For Immediate Release - A Community Theater Production Notice Tuesday, November 11, 2008 WMTC holiday favorite "A Christmas Carol" returns Woodstock Musical Theatre Company announces the return of their holiday presentation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol specially adapted for the Woodstock Opera House stage by Ned O'Reilly of Crystal Lake. Ebenezer Scrooge journeys through the Christmases of Past, Present and Future with his three ghostly guides. Colorful costumes, clever special effects and merry Christmas carols transport the audience to the London streets of 1843 and capture the spirit of the holiday season. Director Kathie Comella has assembled a talented cast of 27 local actors to portray the 98 characters in this classic Christmas story. From Crystal Lake, Christopher R O'Reilly is Ebenezer Scrooge, Sean Reed is Tiny Tim, Pete Erbland is the Ghost of Christmas Future and Emilie Erbland is an urchin, Ruth Zulas is Mrs. Dilber and Jerry Hage is the Spirit of Christmas Present. From Woodstock, David Comella is Bob Cratchit, Christopher Connell is Nephew Fred, Bob Reed is Marley's Ghost, Ellen Bellairs is the Spirit of Christmas Past, Arabella Anderson is Belle, Mary Beth Brown is Mrs. Fezziwig, Nora Brown is Belinda Cratchit, Rhetta Bates and Jade Bellairs are urchins, Brendan Connell is Young Scrooge, Morgan Ammirati is Sally and Jack Murray is Tom. Charles Rutherford of Hebron is playing Mr. Fezziwig. From McHenry are Alan Warneke as Dick Wilkins and Samantha Hawley as Claire. From Cary, Katherine Stryker is Rose and Ryan Lammers is Peter Cratchit. Dayna Palya of Johnsburg is Agatha Cratchit. From Lake Zurich, Dan Euker is David Cratchit and Bridget Euker is Martha Cratchit. Laura Schmitt of Lake in the Hills is Mrs. Cratchit. Performances are Friday, November 28 at 8 PM, Saturday, November 29 at 8 PM, Sunday, November 30 at 4 PM, Friday December 5 at 8 PM, Saturday, December 6 at 2PM and 8PM and Sunday December 7, at 1PM and 6PM. WMTC holiday favorite "A Christmas Carol" returns
Woodstock Musical Theatre Company announces the return of their holiday presentation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol specially adapted for the Woodstock Opera House stage by Ned O'Reilly of Crystal Lake.
After five years, Woodstock Musical Theatre Company brings back their popular version of A Christmas Carol. Performances are Thursday, November 29 and Friday, November 30, at 8 p.m., Saturday, December 1, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday December 2, at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Artistic Director Kathie Comella, Production Coordinator Elaine Riner, Stage Manager Kate Sedlock and Choreographer Beth Davis Johnson, all of Woodstock, have assembled a talented cast of 22 local actors to portray the 95 characters in this classic Christmas story. Christopher R. O'Reilly of Crystal Lake returns to play the notorious miser, Ebenezer Scrooge. From Woodstock, David Comella is Bob Cratchit, Christopher Connell is Nephew Fred, Bob Reed is Marley's Ghost, Mary Weise is the Ghost of Christmas Past, Bob Riner is the Christmas Present, April Noel is Belle, Mary Beth Brown is Mrs. Fezziwig, Nora Brown is Nell, Arabella Anderson is Jane and Jack Murray is Dick Wilkins. The Cratchit children are played by Bridget Euker, Ryan Lammers, Katherine Stryker, Dayna Palya, Michael Neumann and Madigan Baker as Tiny Tim. Woodstock Musical Theatre Company announces the cast for Lend Me a Tenor.
Rob Scharlow of Woodstock will play the role of the world famous Italian tenor, Tito Merelli and Kathie Comella of Woodstock, performs as his jealous wife, Maria.
Frank Gaughan of Crystal Lake will take the role of Saunders, the excitable general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, his assistant Max will be played by Jeff Cook of McHenry and Kim Scharlow of Woodstock will play Saunders' daughter, Maggie.
Playing the role of the bellhop is Trent Halpin of Cary, the amorous soprano Diana is played by Sarah Weinstein of Crystal Lake and Julia, the president of the Opera Company, is Sherry Tessler of Woodstock.
This night in September of 1934 is the biggest in the history of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company world famous tenor Tito Merelli is to perform Othello, his greatest role, at the gala season opener. Through a hilarious series of mishaps, two Othello's are running around in costume and two women are running around in lingerie, each thinking she is with Il Stupendo! A sensation on Broadway and in London's West End, Lend Me a Tenor is guaranteed to leave the audience teary eyed with laughter.
Lend Me a Tenor is directed by Regina Belt of Woodstock. The production staff includes production coordinator Janie Czarny, technical coordinator Lou Czarny, stage manager Kate Sedlock, costume coordinator Beth Davis Johnson, prop designer Elaine Riner, light designer Paul Bayer, scenic artist Erin Denk and hair stylist Virginia Zymonas, all of Woodstock.

- State Fair by Rodgers and Hammerstein, musical, weekends November 2-18, 2007 – State Fair travels with the Frake family as they leave behind life on the farm for three days of adventure at the annual Iowa State Fair. Warm-hearted entertainment as only Rodgers and Hammerstein can deliver.
- Sabrina Fair by Samuel A. Woodstock Musical Theatre Company announces open auditions for their production of A Christmas Carol to be performed at the Woodstock Opera House on Sun, Sept 23 and Weds, Sept 26 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Woodstock Opera House, Calhoun Street Stage Entrance. No appointment is necessary. Please wear clothes and shoes you can move in and be prepared to sing a Christmas carol of your choice, dance, do some improvisation and read portions of the script with other actors. Rehearsals will take place in Woodstock evenings three to four times a week.
Performance dates are ONE weekend opening Thursday, November 29 and closing Sunday, December 2, 2007. Shows are Thursday and Friday at 8:00 pm, Saturday at 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm and Sunday at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm for a total of 6 performances.
Director Kathie Comella and Choreographer Beth Davis Johnson require an ensemble cast of 20; all cast members play more than one role. There are many quick costume, character and voice changes, which make for fun and challenging parts for actors. All parts have lines and sing songs; there are no chorus or background persons. The part of Scrooge is precast; all other roles are open. Men: Bob Cratchit (30-50), Nephew Fred (25-35), Marley's Ghost (dead), Christmas Present (large & jolly), Mr. Fezziwig (40-60), Dick Wilkins (25-35), Topper (25-35). Women: Christmas Past (adult), Mrs. Cratchit (30-50), Mrs. Fezziwig (40-60), Belle Fezziwig (25-35). Children: Peter Cratchit (14-16), David Cratchit (10-12), Tiny Tim (6-7), Martha Cratchit (16-18), Belinda Cratchit (12-14), Agatha Cratchit (8-10), Nell (10-12). Man or Woman: Christmas Future (adult). Both English and Cockney accents are necessary for all parts in this play.
