Hey everybody!

Today we went for our final trip up to the studio to finish recording our parts. There were a few things to touch up and add here and there but mainly we recorded Anna doing her fantastic vocal appearance on the album. We spent the rest of the time learning about the basics of mixing and mastering which was very interesting, and it was the first time that the whole band had been down together which was cool. So we're now basically waiting for the final mixing and mastering to be done which will take place over the next week and then we'll have our finished product!

As soon as we get the master CD back, some of the tracks will be put straight up onto Myspace so look out for that. We will also be making plenty of full-on CDs with artwork and cellophane wrapping etc which you will be able to buy from us for a small fee, although they wont be ready straight away. In addition we'll try and hit iTunes too, but again that wont happen straight away.

So here's the final track listing to expect:

Journey Pt 1

Clouded Skies

Shout

Bass Interlude

FIX

Speechless

Journey Pt 2

So watch this space for some of those tracks coming up soon and remember to leave your feedback, be it positive or negative, (preferably positive,) and tell everyone you know to take a look too.

Thanks, Discarded Days.

Hey guys, Jake and Pickers here, just giving you and update on how the new album is coming along.

So, we know what you've all been dying to hear;

Monday: Chicken sandwiches with cups of tea, w/ milk, walkers crisps and a mini roll

Tuesday: Chicken sandwiches with cups of tea, w/ milk (minus Tom, who's preference deems he have no milk), walkers crisps and a cake bar

Wednesday: Chilli

Thursday: Pizza (toppings being; margarita, ham and pineapple and pepperoni), cool original Doritos tortilla chips, with hot salsa dip, cake bar and a glass of water.

Friday: tbc

After four days of recording, everything is looking very positive. Monday and Tuesday were spent tracking bass and drums and although we fell slightly behind schedule on Monday, they were completed in reasonable time the following day.

Each day we've been arriving at 9 am and finishing at 6 pm and we find that the amount of momentum decreases towards the latter end of the day.

Wednesday was spent doing most of my guitar parts, it was a very exhausting day and I didn't realise just how much there was to do.

Today, the main job was to get Ewan's guitar parts down, which was done really very quickly. After this I recorded all the acoustic guitar parts. For the last hour or so, Ryan did some practice takes on some songs but his real vocals will be done tomorrow.

So we still have to do Ryan's vocals and patch up a few guitar parts here and there and then we need to find a time for Anna to come and add her magic!

But yeah its sounding great so far, so thanks everyone who has been showing interest in things are going, we look forward to showing you all the finished thing.

Cheers,

Jake and Pickers.

Hey all!

We're aware that not much has been happening regarding Discarded Days for some time now and that it seems as though we've disappeared off the face of the planet, so we think it's about time that we bring you up to speed with the recent unfoldings.

You may well have heard that the band will be recording shortly, and many of you will already know about the date pushing further into the future. The recording is going to be a big job and therefore needs to be scheduled correctly and so sorry if some of you were expecting to hear some new tracks earlier. But we can now confirm that Discarded Days will be recording several tracks after the GCSE exam period has gone and been forgotten and before the start of the new school year.

We can reveal, and again some of you may already know this, that the EP/album will be called Journey and will be produced and available to buy as a fully mastered CD and perhaps on itunes etc. This is made possible by David Beebee and his studio that we will be occupying for a short amount of time. If you do get the chance, David is an excellent musician and songwriter, so check out his music. http://www.myspace.com/davidbeebee

Once the album is finished things are looking up for us to start gigging and the prospect of performing the music live is certainly very likely. So keep checking up on us and if anything comes around, it will be posted on the page.

So thank you to everyone who has continued to support us despite of  us not appearing to be around much or being as strong as before. Stay patient and things are sure to develop. It's still early days, March marked the one year anniversary of the band and hopefully we can start making a serious mark in the coming year.

Cheers,

- all the guys.

Though the smoke has risen and FIX has been released into the world we have not relaxed in our 'quest' to bring you top-class quality entertainment. We are continuing to write material and have a decent number of half-developed tracks including one we're very excited about which is very nearly finished.

We are very grateful for the awesome response to FIX so far and the support we are getting. We're glad you're enjoying it and we welcome your feedback to our first song.

A big thank you goes out to Idlefish  who so kindly gave up their studio and time to let us record FIX, we are very grateful!

Unfortunately we do not have any method accessible to record our material on a regular basis, but we are working on it.

Keep checking back for updates, cheers!

Jake

Hey!

Welcome to the site of Discarded Days. Here we will keep you up-to-day with all the goings on surrounding the band.

We're on the finishing stages of recording our first song FIX at Ifonly studios, who kindly allowed us to use their facilities. We will try and get it up before the end of Summer so be patient. We're really happy with the support and backing of everyone so far who are accepting us with open minds, thank you.

We are currently writing material spanning a very broad range of styles and just trying to play as much as we possibility can so that we can find our own sound.

Have a look around the site and keep checking back for updates.

Take care, Jake.
