I guess with every job, you're going to deal with one person - wait, scratch that - one douche nozzle that's decided early on that he's not going to pay you for what you created for him. You have the agreement for the work and the approval of a "kick ass" logo when completed. But when it comes time to follow through on the arrangement, no emails are answered and no checks are signed. Pretty disappointing, considering the item that you have created for him is pretty good (if I do say so myself) and you gave him a DISCOUNT PRICE to take pity on his "startup status" of his booking company.
So, now... thanks to said douche nozzle, I am leery of dealing with new clients. For the most part I guess I'm a little too trusting, but I pride myself on the way I deal with people and expect that it's going to be given back.
In the future, do I not take on new clients? No, That's not the answer. I wouldn't be able to expand and spread the gospel of Killer Kite. Do I not offer discount rates? Hmmm, not sure. But I like to think I am helping the startup or starving artist. Do I ask for money up front? I don't know. Usually I just want to get paid for what I've done, not for what I'm about to do.
I think for now, I will use this blog to start my vent on this douche nozzle, and hope that my faithful clients and friends keep spreading the word of my work and what I do for everyone (I appreciate that, by the way.) That will balance out the douchness. There's always going to be one rotten apple in the bushel.

And I'm not naming names, but the douche nozzle rhymes with "Pity 2 Pity Rentertainment" He's got BIG things going for 2009. Whatever.

 'Nuff said.

The September 08 issue of REVIEW magazine has hit the streets, and there is a interview with some very good poster artists from in and around KC, including DJG, Ben Chlapek and Nomathmatics. Yours truly was lucky enough to be included and get to show some samples. It's a great looking section and I thank Sonya for letting me be a part of it.

Check out the magazine, it's great looking and supports the local arts.

Do it.

I have recently been given a new web site for my birthday, now I can look professional while giving you the half-ass, sub-par design you have come to expect from Jud and Killer Kite Productions.
Check it out at www.killerkite.com and let me know what you think.

I would like to personally thank Rikki and Slammer at Spring Day Design for setting this up.

AND a quick promo for Spring Day Design, if you need a quality website at affordable prices. www.springday.com
