Playing their first Melbourne show in 1 year, THE ETERNAL, will be showcasing material from their forthcoming album 'Kartika' on the night! Due for release late 2008 this is a chance for fans to get a taste of what's to come, mixed in with a range of songs from their brilliant albums 'The Sleep of Reason' (2005) and 'The Sombre Light Of Isolation' (2004). Dark, melodic, emotional and dynamic- The Eternal are one of Australia's premier melodic/doom metal bands.

Making their first ever tour to Melbourne, SLEEPMAKESWAVES are an instrumental rock band from Sydney. Drawing influences mainly from but not limited to post-rock, the young quartet mix driving metallic bombast with textured electronics to create a sonic space where delicate melodies and thunderous climaxes peacefully co-exist. Since their formation in late 2006, sleepmakeswaves have rapidly established themselves as a promising and unique voice in their field. The band has enjoyed considerable word-of-mouth support and have landed auspicious opening slots with post-rock luminaries such as Pelican, Laura and Meniscus on the back of their powerful live show and acclaimed demo recording (2007). The release of their extraordinary EP 'In Today Already Walks Tomorrow', earlier this year, has seen sleepmakeswaves bombarded with rave reviews and bold predictions of big things to come for this band.

ARBRYNTH (formally known as Arcaine) formed in early 2006, hailing from the far east of Melbourne. Drawing influences from European metal and world music, Arbrynth have developed a sound that has been branded epic/folk/metal. As a four-piece sharing vocals and character portrayal, Arbrynth have a unique versatility that breathes life on the storytelling in their music.

Opening on the night will be DIVINE ASCENSION. Formed in April 2007, they share a vision that seeks to combine jaw dropping musicianship, personal lyrics and a dynamic female vocalist. With songs that explore the inner battles we all face at different stages in our lives, Divine Ascension search for the answers to the questions we all ask. Drawing influences from old school metal, power metal and progressive metal, Divine Ascension has found their own niche within the melodic metal genre. This is clearly evident when Jennifer belts out the lyrics in such a unique fashion. With a background in cabaret, Jennifer's delivery is brimming with character, diversity and style – taking the music into new other worldly realms.
