That's right.
Today marks the anniversary of HR's very first show ever of all time...
September 8th at the Across The Street Bar.
This was the day we broke out into the world and came together as a band.
From then till now...
Wow, we've come a long long way.
I'm more proud of my boys right now than I ever have been in the whole 2 years we've every been together.
Thank you all to have followed us and had our backs around every turn. If it wasn't for you guys, we'd be no where.
We love our fans more than anything.
So, 2 years later, we think it's time for a change.
New music. New layouts. New style. New pictures. New everything.
Look forward to what's about to happen. Because everything you knew before... is gone as of now.
Keep in touch, Romantics...
Shit's about to get real.
Right On. ~Chambers

As you know, we've been blacklisted at Reno's Chop Shop.
It's funny, because if you guys know us at all, we have more respect for venues, and for people who give us a chance to play our music than just about anything. Now imagine, for just a second, if someone who could give you a tiny piece of your dream, and little by little, and over time, you could put your dream together with these pieces. Then one day, one of those people who offers a piece you're missing says, sorry, I don't feel like giving it you, and they said it like that but they have no reason. How would you feel?
Well, we're furious, and we're not going down without a fight. These are our dreams, our lives, and our future, and there isn't one person in this world who will ever fuck with us and try to take it away. Not, at least, without a fight.
For those of you who don't know what happened, 6-7 months ago, we played a show at Reno's Chop Shop with a band from L.A. (problem #1). During this show, one of the band members from that band broke my guitar in half. I became furious, got up in his face, demanded money to replace it, or else. Well, of course he wouldn't take responsibility for it, claiming it was an accident and that he shouldn't have to pay for it. So, I took it up with the owner and said, do something about this or there is going to be a large problem in this place. So, the owner went and talked to people then said, Sorry, nothing I can do. Pack up your things and get out, you're causing too many problems here.
How is this fair, you're asking?
It's not. We got fucked. We did nothing wrong, and did our best to deal with it correctly.
Well, I refuse to be walked on and pushed aside, so I waited for that band to finish up the set so that I could talk to the person who did it, outside. But, of course, the band packed up, and jetted back to L.A., thus leaving us without money or a guitar.
If that wasn't enough, we're not allowed to step foot in Reno's, ever again, not that we'd want to (that place is so trashy). Apparently all we did the whole night was, and I quote, "Sit around talking shit, and not buying any drinks at the bar."
Want to know what's funny about that statement?
We brought that place more money off of our fans than that place makes just by being a bar. Sad.
So, anyways, we're doing Bike Night at High Five Cycles again, this coming Thursday. If you didn't come to the last one, it's a blast. It's free. You should come, and bring everyone you know.
Allow me to close with this: Alan (owner of Reno's), you're scum. You are really the biggest piece of shit I've ever had the unfortunate pleasure of knowing. You're the lowest of the low. You're the filthiest of the bile and grime on the bottom of the shoe of humanity.
May your judgment day be of the most unfortunate.
Right On. ~Chambers

First off, Let me apologize for totally just dropping the whole journal/blog thing. There just wasn't anything going on for me to type everyday about. Otherwise it would have just been a quick, "hey, we're going to record, see ya later!" That's just no fun. So, I'll update once a week from here on. Check it out, we just recorded all of the band yesterday. 12 hours, 8 songs. Ready for the final list? 1)Breathe 2)Hazey Illuminated 3)May This Begin Your End 4)Even Death Has a Heart 5)Nothing Left But The Sky 6)Revolver, Evolver 7)A lotta Good Riff 8)For All My Pain There it is. Now, this coming week, it's my turn. I get to spend hours and hours doing vocal tracks. James will be there, too! After that, mixing and mastering, then it'll all be done and ready to go!!! So, give us till May and you'll have a brand new, full length, professional CD. Expect a documentary, as well. Kevin and Drew (our own personal filmogrophers) filmed all day yesterday. It's gunna be awesome!!! Let's move on though. Bloodapalooza - Tattoo and Music festival, featuring bands from all around and locally including: Drowning Pool, Neverset, and yours truely, Hopeless Romantica. We are playing at Noon on Easter Sunday. It kinda sucks considering the day, but it's still going to be an AMAZING concert. You totally need to be there. It's at the Sterling Hotel in Downtown Dallas. Info can be found: www.Bloodapalooza.comAnd the offical myspace can be found on our top friends. If you want to come, or need more info or whatever from us, shoot us a message or comment or whatever you want to do. I'm out of here for now. But, as usual, I'll leave you with this. I'd just like to say that music is everything and everywhere. Music is the greatest thing to ever be brought into the world. From rock to classical, to banging on pots and pans. There is no escaping music. Anyone can do it. You may not be good at it, but fact of the matter, it's there. What I'm trying to say is, it is impossible to live without music. In closing... Music = Life. Today's Topic: Music and Life Today's Quote: "Music doesn't lie. If there is something to be changed in this world, then it can only happen through music." - Jimi Hendrix Today's Song: "Raised On Rock" - Elvis Presley Right On. ~Chambers

