Hey kids! I know that hardly anyone uses MySpace as much as they used to, so I made a website to host all of my band and youtube updates. It also has the chords to my original songs on it, in case you want to cover them on YouTube or something!
Hope you like it!

Since my button machine came in the mail yesterday, I've been printing out buttons to see which look the best! I'm going to start selling them at my show at Etown college this Sunday. Thank you guys who've emailed me designs... if you want, you can keep designing new ones if yours didn't get picked yet. So far, I've picked five of the ones that have been submitted to the contest, and here they are! This first armoured bearcub pin was designed by Calum! He sent it in a few different colors, which is awesome. I chose a few of them to print.
These next two were designed by Carrie!
This one was designed by Katie!
This next one was designed by Allison.
You guys are awesome... thank you SO much! I'm getting to work making pins for you and when I get back to school on Monday, I'll write out your thank you cards and get them in the mail. I'm probably going to spend most of this weekend making more buttons... I've been designing and making them since the package came in the mail yesterday! If you're interested, here are the designs I've put together myself:
(this one comes in house colors!) (the last one features one of Jake Niffler's bearcub drawings that he did for us!)
I'm having so much fun making these that I'm probably going to do a video about them. If you submit new designs that I pick sometime before next week, your button design can be in that video! And all of the ones chosen in time for Wrockstock November 6-9th will be sold there. :D For information on how to submit a button design, click here!
I love you guys.
Lauren

Hi kids!
I bought a 1.5" button machine today and I'm excited to get it in the mail so I can start making buttons to sell at shows! One of the coolest things about this arrangement (compared to ordering buttons online) is that I can make as many designs into buttons as I want, very quickly.
So when I say that I'm having a button design contest, I'm actually going to be able to print as many button designs as I like. I'm looking for buttons that I could sell as merchandise for The Moaning Myrtles, my solo music, Armoured Bearcub, and even YouTube/devilishlypure/fiveawesomegirls-related stuff. The only requirements are that your design can't use copyrighted images, logos, or photographs (I'd need to be able to sell these without getting in trouble, so I'm trusting you to be original not copy or use things from other people) and that you follow this template:
Your design's main elements like text need to be within the dotted line, but the background must go all the way to the solid black line. This is because the round piece of paper I print out with the design on it will end up curling around the finished button a bit, and your main design might not be completely on the flat part of the button. Bad news.
Because I'll be making these with my printer, you can use as many or as few colors as you'd like! Be creative! I'm excited to see what you guys come up with and to start making these buttons! You can send me as many as you want, and while there is no deadline (I'm always going to be able to use new button designs), the sooner you send them, the sooner I can pick which I'm going to print and start making them.
To submit your designs (which should be in some kind of image format that I can open on a Mac like jpeg), attach them in an email to moaningmyrtles@yahoo.com
If you send me a button design that I end up using, I'll mail you a few copies of the finished button you designed along with a handwritten thank you letter. You'll also be credited for your work in the form of a blog or YouTube video with pictures of the resulting buttons. I'll welcome additional prize suggestions (within reason... I'm probably going to end up using a lot of these designs) if you think this isn't enough for your time and hard work. :)
Thank you guys so much!
Lauren

My new CD, I'm Saying Nothing, is now in the iTunes store! I know that a bunch of you have been waiting for the digital copy to be available and now you can even buy specific songs! Click here to launch the iTunes store and buy my new album. I'd also love for you guys to write reviews of the album in the iTunes store! I'd love to hear what you think since I worked really hard on this CD. You can do this even if you already bought the hard copy from me (thanks again for all of you who have the CD already!). I hope you like it! :) Lauren

