Hey hey...

If some of you haven't heard, unfortunately Rich our handsome guitarist has taken up an internship in London so won't be playing with us anymore. From what I hear it’s an offer he couldn't refuse, so we wish him all the luck in the world.

We've had an ace time gigging with Rich, so he'll be very much missed.

So, anyone who any sexy guitarists?

Hello there lovely people,
The Bribes have been busy beavering away over the last month or so in the rehearsal room, writing and perfecting some new tunes and generally just combing our hair and applying moisturiser, ready for you to enjoy us on stage once again.
If you would care to burst your ear drums in excitement then we will be playing at the cockpit on Saturday 18th April supporting The Days. If you would like a ticket then let us know and we'll happily supply one. Doors should open at 7.30pm. Hope to see you down there!

Hello there! Joseph speaking here. Tim finally ran out of excuses and has foolishly provided me with the necessary passwords to access the band's Myspace... Ha! ( : He even says I am allowed to do things like post blogs and upload photos. How nice is that?! What a lovely chap, even if he is a bit foreign sounding.. I mean, you can barely understand the guy.

Right, what are The Bribes up to at the moment? Well, we start rehearsing properly again after Christmas/New Year this week, and the idea is to get as many new tunes up and running before The Cockpit gig on February 6th as possible. We would have started earlier but Dearest John has had the flu. I rang him up, I was like "JESUS! Come on bro! Get with the program already.. Flu is so last week!" That told him. ( : Anyway, some of the songs in our current set-list are apparently pretty ancient and I think that John, Dan and Tim are getting a bit bored of them. I wonder which ones we will keep on playing...

It's exciting! We're evolving man! I mean, don't worry or owt. We're not doing anything radically different, but you can't expect two fifths of a band's members to change without at least a little, tiny, mini change in direction! ( : I think the new stuff sounds a bit more streamlined with a very slightly epic feel. The sound is consistent with the old shit but I think we are going to mix it up with regards to tempos and generally try and make the set a bit more dynamic. Also you can expect up to 60% more solos of the extreme face-melting variety. Which reminds me, just before christmas, we did a show (with Tom filling in, cheers bro) where Tim, John and Tom persuaded us to play the whole set in Santa hats, beards and SKIN-TIGHT IMITATION LEATHER LEGGINGS. Afterwards a bunch of people came up and told us that they could pretty much see our bits hanging out. Thanks guys, thanks a bunch.

After this show I think we are hoping to sort out stuff like photoshoots, videos and studio-time. Tim has been going on for ages about doing a bit of an overhaul on here and the bribes.co.uk site, so hopefully that'll get done eventually. Also, I want to talk touring. Lets take this badboy on the road.

The Bribes didn't make it through to play Leeds/Reading Festival this summer but......a huge thanks to futuresound for giving us the chance, it was a privilege to be considered and we enjoyed being a part of it. Congrats to our mates the Humour who were included in the 5 bands that got through, well done boys!

Tis a sad time for The Bribes as our beloved band members, bass player Nick aka "T" and our Guitarist Andy aka "Tony" leave the shores of old blighty and head for warmer climates. Both lads are doing a bit of travelling and generally aim to get into as many foreign people's pants as possible. Good on them I say!

They will be huuuuuugely missed. Not only are they ace musicians but dear friends of ours too. Think I speak for Tim and Dan when I say we have some awesome memories to cherish (wipes a tear away, sob sob). Stay safe boys and remember to see a doctor immediately if you pick up any strange genital rashes. That shit can be disabilitating.
