I have been a member of The Atlanta Chapter of GoGirlsMusic since February 2008 and I have been so blessed by the friendships created by such a group.
The Atlanta Chapter has worked to give female soloists and bands with at least one female an opportunity to perform at open mic's and showcases all over metro Atlanta and Chattanooga at some fantastic venues. Not only this, but it has spurred some fantastic collaborations. One said collaboration is my recent joining of the band, Lives of the Monster Dogs, formerly known as The Melinda Kingsley Band. I am deeply honored to be a part of this project and it never would've happened had it not been for the Atlanta Chapter.
Also, I have the opportunity to travel to San Francisco in August to perform at an open mic hosted by the San Francisco Chapter on Aug 12th at Cafe Royale. I'm very excited about meeting some of the SF GoGirls...experiencing different styles of music and getting to know some people from across the country.
The GoGirls organization has been a great benefit to me as a soloist. Frankly, I was lonely. Its a lonely excistance for solo artists...and I was desperate for some musical companionship. I stumbled across the GoGirls Website and saw that there was an Atlanta Chapter starting and the first meeting was at a bar open mic that I frequented. It was there I met Anne-Marie Perry and instantly knew I'd met a kindred musical spirit.

You have an opportunity to witness some great music performed by Atlanta Chapter Members this coming Saturday, July 18th at Kavarna in Decatur, GA (707 E Lake Dr).
