensive as fuck. Limited to 300 though, if that helps make up your mind. If you need a bit of help deciding you'll be pleased to know that these boys have stuck the majority of the tunes up here for you to listen to. Tell me you're not tempted to break into your wallet and get a copy.Let's face it, Sludge is dead, so having bands like these guys around gives me hope in a sea of shit Cavity wannabes.

Hoe hard, emotioneel of erotisch het er aan toegaat tijdens de hevige regeringsonderhandelingen zullen we nooit weten. Wel kunnen we gokken dat de soundtrack ongeveer moet klinken zoals deze ep van het Gentse drietal Drums Are For Parades. Hard, snedig, noisy en snel! Op 'Artificial Sacrificial Darkness In The Temple Of The Damned' snijden de gebroeders Geert en Wim Reygaert en Piet Dierickx als een driekoppige anaconda door het Belgische amazonegebied. De ep telt slechts zes nummer, maar wie zes maal vette rock-'n-roll, punk, en veel noise doet, krijgt stilaan een idee van hoe hard je buiten westen wordt geblazen. Was de Belgische muziekscene een smerige fietsketting dan waren de songs van Drums Are For Parades de tanden op het voorste tandwiel. (jvw)
