Hi there, this is Joe Franke, I haven't logged into the Myspace.com/fracas page for a long time, and I should, cause it is a bit out of date. Since my last posting, we have toured Europe again and North America with the English band 7 Crowns. we also released a split 7 inch EP with them, two new songs by each band on two different colors (or "colours" in England) available wherever finer records are sold. Ian Carpenter has been playing bass with us, and that is working out dandy. We played a best of the bay show for the East Bay Express, and that was overwhelmingly fantastic. This Thursday in san Francisco, we play with porno rap legend Blowfly, the Mad Mackas (ex-Onyas) and Blag Dahlia (Dwarves) at thee Parkside, that is always a good time, there are a couple of photos from a recent parkside show we played (wedding reception.) other than that, we are writing new songs and figuring out where to go next... stick around.

we left the B.O.B. festival, which was an awesome experience! i..ve made more friends than i would have imagine. the night we played, i was more worried about following 7 crowns than playing before the Subhumans, cause they tore it up so well.. i jumped off a stack of speakers and my back and feet feels like an army of cricket players attacked them with bats. Ron broke his bass smashing it on the stage, but we may be able to fix it with duct tape. we flew to germany last night and alf and G/dolf picked us up at the airport. we went to nikki..s bar and stayed the night and they made us an excellent breakfast. their and john and anna..s hospitality was truly beyond the call of duty. the night we played with the short bus window lickers, the singer mark..s mother died. we only met that night, but our heart goes out to him.

First show of the tour we play with the Embers (also from Oakland) in a pub in South London, the two support bands dropped off the bill, but the Short Bus Window Lickers, a great band and our new friends, filled in. the gig was good and afterwards we bought a bunch of beer and went with the embers and M (who put on the gig) to M's flat. we get on the bus and head upstairs.
Immediately, these guys in the back of the bus (about as many as us but some were more involved than others) start yelling at Ron, calling him a big greasy fucker. Ron says fuck you and we confront them. Jesse tells one guy to sit the fuck down and shut the fuck up. then they whip out vodka bottles filled with blue vodka. Dan thought they were plastic bottles at first, and laughed at them.
my account may be a bit hazy, because it was one of those "it happened so fast" sort of things, but the punches and the bottles were flying. Jesse beat a guy with a 12 pack of tall cans, and punched a guy until his hand broke on the guys face. Steve from the embers held one of the guys down and got a nasty bottle smash to the forehead. Ron got punched in the eye pretty badly and had a golf ball type lump coming out of the side of his head that was later replaced by a bloated purple shiner. I punched some guys until i had a bottle broken over the back of my head, got my arm cut open by a bottle, and took something to my eye that cut my eyelid almost all the way across. I figured I'd lost an eye but was grateful i had the other one. Dan suprisingly, didn't get hurt, and he was in the thick of it. the thugs ran bleeding down the street. Timm from the embers and M chased a couple of the guys, and the cops and ambulance arrived. A passenger on the bus that was on before us told us that when these guys got on the bus they surrounded him and punched him in the face. I talked to the police, who were extremely civil and friendly, which put me in a great mood. the police taped off the area and took blood samples. the paramedics checked me out, but they couldn't stitch me up there, so i headed home on a later bus with M. damn! everybody else we've met in england has been really nice, though.

The new Fracas album has been done for some time now. I expect it will be available to purchase in a couple months. Keeping the tradition, we have lost two band members after this album was finished being recorded. James and Joe Selby are no longer with us. On brighter side, we gained two new members. Markly Hart (econo-christ, Strichnine) on the drums and Ron Nichols (Grinch, High Tone Son of a Bitch) on the bass. Both are working out real good. First show with the new line-up is at Annie's Social Club on Oct 27th 2006 with 45 Grave. Don't miss that one. It's gonna be grand.
I uploaded two new songs off the upcoming full length on the Myspace site. check them out -Dan

Fun show last night, even with two of the bands dropping off the bill. Thanks to the LEWD for filling in for DECRY. someone sprayed pepper spray inside the club, which was pretty fucked up (and uncomfortable).

Last night's show at the Golden Bull was fantastic. We had a terrific time and boy were the other bands great. Big props to Everything Must Go and the Texas Thieves especially (mainly because I got there too late to see the Scrawnies - sorry folks) for blowing the doors off the place.
And a big thanks to all of you who came out on a rainy and windy night to rock with us. You get another chance to see us with the Varukers this coming Wednesday at the Oakland Metro.
You'll also notice we've got a couple of shows listed for the Chop Shop coming up. Word on the street is that The Man (tm) busted the Chop Shop and there will be no more shows there. Another word on the street says the shows we have scheduled there are going to be moved. You'll know where as soon as we do.
Cheers.
