Dear Friends,

We're excited to announce that "Polaroid Solution" will be featured as part of the soundtrack on "Grey's Anatomy" this evening (10/22) on abc.  We've never met Mr. Grey, but we're thankful for his anatomy all the same.

Lots of love,
~FPF

UPDATE 11/5/09: "Grey's Anatomy"will be using another FPF song tonight (this time, "NxN").  Get your scalpels ready...

The lyrics for the latest song:

One More Crash

I wake up, I see the cracks in the walls
I think this building is gonna come down soon.
I step out, I breathe. I'm back on the street
I think this body has got to come down soon.
And in my machine, as cold as routine
I think this city is coming down soon.

Watching the light on the dash
Warning that we're gonna crash
One last time let's drive round again.
Now I see your face in the mirror
Fading like ruined careers
One last time, so drive round again

Postmodern and bored, exhaling with cool
like some hackers we're gonna break through soon.
Exhausting and burning these gallons of fuel
I think these systems are gonna break down soon
And in my machine, if you're my routine
You'll keep this body from coming down so soon.

Watching the light on the dash
Warning that we're gonna crash
One last time let's drive round again.
Now I see your face in the mirror
Fading like ruined careers
One last time, so drive round again

Dear Friends,

We've posted a new song "New Medium," which we hope warms your hearts.  For a limited time, we're offering a free download of the song here:

www.fadedpaperfigures.com/promo/New_Medium.mp3.zip

The full 10-song album will be available in early 2010 (and we'll be posting another new song from it again in a few weeks, so stay tuned!). Here are the lyrics, with the obligatory links:

New Medium

There's a light on the floor
Shows your just out the door
In a Russian film we belong
like a gentle jolt of montage
where the mis-en-scene flies
back and forth into your eyes.

I can hear you writing
I read between the lines
I can hear you writing
in pictographic signs

There are shadows on the wall
in the caves where trains crawl
We can cut our indirect hearts
when the edits keep us apart
When the acetate lies
in the darkness of our eyes.

All of these memories collide
this is the medium tonight
you and me editing time.

I can hear you writing
I read between the lines
I can hear you writing
in pictographic signs

Some fans have emailed recently and want to hear some of the new songs. And we want to get them out there, so here's the deal....

If we can get 500 twitterers, we'll post one of the new songs onto our myspace player gratis--a gimmicky deal, no doubt, but so is twitter.  What?  Okay, we'll do it for 50 twitterers, ha ha.

Dear friends,

We're trying out the ol' twitter, so if you're following folks anyway, why not follow us?  We'd love to keep everyone updated on the new album, and any future tours, etc.

Our twitter url is twitter.com/fpfmusic

So check it out

Lots of love,

Dear friends,

So it turns out the UCI gig had to be canceled because of scheduling conflicts and a cosmic unbalance in the force.  But not to worry, we hope to play more shows soon, and the New Medium E.P. is well on its way to infiltrating ipods later this summer.  Thanks for everyone's emails and interest.  We will certainly keep you posted :)

Lots of love,

FPF tonight at the Slide Bar in Fullerton, CA.  It's a 21+ show, so if you come with a friend the two of you have to be 42+.  It's free, and doors open at, I think, 8:30, but FPF goes on at 10pm, so don't be too late or you'll miss us :)

This is one of two final SoCal shows before we move east, or north, depending on a bunch of stuff.  Anyway, thanks to all our fans who have been coming to so many of our shows lately.  The "New Medium" E.P. is slated for release late this summer, and we hope it'll knock your socks off, inasmuch as you are wearing socks that you don't really like.  We want you to have socks that you enjoy wearing.  Good, comfortable socks.

Okay, lots of love friends.

Dear friends,

Just an update on recent FPF goings on: we will be playing a show at the Loft in San Diego on April 7th.  I do think you have to buy tickets, but it's not much $, and it'll be our first all-ages show ever in SoCal.  So come on out, and be sure to say hi if you do.

Also, we are hard at work on the next album, and while we are very excited with how it's going, it's still a very slow process, so we shan't have any full-length album to release until, oh, say, August.  But we are shooting a video for one of our new songs (John has been learning the subtle craft of DIY cinematography), and will probably have that available for viewing relatively soon--or at least sooner than the album.  We can tell you that the song is called "New Medium," and that it'll help if you brush up on your history of the Soviet Montage Movement before you hear it.

In other news, John is moving out East this summer to become a professor at a stuffy ivy league school, and he's employing all of his persausive energies to get Kael and Heather to follow him to New York (Kael is very mobile, but Heather wants to heal the world via medical school), so FPF's future location is all up in the air at the moment.  Whatever the outcome, though, we can promise you that the songs will keep coming, slowly (as always) but surely.  And even if we have to finish the songs via Jetblue or UPS (because, I mean, come on, who really uses the postal service for valuable interstate song composition?), we will keep them coming.

And thanks to everyone for keeping the love coming through emails and comments.  We really do read them all and look forward to seeing you all live someday on our tour of the Universe (or at least in San Diego next month).

Lots of love,
FPF

Hey friends, just a note to say that we go on stage right at 9:00 on Tuesday. We asked to be the first band to play so that we could have time for a sound check before the show. If you're driving from afar, we hope you can make it by then. Lots of love, FPF
