Hello World!
So this year for me and the band has been to put lightly, AWESOME! I've toured the country, played some of the funnest (is that a word?) places you could play in LA and most importantly, made connections with so many people around the country. I wanted to sincerely say, THANK YOU to you all!
Also, we will be playing our end of the year Christmas Show at Genghis Cohen this Saturday, Dec. 12th at 8PM! We will have X-mas cookies and loads of fun for you all!. If you listen to the page and have never met us, PLEASE come up to us after and say "hi!" We'll have a drink, a smoke, a run from the cops, whatever comes our way : ) I kid, I kid.
Oh, and don't forget, a new CD and lots of new shows are coming your way in the new year!
Happy Holidays!!

Good question!
OK- so here it is, I am on tour right now, currently hanging out with some great friends in Philly (the Josh and Pete Band). It's been a long road from Maine to Nashville, NC, DC, VA, MD, NYC, blah blah fucking blah! But it's been great and if anyone reads this who met me the past few weeks I just want to say thanks for the support, the drink, buying the album, etc! It's great to be able to meet so many people in random cities and be supported and befriended.
So, what's next?! We'll be recording a new EP in January, it's going to be different, big sounding, all about being in your young 20's in LA and travelling the country...so booze, no money, love interests, missing home and late night dining.
For now, check out some live in studio performances we did at Chessvolt Studios in LA:

Hey all!
Just wanted to give ya an update as it's been a while!! We've been playing all over the East Coast and now back in LA too! Thanks to everyone who came out to shows back East, it was a great time and I met some real cool people. I even got to play back in my home town area in Portland, ME! Also, thanks to those who came out to Genghis Cohen this Saturday, it was a great time and we had FUN!!
We have some great stuff coming up! I'll be playing at the UCB Theater on Sunday May 31st for their popular show, "Asssscat"! They have a great cast who's been on many shows and all that so it will be real funny!
Also, we'll be shooting a live recording session at Chessvolt Studios for Luxury Wafers in June so you'll have some great live footage to look forward to as well!
For those of you back East, a Fall tour is in the works too!
Alright, gotta run! Take care and love your neighbor, or some shit like that.

Hey hey!
Hope everyone is having a good new year! It's been a busy four weeks for me. I will be a Feature Artist on KCAL9's "SoCal Now" TV show, that airs on this Thursday, January 29th, @ 6:30 AM. I'll make sure to post vids of the feature soon!
Also for those in the LA area, I am playing at Genghis Cohen on this Saturday January 31st @ 8 PM. Check the shows section for more info. It should be a good one. I got a full band behind me : )
On a much more personal note, my body is finally recovering from a little X-mas sledding injury I had (it may have been alcohol influenced, may not have been). In short, I believe I severly brusied my bum and had a sack of fluid on my shoulder for a good two weeks but the pain is all gone now and everything looks normal. Too much information? sorry. Anyway, I healed right in time for a busy end of the month!...I'm an idiot. Liquor+Sledding=Moronic. I'll put pictures up of this incident sometime too. I am wearing a lacrosse helmet and a feathered jacket, it's hot.
Have a good week everyone!

Hey everyoneee,
Just played the CD Release show last night and it was a bunch of fun! Thanks to everyone who came out! Also, Check out this interview I just did with Boston Music Spotlight:
"It's generally a good thing when your drummer is a fan of your band. It's an even better thing when your drummer is also the drummer for Ryan Adams and The Cardinals and he says, "John Paul's debut record, Belmont Boulevard, is a fantastic collection of songs reminiscent of Ryan Adams and Paul Westerburg. Excellent songs, great hooks, and honest delivery...If you like good music, you will love this record!"
Boston's John Paul has more going for him than high praise from Brad Pemberton. The singer / songwriter plays Copperfields this Friday in support of his debut solo album Belmont Boulevard, out now on Independant. Paul's polished songs have been spinning on college radio stations across the country including our very own 88.9 WERS. "I just want to get as much attention for it as possible," says Paul. "I found the right people and got the sound that I really wanted, and I feel like this is my first true, honest effort to get my music out there."
To get that sound Paul did the record live in Nashville over a two day period with accomplished session musicians including Pemberton, Dan Dugmore (Tim McGraw, James Taylor, Neil Diamond), and Billy Mercer (Ryan Adams) among others. The result is a tightly packaged collection of songs with a definite hint of Tennessee twang. Standouts include "45" and "21" (not all songs have numbered titles), both of which combine concise pop hooks with more narrative verses.
Paul, who is also the frontman for Boston's The Black Tie Affair, says that he took a bit of a different approach to his solo material. "I've been really trying to have the songs about specific subject matter," he says. "I've been writing outside of myself a lot, there are definitely some songs about me, like '21', but a lot of the other songs I wrote from outside my perspective."
Some may be skeptical about a 22 year old writing about a young girl's premature death, but Paul handles "Way Too Soon" like a grizzled veteran, from his rough around the edges verse delivery to the soaring chorus. The song is a fitting bookend to an album that begins with "21" and the line, "Cause seventeen / Was everything / She was full of life / Now she can hardly breathe."
Fans heading to the Copperfields show looking for the bombast of "Way Too Soon" or the harder edges of the album will have to be satisfied with the album, as Paul will be accompanied by much more subdued accompaniment, including a slide guitar, no bass, drums with brushes, and a female backup singer. "I really wanted to step away from the record to see if we could take it in a different direction," Paul says of the live show. "It definitely works, it was a little tricky at first, but it works."
Belmont Boulevard works as well, a solid debut with plenty of flashes of promise and several moments of already realized potential. While Paul may not be Ryan Adams just yet, it's good to see him setting the bar high. There will be more people than the drummer who like his music very soon.
John Paul plays Copperfields on Friday, July 18. His album Belmont Boulevard is available at myspace.com/thejohnpaul (which features a hip-hop remix of "21" as a bonus) as well as iTunes"

Helllooooo,
I suck at keeping this blog updated, obviously, given a lot of things have changed since April. The record is done and I'll be playing a CD Release on July 19th with a great backing band in Boston. The band is friends I have been jamming with and we have a cute as fuck sound now...whatever fuck sounds like?
More importantly, college radio stations across the country have been supporting the record and spinning it! As of today, 134 stations have added the record and many are giving it a good amount of spins! Thank you very much to all the stations that have supported the record!
Also, I shot a music video with some friends in Boston and its kind of coooool so check it out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBE8lleWJwg
What else what else, I'll be doing an EP in Boston this summer with those friends that make the cute as fuck sounds and Ill probably show that to you at some point as well : )
As for now, It's 90 degrees out and my clothes are sticking to me so I am going to the beach.
Laterrrr
JP
P.S. Be on the lookout for a remix on my music player for the song "21", it's quite funnny
