We've just completed another remix for our favorite Danish power-pop 4-piece, When Saints Go Machine! These guys are like, so hot right now. We are not even worthy to be nibbling their Danish Butter Cookies! But, here we are with two remixes for them...and we tricked them into collaborating on a track with us as well! Suckers! (Watch for that one coming soon. It is going to be ridiculous, in every possible sense of the word.)

Check out our totally sweet MySpace page to hear the remix. It's the first song in the player, so you don't even have to do anything once you get there. It will magically start playing all on its own! As if it were being controlled by magical gnomes living inside your computer. Imagine that!

Love,
The Jacob Londons

Sup Bruv!

We here at Music Situation are all warm and toasty inside because we have been roasting our nuts over the open flame of house music. Yes.  The Thanksgiving holiday is just days away and there are so many things that we here at Music Situation are thankful for.

Mostly we are thankful that the long awaited official release of Maxi's new single Pull Up Your Pants hit the stores today and is already turned into a steaming pile of success on Beatport - climbing the indie dance chart in the first days of the release.

Originally self released by Maxi, the single has been freshly digitally repackaged by the Music Situation product design team with brand new album art and beefy remastering job by the folks at Seattle's Polyclinic.

The orignial track is a smooth electro pop masterpiece featuring vocals by Tom Bridgman of the band The Fitness while Music Situation's resident producers Jacob London turn the track around into an electrifying floor filler all in the name of dance rock.

Thats all for now.  Have a great holiday!

Two new tracks, bound for release sometime in the near future - but you can hear them NOW...right here! Technology. It is amazing, no? This technology allows you to hear these new tracks that are in our player from wherever you are in the universe! We just finished one of them yesterday, and now people in Fiji can hear them today! Think of the bears; they don't have this kind of technology. If a bear makes a new track yesterday, maybe only a few other bears can hear it. Haha. Bears! So dumb. We have recycling, steam power, Mt. Kilimanjaro, horses, Bohannon, dookie cups, furries, queens, spackle, and iodine. What do bears have? Nothing. They can catch fish and scratch their backs on trees. Big whoop! They don't even know how under-priveledged they are.

I, Bob Hansen, have started up a solo project. To celebrate the starting of this solo project, I have put together a MySpace page. On this page, you can endure musical tracks, an old phone, a chicken, and a bunch of words. Enjoy!

With the French revolution reaching its' tipping point, and a band wagon that should be way too full for newcomers, Siriusmo jumps on the hype train about 2 stops from the station. It comes equipped with all the Siriusmo-isms that you'd expect - distinctive warm synth hooks and solos fitting properly with crisp saturated drums and an overall top notch production quality. Managing to sound like Daft Punk, Justice, Jackson, and Oizo all in the space of one 12" is an impressive feat, but we're hoping he gets back to doing what he does best: sounding like Siriusmo.

Might be late in the game for rehashing 2007's accomplishments, but since then we have yet to be blown away by anything as much as this seemingly-overlooked gem. Four years in the making, with a decidedly edgier and more abstract take on soul, R&B, and jazz than their previous album, Poes brings together a mass of featured guests including Benny Sings, Mocky, and longtime Jacob London fave Harco Pront. There's plenty of great material here spanning more than a few genres, but our favorite dancefloor tracks are "Best Deejay" (deceptively simple in its ass-kicking ability), and the poo-fueled, "Your Shit".

So last night I had the rare opportunity to DJ in Seattle with our old friend Mr. Jay Tripwire.  The plan was that I was just going to go and do the opening gig, and hang out for a little bit then run home.  But it turned out that no hotel room was booked for him, and all the hotels in the city were booked up for a conference.  So I decided to offer up my place, which also meant I was in it for the long haul at the See Sound Lounge.

By the end of the night we were both incredibly trashed.  The last thing I remember was getting out of the cab.

I woke up on the couch in the morning and found Jay curled up on the hardwood floor in front of my desk, where he apparently slept all night.   He had 45 minutes to catch his plane so I sent him off in a cab to the airport.

Then today I went in to check my myspace messages and found a bunch of replies to a blog that we (he) poseted titled "FINALLY we are now married".  The blog read "everynight we masturbate for each other...now we can drink each others cream of wheat...mmmmso delicous,,,,,"

It looks like he also sent a bunch of gay themed personal messages to a whole mess of people from our inbox. So if you got one from us.  Well, Ha!  Jokes on us.

I was recently waiting for a haircut and read in the worn XLR8R that there might be some Calvin Harris-produced songs on the new Kylie Minogue album. I was like, "What?" Then I got my haircut. The album's out now, and I acquired only the two Calvin Harris ("CH" from here on out) tracks because, really, I don't give a crap about Kylie Minogue. She looks good for her age, but aside from that she's basically worthless. To me, anyway. I'm sure her children, if she has any, would think otherwise.

The first of the CH tracks, situated at an impressive 3 in the track list, is basically a CH song without the CH in it. 'In My Arms' would be MUCH better with the aforementioned CH doing the vocal duties. I'm listening to it and it's really giving me some bad feelings. If there wasn't a cat in my lap being cute and trying to keep me from writing this, I'd be really pissed off right now. Actually, this song could probably just not exist at all. It's exactly like songs CH has already done that don't have ridiculously stupid female pop vocals all over them.

If you listen to both of these songs, I recommend 'Hearts Beat Rock' 2nd - it sort of makes it all better. It's pretty different for CH, while still keeping that awesome CH flavor. Even Kylie sounds ok here, aside from the faux-Uffie bits. She does pull it off better than Uffie though, even if only a little bit. With a really amazing vocal (I'd recommend Taprikk Sweezee), this would be an amazing song. But as it is, it's just a cute pop song with a kick-ass beat.

THE END

Cheers,
Bob of the Jacob Londons
