Oh yes, yes and yes!

A heavy rock anthem with ass-whipping drumming, blasphemous riffs and everlasting story about love, frustration & despair, even hate.

That is, our newborn sin: a song called "The Words Are For... "

Lovers, loners & boozers - enjoy!

Yours,

STILL ILL

August 18, 2009 - Tuesday
Like I told you before, our bassman Carlos (aka Toni) decided to leave us just before the summer. He wants to fully concentrate on his new band, OMNIUM GATHERUM, which is a very promising Finnish metal band. They will be touring all over Europe this autumn, go see them!

We wish Toni all the best and good times with his new band!

However, Toni was recently visiting our rehearsal place and played the bass-part for the new song "The Words Are For..." (now properly spelled, advised by L.Garbage himself). That's really cool, 'cause now we don't have to wait for the new bass responsible before we can release the song. That's awesome. And we STILL believe that the song is ready for your ears by the end of August.

We like the song a lot... it's a bit different from the previous STILL ILL pieces, but in a good way we think. We have already received some really nice feedback from certain friends - and we're looking forward hearing YOUR comments too!

Yee haw,

Obi-1

Hello webpeople.

OK, it's summer, holiday and lazy-ass people all around you. That's cool, but guess what! We haven't been lazy. The recordings for the new song "Words Are For" are almost completed and you will hear the end result soon. For real. To be more specific, let's say in August.

Our song My Evil Ways will be included in the compilation cd titled Downtown Metal International Volume 8. The other bands in the cd are from Canada, Australia and USA, as well as from different parts of Europe, so the world domination of Still Ill is soon to become reality! Well, anyway it's cool to have our music released through other channels too, not only MySpace and Facebook.

At the moment we are looking for a new bassplayer, since Carlos decided to leave us a couple of months ago. So if you know any good ones, let us know.

Cheers,

Obi-1 and the boys

Dear friends of STILL ILL,

the new song -Daddy Addict- is the Xmas present we are very happy to give.

It's a special present to all of you who are friends of our music. It is made with true passion, commitment, friendship, love and blah blah... not forgetting those cans of Odin. Many cans.

We hope you'll enjoy it. And your grandma too.

We do.

Merry Christmas - be happy.

Yours,

Obi-Wan with L.Garbage, Mr. Hyde, Carlos and Schibulanski

December 10, 2008 - Wednesday
Phewww... Daddy Addict is finally recorded in our rehearsal hellhole! I was having a fucking awful hangover last Sunday when I did my last vocals for it with the support of Mr. Hyde!!! The day before was the independence day of Finland,if I remember right:D, and because I wasn't invited to party with our president, I went to see Anal Thunder gig, and if there's punkrock, there's wasted L.Garbage...

So...I felt really...let's say emotional in that evening, and the very first time I realized how sad or nasty song DA actually is. We didn't even have the power of Odin with us!Not a single can of that lousy but cheap danish beer, but sixpack of Karhu, the best finnish beer if you ask me...but hey, without Odin I felt unsafe...kinda lost...and finally fucking scared when we were recording the part of the song telling about the spiders on the corner:D (Funny how you can get so scared while speaking the lines written by yourself...) Then I heard Obi-Wan's "walking spiders- guitar" following that part and I nearly shit in my pants...I wasn't so sure if the "speaking part" even works, but after listening it more, I think the combination of that and the following guitar is brilliant:) If you don't think so, you should listen it when having a hangover I had:D

Oh yes,to you it might be a bit difficult to listen that new dance hit before we upload the song, if you don't have enough money to make everything possible:D
Mr. Hyde promised that the final mixing is done and it's uploaded here before x-mas:) It depends on how much fighting there will be... I mean Carlos and Schibulanski got out of the cage again:D I dunno anything about music anyway, so I gladly let the other guys do that final and the most annoying job;)

Why the hell the whole project has lasted so long then?
Well, we are lazy but chaotic old fucks...and there was some broken computers and stuff...lack of Odin maybe?...some of us are still desperately trying to get a life,in vain of course...We are just a bunch of poor rockers waiting for an early death(is it early anymore at the age of Jesus?), so why the hell we should hurry if we won't get paid...or even laid!Sorry, I dunno about the other guys, they look happy sometimes...:D

Believe or not, we have made some plans for the future!
Obi-Wan is now in London. There must be a good reason for that...My guess is that he did something against the law and gotta stay away from Finland for a while...or he is learning how to play horse polo...or he is trying to seduce the queen...or he hates us...or someone told him that London is the capital of Germany and the beer is free...or then he got married with his guitar and it was time for a honeymoon...
No matter what the main reason is, he is back in Finland at the end of February. Then we are going to record some more stuff and shoot a video for Daddy Addict. While waiting that happen I'm writing new lyrics all the time and O-W hopefully composing new killer stuff for them. We 4 losers that had to stay in Finland are playing together and trying some new stuff that we've done.

