THE SABU MARTINEZ TRIBUTE NIGHT at BOLANCHE (Rockfickan) in Borlänge
12th of December.


From the beginning it was just ment to be a private and isolated event for the musicians that participated with Sabu Martinez during his years in Dalecarlia..

The rumour is spread and people from all over Sweden has reached the news by the word of mouth...
The venue owners has decided to let the whole night go in the spirit of Sabu Martinez so be preperd for a complete insane filthy freakout party in the very end the first decade of this new century...


Among the musicians who will appear on this already "classic" night one can find:
RENÉ MARTINEZ (yes it is Sabu´s son) on percussion.

René has travelled all the way from Israel for this event.

If you wonder why it has been so quite on the front so can I tell that reason is our new upcoming releases.
The 1st of December is the release date for the following titles:
MELLOCD 31 SABU MARTINEZ - Maldito Primitivo "The Swedish Radio Recordings 1977"
MELLOLP 8 SABU MARTINEZ - Maldito Primitivo "The Swedish Radio Recordings 1977"
and
MELLOCD 32 SABU MARTINEZ - The Dalecarlia Recordings 1971-72
MELLOLP 9 SABU MARTINEZ -  The Dalecarlia Recordings 1971-72

Maldito Primitivo was a band with Sabu, his two sons and various talented musicians...
On the Mariahissen recording which are included on our next release are there 11 people on stage and
musically they sounds like if Soft Machine had recorded an album in Puerto Rico.
The guitarplayer Amedeo Nicoletti plays wonderful and one can hear that Richard Rolf from November
has been inspired by him.
The Dalecarlia Recordings inclueds a percussion musical which Sabu Martinez composed and arranged. . All the musical content was performed by Sabu..s pupils who also appeared on the Afro Temple album. The tapes have been buried deep down in the vaults of the KSB studio ever since the recording session took place back in 1971. Here they are now presented for the first time.

The Dalecarlia Recordings also includes music from the album Aurora Borealis and some exciting live material with Bortalaget and Björbobandet. All recordings from my old high school.

The producer and host Hasse Pettersson has invited me and the drummer Stephan Möller for an interview. Möller is a living legend who has played with Sabu Martinez on both Afro Tempel and Burned Sugar.

Dear friends!
Now is it less than 48 hours left to the MELLO CLUB Christmas party at Café Edenborg in old town in Stockholm.
I am filled excitment for what Roger Wootton and PIU has on their repertoire.
Roger Wootton, singer in the English band COMUS will join us for two days of immortal music. He is backed up by PIU which is one of the most promising bands from Sweden these days.

Have received some info that they will perform music from both FIRST UTTERANCE and the TO KEEP FROM CRYING album. Have also heard that they will perform a never before heard COMUS song called "Out of the Coma". All guests will be served delicious GLÖGG and Swedish pepper cakes.

Roger Wootton who is a phenomenal artist/illustrator has created a spectacular MELLO CLUB Christmas Card and a numbered and signed painting of a cruel Santa Claus. These paintings can be bought with or without frame. A limited quantity of the LP version of KRAFTWERK..s - Organisation Tone Float will be available if someone wants a Roger Wootton signed copy. (Roger painted the front sleeve on this highly collectable LP)
 
I am blessed to have such a wonderful honour to present the very first solo performance of Roger Wotton and PIU.
Welcome all good friends to a (anti) Christ mass party with the godfather of frightening lyrics in the Death Metal vein!!!

Han ackompanieras av det svenska "acid" folkbandet PIU.
Vi kan förvänta oss musik från både FIRST UTTERANCE och TO KEEP FROM CRYING.
Har också hört rykten om att en icke tidigare framförd Comus låt kallad "Out of the coma" kommer att framföras!

Roger som även är en fenomenal illustratör/konstnär har skapat ett MELLO CLUB julkort av sällan skådat slag. En Roger Woottonmålning med en mordisk tomte kommer även att finnas att tillgå. (med eller utan ram)

Roger Wootton målade omslaget till KRAFTWERKs första platta, Organisation Tone Float.
En mycket begränsad vinylupplaga kommer att tillhandahållas för alla som är intresserade av ett signerat exemplar.

Det bjuds på glögg, pepparkakor, sång och musik från en av världens mest säregna sångare.
En av våra medlemmar sa såhär förra veckan:

Burned Sugar was recorded live in front of an audience at the Swedish Radio (Stockholm) in april 1973. These recordings are something really spectacular.

 Winds & Skins was recorded 13th of December 1978 (exactly one month before Sabu..s untimely death)

On the Winds and Skins recording Shihab Shihab delivers some of the funkiest and most mind-blowing notes ever performed on an electrified sax.

Johnny Martinez who plays percussion on the Winds & Skins album will hang around at the MELLO CLUB the 19th of November.

 4. Tuesday the 18th of November will our friend Lasse Wennberg have a special release party to celebrate his frames specially made for LPs.

2. Så var det äntligen dags för November månads MELLO CLUB.

19:e November spelar FLÄSKET BRINNER eget material plus lite Bosse Hansson och skönt Reebop-sväng. Det kommer att bli drag. Vi släppte in 95 personer på Trettioåriga Krigets gig förra månaden och vi vågar nog inte släppa in fler på Onsdag så det är helt enkelt först till kvarn om ni inte redan bokat biljett.... Det kommer att bli en helt fantastisk kväll.

4. Tisdagen den 18:e November är det äntligen dags för premiären av Lasse Wennbergs utomordentligt vackra LP ramar. Ramarna är gjorda i riktigt trä med riktigt glas. Snygga LP omslag förtjänar att sitta snyggt inramade i varje hem. Festen hålls på Restaurant ZEBRA DANS på RENSTIERNAS GATA 48 (Södermalm, Stockholm)

Det är öppet mellan 16:00 till 21:00.

Vi är självklart där med ett fett lass LPs med snygga omslag.

5. Den 20:e Februari hålls en festival i Södertälje. Festivalen kallas Fredagshornet.

 Banden som lirar är:

 Kebnekajse (Stenhård svensk folkrock med Kenny Håkansson)

Wasa Express (Superfusion med Åke Eriksson och hans vänner)

Hot Lanta(lokal trio som spelar med influenser från Robin Trower, Frank Marino, Captain Beyond och Colosseum II)

Festivalen hålls på Trombon i Södertälje. Trombon ligger ca 200 meter från pendeltågsstationen Södertälje Centrum. Biljetterna säljs via Ticnet och kommer att kosta 195 kronor.
