Current mood:  accomplished
So, 769 friends and exactly 69000 profile views.  Of course, you just ruined that, I bet.

Just a couple hours until we tear up the Debar house (Universe City).  I'm pretty sure no one actually knows what to expect from us.  This will be funny.

Okay, so the songs are up.  Enjoy them or don't.

These songs were recorded on two consecutive Monday mornings at Audyssey Studio in OKC by Henry McMinn (who probably doesn't want his name any where near this stuff...).  The first day was Matt, Kyle, and I (Trev).  The second day was Joel and I.
The first session yielded all of the drum and bass tracks, along with a scratch guitar track, in probably fifteen takes.  "Opeth"* took the most takes, weighing in at a hefty three.  The real guitar tracks would have gotten done that day but my guiutar amp decided to pick that time to break.  So, no guitar that day...
The second session was vocals and guitar.  The guitar tracks were recorded in around ten takes, give or take.  Once again "Opeth"* was the bane track.  I ended up using a ten watt Vox amp with zero low end, and didn't really wanna take the time to re-EQ my effects processor settings, so the tracks sound less like the giant fat ass they usually do and more like a skinny, boney ass.  Thus, the guitar tracks are a combination of the scratch and second day recordings. We forgot to have me record my usual back-up vox for "Ijit Boy", but did get a (nearly) decent take of me singing "#1 Customer" on a whim.
Everyone in the band played as well as can be expected for Monday morning.  The sloppiness you hear on these recordings is pretty intentional.  Punk rock is supposed to be noisy and sloppy, and we are that.

     * that isn't actually the name of the song, but the real name is like as long as this whole blog.  I'm not typing it.  It's hard enough to remember to the fucking thing.

     * fine, the real title of "Opeth", or "The Opeth Song", is actually this: "A Brief Piece Of Open Correspondance With The Five, Six, Or Twenty Men Whom Comprise The Super-Talented Super-Group Known As 'Opeth' With Regard To The Brevity, Or Lack Thereof (In No Way Mitigated By The Abundance Of Pretention And Arrogance), Of The Epic Magnum Opuses Commonly Referred To As 'Songs'"
     There.

Yes.  It only took us 6-7 years to finally do it, but it is done.  We are perhaps the laziest punk band to ever exist.  Seriously.  I believe we average, MAX, two shows per year, and we just NOW recorded a demo of our shit and put it on MySpace.  I love us.

These are rough demos, but it's punk, so really, what did you expect?  Anything more, and your are a fuck-tard and should un-friend us posthaste.  Seriously.  I'm not just saying that because I'm high.  Fuck off.

To everyone else, you all waited very patiently, and why you did so is still a mystery, and we love you for it.  Please enjoy (term used loosely) the fruits of our loins... I mean labor... ok, I meant loins.

Well, there they are.  On the blog, available if you search.  Videos of two songs from out last show.
The sound quality ain't great, the video quality isn't great.  I think it's better that way.
There are like four more songs I/we could put up, but my (Trev) guitar's D dropped to like a three-quarters of a step flat- so, they sound like shit.  They may end up on here anyway...
After all, it's only punk rock.

Pulpit Red fucking pwnz.  They are fucking great.  Everyone in that band is the fucking shit.  Everyone.
This is what I, Trev, thought as I watched them play their set on February 29th.
I've been a fan of Dave's gitfiddle since '91 or '92, whenever I saw Landfill play for the forst time.  I've appreciated Dave's drumming from back in the Ancient Chinese Penis days.

And now, because of PULPIT RED , we have our first shot at a gig in another state,

On July 26th, at Kirby's, in Wichita, KS.
We should be opening for them.  Provided they don't change their minds.  Which is perfectly within their rights.  We would understand.

But, we wanna play that show.  We'll debut our song about evolution at that gig if we have it.  And I think we will.
