JsouL - "Potential" ft. Eric Roberson & Substantial | [DOWNLOAD MP3] | [LYRICS]
Meet JsouL. This Baltimore native and soul sensation has been making a name for himself for years in the independent R & B scene. If you have Substantial vs. Samurai Champloo, then you might remember hearing him on the remix of Inverse's Spark My Soul, trading vocals with Steph the Sapphic Songtress. He's getting ready to drop his new album, entitled Black Sinatra. Here is the latest single from it, Potential, featuring our very own Substantial & Singer/Song writer, Eric Roberson, known for writing the hit song Hold On by Dwele. Those of you who love a smooth and mellow joint to vibe with, will not be disappointed. Be sure to keep an eye out for more JsouL and Substantial collaborations in the future.
Enjoy!
By the way, [ SUBSTANTIAL/BURNS AVAILABLE NOW!]

Substantial/Burns – “The Memo (Move Me)” – [DOWNLOAD MP3] | Artwork: Kevin Michael Earley.
After an incredible run of singles off his sophomore album Sacrifice that landed him rotation on MTV, VH1, FUSE & BET, features in URB, Black Beat, and more, Substantial returns with a brand new side-project entirely produced by Pittsburgh-native beatsmith, Burns, entitled Substantial/Burns. Fans of the Sacrifice album will undoubtedly recall Burns’ exemplary work on “Let It Go”.
Shortly after creating that track, the duo decided to craft more songs
in that vain before the DMV’s most prolific son began work on his third
official LP.
“The Memo (Move Me)” is a brutally
honest commentary on the state of Hip-Hop music and the lack of
substance found in the output from both mainstream and underground
scenes. Here Substantial offers his view and encourages artists to take
the inspiration that they were given and use it to inspire others
regardless of your choice of medium. Burns laces Sub with an airy,
mystic like soundscape, which is the perfect canvas for his baritone
vocals.
Substantial/Burns, will be released as a digital-exclusive on October 20, 2009. It features appearances from Extended Famm, Kokayi, Steph the Sapphic Songstress & others. Stay tuned to QN5.com for the official tracklisting, exclusives and more!
Enjoy.

After the show of force that Blue Schoolers put into effect for the inclusion of Substantial’s “It’s You (I Think)” on MTV’s rotation, they cut right to the chase when they saw “My Favorite Things (f/ Steph)”
and put it right into the mix. Already, the video has been in heavy
rotation on MTVu, MTV Video-On-Demand and VH1. Recently, Substantial
was featured on MTV2’s Indie Week promotion (we’ll have up clips next week) and the video was added to MTV.com.
We
want to make sure everyone heads over there to rate and comment the
video and let MTV know the buzz is still there. The first video had
24,146 views and 77 comments. Think we can match it? Let’s go!
Enjoy!