A blog a day didn't work out to well... honestly we do not have enough interesting material to keep up with a blog a day simply about us. Hopefully AFTER recording we will have more time to work on music videos and funny videos to post up each week. For now, I will just fill you all in on what's up. We were supposed to record yesterday, but an unfortunate event happened to Zeno and we had to be pushed back a week. This does however allow us to work on a new solo section in "For All My Pain" that so far sounds pretty good, we are just finishing up a transition out of that section back in to the original song. As of now we are scheduled to record all the instruments (no vocals) on March 28, 2009 and we'll be recording video of it all as well. You can also expect to see Live Streaming Video of us recording, but I am not yet sure if there will be audio or not... Come take a gander anyways because the room we are recording in is huge and well worth a look! We'll be streaming our practice live today at around 5:30PM. It will probably be a fairly light practice. I was deleting files on the desktop computer we use for streaming and I came across an old recording of "Reborn" that we made during a practice back in November of 2008. It's a pretty rough recording, but it is the only old song we have NO recordings for whatsoever. So here it is. We won't be recording this song on the new CD, it still needs a lot of work. This song has actually been re-written and re-titled more times than James, Sean, and Anna have posted blogs. Maybe that's a bad example... We'll post a better history of this song the next time we re-write it :-D What's Happenin'?!March, 28, 2009 - All Day - Recording the instruments for the next CD at Luminous Sound April 12, 2009 - 11AM - Playing at Bloodapalooza Be on the lookout for the HR Street Team, I just accepted a friend request from them!

So, as you read in yesterday's post, I was celebrating my girlfriends birthday and never was around a computer to do anything. However, even though it was late, Justin stepped up and brought it. Let's give a round of applause. *enter round of applause here* So, let's talk news. On top of us working on our songs to get ready for recording, we are in the midst of writing 3 new songs on the side. Look forward to those, they're going to be awesome. Want to know what's going to be on our CD? I tell ya what... Everyday for the next 10 days, starting today, I will name one song. Ready? 1) May This Begin Your End For those of you who have heard it live, it's an amazing song. To those of you who haven't, then this is a new song to you. However, there is a live recording of it on our page. Not on the myspace player, but the AudioFight player below our blogs. Check it out. What would you guys think of a webcasted show, say 30mins, maybe an hour, of James and I doing some of our songs (and maybe others) acoustic? It's been in the talks for a couple of months. If you guys would be interested in watching it, then we'll do it. We'll even have a request box. Write your name, where you're from, and the song you'd like to hear us do. (song name, and band) Then we'll read it out and dedicate the song to you. Hell, we'll even give out our phone number for you to call and do a live request. We'll have more info on that later. (dates and times and what not.) I need to be off to band practice. By the way, the webcam is up and going, so check us out jammin tonight and come play with and control the lights, 6CST, as we continue on the long road to the studio. www.hopelessromantica.comLately, I've become a victim of financial difficulty. Usually, I'd be able to go out to eat, or go see a movie, or do anything fun whenever I wanted to. But, I no longer have a job (due to Starbucks and their problems) and my parents now live in Kansas. So, I don't really have much to fall back on. I've been getting help, though, through friends, my girlfriend, her family, and every now and then my amazing parents will send me money to help out. First off let me say, thank you to every single one of you that never turn your back on me. I love all of you. But, that's not what this is about. Basically, through it all, I've been angry, I've been depressed, I've been flat out worn out from trying to get another job and being turned down. But one thing I've never done, is give up. I believe that one way or another, I'm going to be okay. As long as I don't just say, "It's over. There is nothing left I can do." I'll never give up, I know things will be okay, but only if make them, and let them. Your life is what you make it, so make it what you want it to be. John might not be able to post today because it is AJ's Birthday! Happy Birthday! But that means I am going to have to take a swing at making a decent blog post! :-O I'll try to keep the awkward moments down to as few as Jimmy Fallon has had in his first days... First off, I must point out that our Live Video Stream is back online with 3 Light Controls! You can simply go to our website, http://HopelessRomantica.com and you should see a yellow bar with buttons to turn things on and a video stream right below. I am not yet sure if we will have audio or not yet... If we do it will probably not be anything you want to hear because we are practicing our hardest songs tomorrow with the metronome. If you have any ideas for things you would like to be able to turn on and off, such as a fan or a lamp, leave us comments about it here! If you love lamp, we love lamp! Just keep the grenades and tridents to yourself... oOoO... here's a good transition from that! Erm Hmm :: clears throat :: Now here is something you shouldn't keep to yourself! Our Music! You know that old cliche about that dumb tree that fell in the forrest and nobody heard it, the same goes for us! We'd really appreciate it if you told somebody about us, added us to your top friends, or added a link to us. And to those of you out there that may wish to see us fall like that tree, help us grow first, and then when you chop us down we will make a bigger noise! Here is a little image you can add to your profiles: I am not near as poetic as John with his topics and quotes and such... in fact, I am about as po-etic as an anvil is kin-etic? (Physics Joke?) Anyways, I choose the topic of Integrity. The lack of integrity is what causes hardships such as the current financial crisis our nation is in, but in relation to music, lying has always been a major thing to watch out for in the Music Industry. Many people in this business will promise you the world just to make a quick buck. My favorite band, Dream Theater, was almost destroyed when a record label promised them music videos and tours, but actual only gave them an album that had been heavily moderated by the company instead of the musicians. The important thing to do, in life and music, is to never give up and never lose your own integrity. If you stoop down to their level it is an endless cycle of deceipt. When you rise above, the possibilities are endless. Lying, cheating, and stealing are great for the short term, but true success comes from the long term achievement of doing things the right way. Today's Topic: Integrity Today's Quote: "You sin, you win" - "Lie" - Dream Theater Todays's Song: "The Prince of the Power of the Air" - Neal Morse Here's some video of it from a live performance: Hope to see y'all online tomorrow! - Justin