Hey kids! As you may have noticed, I added a bunch of tour dates to the MySpace! Last night, I put together enough Facebook events for the whole tour I'm going on with The Whomping Willows and Justin Finch-Fletchley. This way, you can RSVP so we know that you're coming and you can invite everyone you know that might want to go too and it's just a good time all around. Yayy! May 27th in Manhattan, NY: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=68105324284May 28th in Moorestown, NJ: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=75763361986May 30th in Vienna, VA: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=71969928683May 31st in Centreville, VA: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=68804174382June 1st in Pittsburgh, PA: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=78842682111June 3rd in Akron, OH: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=65791208289June 5th in Florissant, MO: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=60754709090June 6th in Galesburg, IL: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=71485688478June 7th in Kansas City, MO: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=93831131209June 8th in Lawrence, KS: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=82641512944June 9th in Midwest City, OK: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=70914273287June 10th in Fort Worth Texas (Part One): http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=186064495005June 11th in Fort Worth Texas (Part Two): http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=77958107358June 12th in Baton Rouge, LA: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=82213887787June 13th in Hattiesburg, MS: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=69283214346June 14th in Birmingham, AL: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=65965772357June 15th in Apex, NC: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=69999617790Invite people. Go crazy! I'd love you forever. And I can't wait to see you guys on the road! I know we're not playing everywhere since that's kind of impossible for a three week tour, but maybe we're getting closer to where you live than NYC, NJ, and PA where we usually play most of our shows. Hey kids! It's been a while, but this semester I've been doing a lot of work on a brand new solo CD! It's called "I'm Saying Nothing" and it features a bunch of awesome guests like Hank Green of vlogbrothers on YouTube, Lena from The Butterbeer Experience, and Kristina from The Parselmouths. I'm particularly excited about this CD because it features me playing guitar, ukulele, and even my amazing new acoustic bass. I even did the artwork myself! Here are the front and back covers (with the tracklist!): I don't have an official release date for this album because I don't have a show where I can sell them until LeakyCon 2009 in Boston (BE THERE!). However, it should be done within the next few weeks and as soon as it's finished, I'm going to upload it to iTunes and post on here with the link where you can buy a hard copy of the CD. Yaayyy! Pretty soon, I'm going to be adding some of the songs to the MySpace player as well, so check back! Love you guys! Lauren

Hi guys! I know it's been a while since I've posted music to this page. That's mostly because I was busy working on Moaning Myrtles music and touring and going to college and rehearsing for Urinetown. But now you'll find two new recordings at the top of the MySpace player on my profile! Here's a blurb about each.
"Black Santas" is a goofy song about my favorite moment in John Green's fantastic new (NY Times Bestselling!) book, Paper Towns. It will not spoil you if you have not read the book, and I think it's funny even without knowing where it comes from, but I also think that it will make you want to read this book and I definitely think YOU SHOULD READ IT!!! The lovely Kristina of The Parselmouths sings on this track with me because she and Lena were with me when we first read this part of the book.
If you went to our acoustic show at Terminus in Chicago this summer, you've most likely already heard "Screening Process". I wrote this song earlier in the summer and it's probably the most emotionally intense, difficult to write and play song I've ever been faced with. In fact, even playing it that once in public was almost too much for me to handle. There are videos. But I'm definitely okay now and I am ready for you guys to hear the first clean recording of a song I'm really connected to and proud of. I hope you like it.
Both of these songs (though probably not the current recordings of them) will be appearing on my next solo CD, but I'm nowhere near having enough songs for it so I don't know when that will be coming out. I'll definitely let you all know when I know.
Love you all!
Lauren

Hi kids! One of the things I've been struggling with for the past few years is keeping up with physical CD orders online. I'm really busy as it is and my post office hates me and has made me wait up to four hours before they'll help me mail larger CD shipments. Since a few of you guys have been really sad that it takes me up to a few months to get your CDs to you, I've decided that it's less important that you get a handwritten envelope complete with amused comments from me (such as when I spell my own name wrong, which has happened before) and doodles and such. It's probably more important that you get your CD in the mail faster and the only way that can happen is if I switch to an automatic shipping service. I just want to thank all of the people who read my countless messages and watched the YouTube videos in which I stress out because personally addressing and packaging and mailing all of these CDs is really difficult when I have hardly any time to sleep, eat, and study as it is, and still didn't complain to me when it took you a while before you got it in the mail. I love you guys. I also love the people who were so excited to get our CDs that they couldn't possibly just let me get the orders out when I actually could do it and sent me multiple messages begging me to send them out sooner. It's for you guys that I've decided to let Kunaki handle the shipments from now on, so I hope this makes you a little happier. :) So basically, now everyone can get any of our Moaning Myrtles CDs and my solo Devil's Snare CD for $13 each off of this website right here in any combination and quantity, and you'll get it in a few business days. Yay! Love, Lauren P.S. If you've ordered a CD on PayPal from me recently, don't fret. I've packaged almost all of them and I'll get them mailed out as soon as I can. And you can get Nina's new solo CD, Cliches, at her MySpace here: http://www.myspace.com/ninajankowicz
