Current mood: excited
Hello All!! And welcome again to another big Highlife update! We've had lots and lots going on the past few weeks that's why the Myspace has been a little slow, but we're back and we're busy! As you can see today, October 8th, we launched our new myspace, with a new video update, new pictures, and most importantly the single off of our upcoming full length release. Our full length entitled, " Absolutely Nothing, Absolutely Everything", is due out this winter on iTunes (worldwide), Rhapsody, Amazon, and Shockhound! This is something we couldn't be happier to announce, and we hope you're just as excited as we are. We'll be announcing the track listing to the record soon, but the CD will feature a few old tracks (revamped of course), and then 7-8 new songs! Including our new single, "Mama Was Right" (which you can hear on our myspace right now). "Mama Was Right" will be available as a single download on iTunes and the aforementioned websites in a few weeks for just $1.00. Hope everyone is excited for the CD, we know we are! We're going to have a bunch of upcoming contests to win copies of the CD, new t-shirts, etc. We will also be announcing a very big CD Release show to take place in December or January (but don't worry, the CD will be available as a digital download on iTunes much sooner!) Love you all, take care, and stay warm! Adam & The Highlife

Hey guys,
Thanks for stopping by, this is Keith.
To start I just want to say that all of the friends, family and fans that came out to each and every show made the past two years worth while. You guys have be apart of some of the best memories of my life, and you wont be forgotten. And as this is kind of hard for me to say, I'm just gonna say it, after two amazing years as the bassist of The HighLife (and The Aura Lies) I am relinquishing my duties as bassist in the band. (I felt big words like relinquish were needed for a big announcement). This may come to a surprise to some of you, but when it comes down to it, Ive simply just lost the passion and drive it takes to be in a band and play music live. There is no bad blood between me and the rest of the guys. I am not being forced out, nor am I quitting the band cause of any sort of inner dispute. They're my best friends and will continue to be so. I still love music, the band, the guys, and all of our fans. That is why I am sticking with the band as their media guru (designing awesome merch/myspaces, taking wicked awesome pics, etc) and I'll still be around at shows. Not on stage slappin' the bass, but selling merch, guitar teching, taking pics, and any other odd job I can help with. My official last show will be our August 22nd show at House of Blues with our good friends Lucky Boys Confusion, Swizzle Tree and Inept. It would mean ALOT of see all of your smiling faces out there to bid me a farewell. Tickets are on sale now, get them before it sells out. Stay tuned to the page for updates and possibly a new myspace in the future (you didn't hear it from me)
I also want to thank everyone who has supported me over the past two years, including (but not limited to) my parents, my brothers, my girlfriend, Corey's parents (for letting us abuse the house during practice and recording, sorry if we're messy), All past and present members of the band (and their families), and anyone who has helped us over the past two years, I am not going to start listing them because I know i'll forget someone and make a boob out of myself.
As far as my future after the band, I'm going to be finishing up school this year and concentrating on furthering my design/photo business as well as helping the band in any way I can. I'm not gonna fall off the face of the earth either, I'll still be twittering about random ridiculous stuff and you can catch me around at countless local shows. Anyways, keep supporting the band (and the new bassist), they are all great guys and musicians with a HUGE year ahead of them. They've worked so hard and deserve everything that is coming there way.
Once again, you guys are awesome and I'll miss you guys,
Keith

Current mood:MOTIVATED
Hey everyone,
So 3 taxis, 1 greyhound bus, 3 flights, and a 900 cross country trip in a box truck w/ a trailer, and a shortened tour, we're all home safe. Problem is, our van is still stuck in North Carolina at an AAMCO station.
Corey, Keith and Jimmy ended up taking flights home that took hours with connections, whereas Justen and I had to rent a huge box truck and drive 900 miles through the mountains 16 hours to get home with our equipment.
However, the point of this blog is to THANK each and every one of you for all your donations, support, and kind words to get us through this. We are a band that has faced adversity time and time again, and although this has been the biggest road block, nothing will stop us from doing what we love to do, and that's make music.
This has placed a huge financial burden on the band, and all of us as individuals, so please spread the word and let people know about what has happened, we need all the support we can get.
We are beyond amazed by the support you have all given us, and we are forever in debt to all of you.
Please visit and link your friends to www.thehighliferock.com for all the info!

