New York’s Rachael Sage To
Appear On New “Fame” Film Soundtrack
New York, NY – MPress
Records is pleased to announce that Rachael
Sage’s song “Too Many Women”
will be featured in the new “Fame” film hitting theatres on September 25,
2009. The soundtrack album will be
available for digital and physical purchase nationally on August 25, 2009. “Too
Many Women”, which also appears on Sage’s critically acclaimed album “Public
Record”, was hand-picked by director Kevin Tancharoen, and remixed by Damon
Elliot specifically for the movie.
Rachael Sage’s song appears on the
“Fame” soundtrack alongside such notable artists as Santigold, Naturi Naughton, Meghan Mullally and Sam Sparro. For a full track-listing,

Being involved in this
project carries special meaning for Sage, who reveals: “When I saw ‘Fame’ as a
kid, the characters resonated with me so much...By the time the TV series came
out I’d already decided I wanted to grow up to be a combination of Leroy, Coco
and Bruno – who definitely inspired me to get my first synthesizer!”
As a teenager, Sage’s
passion for dance ultimately carried her to the renowned School of American
Ballet (located directly across the street from the performing arts high school
upon which “Fame” was based). “A
lot of dancers at S.A.B also attended the High School For Performing Arts, so
there’s definitely a big nostalgia-factor for me.” Sage eventually performed with the New York City Ballet, and
also studied at the legendary Actors Studio, before turning her focus entirely
toward being a musician.
About the Film:
A reinvention of the
original Oscar®-winning hit film, Fame follows a talented group of dancers,
singers, actors, and artists over four years at the New York City High School
for Performing Arts. In an incredibly competitive atmosphere, plagued by
self-doubt, each student’s passion will be put to the test. With the love and
support of their friend and fellow artists, they’ll find out who amongst them
will achieve Fame.
The cast includes a
host of newcomers in the student roles, but fans of the original film will be
pleased to find Debbie Allen recast
as Principal Angela Simms; the faculty casting also features such luminary
talent as Kelsey Grammer, Megan Mullally and Bebe Neuwirth. For further information on the film, visit: www.generationfame.com.
About Rachael Sage:
Self-taught musician,
poet and producer Rachael Sage

innovative, improvisational keyboardist, she performs over 150 dates a year
with her band The Sequins throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Sage, who
has shared stages with Ani DiFranco, Colin Hay, The Animals and Judy Collins,
was recently named one of the Top 100 Independent Artists Of The Past 15 Years
by Performing Songwriter magazine. A two-time Independent Music

poetic lyrics and often-outrageous, colorful stage banter.
Her latest
self-produced album, CHANDELIER, was mixed by Kevin Killen (U2, Elvis Costello), and contains 13 tracks of what Performing Songwriter magazine calls
“engaging pop arrangements and gripping melodies”.
Fresh from her
successful run in Scotland at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival, Rachael Sage brings her new show “Sequins & Shpiel” to the West
Coast. Be sure to check out her
live rendition of the song “Fame” that The Herald (Edinburgh) calls the
