Current mood:  nervous

I would like to introduce you to the new EP, "Needs A Little Water." On the surface, its 3 songs that I recorded with my buddies in Atlanta. But more than that, it feels like a vista point on the way to where this whole thing (my life) is going. Where that is, I still have no clue. "Damion Suomi: Self Titled" was released last March and the following months have been a whirlwind of touring, traveling, bar tending, bad food, good people, broken guitar-strings, LA, a move, and a new job. Now, "Needs A Little Water" is about catching your breath and reflecting: 2009 was a learning year. How to tour, how to cope, how to change, how to sell albums (still unknown), and how to fit 4 people, with equipment, in a Ford Ranger pick-up truck. I want to take a moment to thank the people that have helped this happen. The people who have bought the album and played it for their friends. The ones who have sent e-mails and made phone calls to tell me what it means to them. The ones that have played with me, sang with me, and the ones who believe in me. I am humbled and eternally grateful. I suppose the only real goal at this point is to keep going. Keep singing, keep writing, keep touring. Thank you for listening, following, and believing in me. I hope to see you very soon. -Damion
The new EP is now available for pre-order on iTunes(release date is December 1) and it's only $1.99. I've added two of the three new songs (titled "Mustard Seed" and "Burn the Pain") to my MySpace so you can preview them until the EP is available.
You can also download the EP now, at PisforPanda.com.

I'm really excited about this. Check out www.twloha.com/webcast for more details.

Non-Profit OrganizationTO WRITE LOVE ON HER ARMSHosts Live Global Webcast Monday, October 5thFrom Their Florida HeadquartersFeaturing Conversation and Performances ByDamion Suomi and Andy ZipfNew York, NY – September 28, 2009 – To Write Love on Her Arms is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. On October 5th the TWLOHA team will expand their outreach by launching a global outlet for honest conversation and community fused with music by Damion Suomi and Andy Zipf. All the world will be invited to see inside the TWLOHA headquarters via SynchLive. Click here to watch: www.twloha.com/webcastFor 1 week after the webcast, fans can download free music from Damion Suomi and Andy Zipf here:www.twloha.com/webcast“Music is something mysterious in that it has many faces. For the person singing, it is their therapy, their story. For the person listening, it is their inspiration, their hope. The goal is for the conversations that happen in between the songs to be as real and honest as the songs themselves. We are attempting to create an environment where people from all over are invited into a conversation about pain and about hope, but ultimately about redemption. We are inviting people locally, and all over the world through the webcast, to come hang out inside TWLOHA HQ for a couple of hours and have such a conversation. We believe that Hope is given a chance to show up in settings like these,” says Rich Sullivan of To Write Love on Her Arms.“There is a line in TWLOHA’s vision statement that says ‘Beyond treatment, we believe that community is essential, that people need other people, that we were never meant to do life alone.’ It took me a long time, but I now understand what that means. There can be so much healing found in a conversation, in songs, and in just being honest with one another,” says artist Damion Suomi.Damion Suomi and Andy Zipf are both artists on the charity minded record label P is for Panda. The label has offered to give away music off Damion’s recent 2009 release Self Titled, as well as music from Andy Zipf’s upcoming record, Our Voice is a Weapon, to coincide with the event.“I am thrilled that TWLOHA have asked two of the Panda bands to be involved in their first ever webcast. When I dreamt about starting P is for Panda, I wanted to work with artists who did not only want to create art, but also wanted to be involved with the bigger picture. I wanted to partner with artists who shared the passion of helping others. Who believed that this world is a community and we can use our individual talents to help. Teaming up with TWLOHA is a perfect example of what this looks like, ”says Chad Pearson owner of P is for Panda. In an effort to extend the conversation of the evening to people around the world, everyone will have the opportunity to send their questions for Damion and Andy via Twitter by replying to @TWLOHA. Questions will be chosen at random and Damion and Andy will respond to them live during the webcast.TWLOHA began in February 2006, when founder Jamie Tworkowski wrote a story, a glimpse into a friend’s life and her first steps to recovery from drug addiction, self-injury, and depression. The story, titled To Write Love On Her Arms, along with the t-shirts Tworkowski printed to help pay for his friend’s recovery, started a movement, not only within his local Orlando, FL community, but one that was swiftly embraced by people everywhere. Many bands (Paramore, Thrice, Anberlin, Switchfoot, Bayside, The Almost) quickly picked up the message, informed their fans, and started finding new ways to donate to the cause and help out.For more on To Write Love on Her Arms:

The rains keep falling in FL and we are very happy about that. I hope this bulletin finds you well wherever you may be.

First and foremost a big thank you to everyone who came/worked/played at the Orange You Glad Fest last weekend. I had awesome time and was introduced to some great bands. Check out Richard Sherfey

Onward and upward. This weekend I will be at The Social in downtown Orlando with Gasoline Heart, John Ralston, and The Poverty Branch. I've been looking forward to this show for awhile. Great bands at my favorite place to play, and its located across the street from my favorite pub in Orlando. Shivawn will be joining me with her fiddle once again, and I've got a couple of new songs I'll be trying out as well. If you're coming to the show, let me know in advance (message me on Myspace). I have pre-sale tickets to sell and they are a couple dollars cheaper than at the door. I can sell these to you prior to the doors opening the day of the show if you'd like to meet downtown.

Radio Show: This Friday at 12:00pm I will be on 89.5 FM WFIT in Melbourne, FL. You can listen on the dial or, if you arent local, you can listen in at WFIT.org . We are going to be giving away tickets to this Saturday's show at The Social, as well as for the House of Blues show on July 2nd, (which I will tell you more about in the next update...)

Live track download: Right now, you can download a Live version of "Darwin, Jesus, The Devil and Me" that was recorded in the Paste Magazine studio. Go to Paste Magazine. It is featured all week as part of their "mp3 of the week" spotlight.

I'll leave you with a video that was recorded during laundry day while out on my last tour. It's a song that is not on the record. Hope you like it.

Thanks again to everyone that has bought the album. Please spread it around. It can't go anywhere with out you.

The Tale of Archer Woman by Jessica L Moore

the archer woman has been portrayed in many different lights -- one man described her as having a lot of pain, a broken heart and in no need of a man. She may have been written off as having a faulty heart, but that is not true--for it beats strong and warm to this day.

the archer woman no longer wears this armor and no longer fights her love. she has an old soul; one that wore amour, rode a warhorse, and defended the people with a very sharp sword. This soul is the remnants of all survivors, serves as a symbol of courage and she is within you.