Current mood: thankful
Hey everyone, Today was a pretty scary day for all of us. While driving south bound on I95 to our show in Fayetteville, North Carolina, our van started to smoke and ended up catching fire. Fortunately, we all made it out ok, with no injuries or anything like that. We were all just really shooken up for a while. We're all thankful to be alive, if we hadn't stopped so soon, things could have been a lot worse. Now we're stuck in North Carolina with no van, no money, and a trailer full of equipment. We don't ever ask for donations or help, but we need you now more than ever, we have no way of transportation to get home, and are now permanently without a van. We'll take pennies, nickles, dimes, quarters, dollars, anything you can spare to help us out. Any help will be appreciated more than you can ever imagine. Seems like this band continues to be tested, and no matter what happens we will continue to move forward. We're without a van, but we still got all of you as well as our drive and ambition. Now that our tour is cut short we're going to come home and start booking our 2nd leg, as well as finishing writing our full length which should be out in August. We love you all dearly, and hope you're all doing well, any help will be appreciated.

No way! The High Life having yet ANOTHER major update? This can't be! Yeah that's right everyone, another update from your favorite neighborhood crime fighters (or something). Anyway, as you can see we're kind of another band, again. Let's just call it The High Life v3.0. Let me start from the beginning. As some of you may have heard through the grapevine, we have parted ways with Jonny. When it comes to The High Life and what we want to do as a band, there are three aspects to it: effort (hard-work), performance, and heart. Unfortunately with Jon, we did not get those. And without going into more detail we felt that he, in the end, did not fit what we were looking for. We parted on good terms, and we wish him the best but we felt that this was necessary (yet again) to accomplish what we want to accomplish. However, we have replaced him with our newest addition Jimmy. He was born at 6'4" and 225-ish lbs., and we couldn't be happier. Jimmy brings in a handful of talent, charisma, and heart and is more than willing to make the push at his dreams with us, which is something we've had a hard time finding in someone. With all of this, we have also posted a new song. Our newest addition "I'm So Home" and later today around 6 PM (CST) we will be posting yet ANOTHER SONG, so please ENJOY, spread the word, tell all of your friends, and please please please come out to our Metro show on June 12th so you can not only see us in action on one of the most respected stages in the US, but to pick up our CD which we release that night!!!! Remember, for $5 dollar tickets go to the link below and use the password "high" for "band 4" https://www.etix.com/ticket/servlet/onlineSale?action=selectPerformance&cobrand=metrochicago&venue_id=4875&searchType=venue&performance_id=1008312 Love you all! Prepare for more updates soon :)!!!! PS - I swear I'm not that short. Jimmy is just that damn tall. I'm 5'11", sheesh!!

Current mood: determined
Well hello!!
First and foremost I wanted to say thank you for the absolutely amazing response and support that you all have given us over the past week and half. You've pushed us to keep working and keep writing and recording and it's been really fun and to say the least, overwhelming.
As you can see today we posted another one of our new songs called "Breakaway", it's a feel good song with a feel good vibe so enjoy it. There is MORE coming, just keep coming around, keep talking to us, keep being awesome =D.
With today's new song we also posted our 'projected' tour dates (our first leg, east coast) for this summer. We've yet to book the dates, so if you know of any cool bands, cool venues, cool promoters in your area that would be more than happy to help us then please let us know!!
We also plan to do a second leg which will hit the south west of the USA in late July and August. So please, if you have any leads then send them our way! We want to cover as much ground and have as many of you listen to us as possible.
We love you all very much, please continue to spread the word, we love you all more than we can express!