It seems that you can't get rid of us, no matter what!!!

Btw. Obi-Wan promised to write a blog about the time in England. Haven't seen it yet...does that mean he never went to England? What if he only said so just to make us think he is cool and rich and now hiding in Stockholm trying to get some money from his mom for the ticket back to Helsinki! I'd like to think it that way when it's getting cold in hear...:D

I'm off to bed now...I still have that, but soon I'm homeless and I don't need it anymore. That's how it goes when you are playing in a band:D And when the owner of the flat you are living in needs it for herself...and when you are living in Helsinki where it's fucking difficult to hire a flat if you are not a millionare or a lucky wanker from a decent family.

It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock'n'roll;)

Yours,
L.Garbage

Howdy webcrawlers!

The new song 'Daddy Addict' is almost ready. We're going to add some more vocals and guitars, then the final mix and there you go! You will hear it on MySpace soon.

The ex-guitarman of Still Ill heard the song and said that "now you sound like stoner rock more than ever before... with Ramones-like chorus!" We take that as a compliment, thanks.

But after all, probably the best thing is that we are all quite happy with the recording. I didn't sense any dissatisfaction and it was easy to agree on the final additions. We also discussed openly about the minor problems of the recording and decided how to fix them (or to ignore them... hey it's only rock'n'roll!  ).

This is the way a band must work together.

I have no doubts that the recording of the next song wouldn't be as rewarding and fun.

Yours,

Obi-1

PS. Thanks Tine for your support... we were feeling lucky yesterday!

Well well, fellow spiders...last night it was my turn to do the best for the tune called Daddy Addict. Mr.Hyde recorded loads of different kind of things I tried. I'm not sure if there's something or even everything we can use,it depends on the other guys, like how they finally like me to sound in that song...
We were quite happy about the whole thing,I mean me and Mr.Hyde...and even Alice, that lovely imaginary friend of mine.
Once again I have to say that I don't like to sing in the 'so called studio'. Gigs are more of my thing when the raw power is there, but I guess I managed quite well anyway. The power of Odin was with me,that's for sure.
So I'm waiting for the judgement now. Soon we'll hear what the jury of the spiders says, and if needed, I try something else...like some other band

We are back in business on Monday. Hopefully recording the next song...on the other hand I don't have an idea how much work Mr.Hyde has with mixing Daddy Addict and how long does it take...or should I learn to sing before recording the next tune

I'm off to bed now.
Laters!

'She's gonna kill
daddy addict
no mercy for
daddy addict...'

Yours,
L.Garbage

Hello again!

We recorded the guitars (preliminary) with Mr. Hyde yesterday.

But first, let me tell you about Odin.

We love Odin.

Odin is a beer and comes from a green can.

Everybody in Still Ill loves Odin. Everybody.

I love Odin so much that I probably change my name to Odin-Wan.

Odin is not extremely tasty beer but it's the cheapest beer you can get from our nearest gas station.

Odin is also a pagan God. But for us Odin is a beer. THE beer. The pagan God of Beers.

You don't see many Still Ill rehearsals without Odin. Why practise without Odin when you can practise with it!?

Just to let you know: WE LOVE ODIN.

And for the brewery-people of Odin: You may thank us for this commercial by sending us LOTS OF FREE ODIN!!!!!!!

Thank you. Odin.

Oh yea, about the recording... it was fun and we were quite happy with the end result. Now it's up to LG and his vocals.

Yours,

Odin-1

Hello Spider Lovers!

It’s the new guy (aka Obi-Wan) writing to you for a change. This is the first blog entry of our so-called Demo Diary which will be updated in order to keep you informed about our recording session. For some reason we think you might be interested in…

So, yesterday we finally started recording new songs. After playing two gigs with these mad heavy-animals of Still Ill I’ve been eagerly waiting for the experience of a recording session with the lads. My contribution for the previous demo was very limited since I wasn’t even a member of the band when recording the songs.

And yesterday was good.

The rhythm section of the band, spiders called Schibulanski and Carlos, played their drum’n’bass parts so tightly that we thought we should use a metronome to bring at least some human touch to the track ;)

Tomorrow me and Mr. Hyde are going to add our guitar parts and that’s of course the thing for me! After that L.Garbage will record his vocal parts and then it’s mixing, mixing, arguing, mixing, fighting, mixing, drinking, mixing…ok you got the point.

The song we’re recording is called ‘Daddy Addict’ and is the first one of the three new songs we’re going to release. So be patient my friend, the Still Ill force will be with you sooner than you think!

Yours,

Obi-1
