Hello All.

Hope everyone is well. As you would have seen from my previous blog I decided it was time to set up a new label, the obvious thing to do at a time when music sales are declining and there's more labels out there than you can shake a stick at but what the hell. Basically gives me chance to put out music as and when I like. Future releases include remixes I've done of various Indie bands, new material from techno act Randolph & Mortimer plus brand spanking new tracks a hot up and coming French producer! I've also got remixes lined up from Germany's finest noise man Autodidakt, Swedish king Blende's new project and the tech funk Sensei himself Elite Force.

The first release is the dancefloor bomb, 'Big Dog'. It officially hits all the digital stores on Dec 11. It's been getting some serious love from DJs across the board here are some of the reactions I've had so far...

"Cool track man, the original is my fav" NAPT

"BOMB!!!!" VIRGIN TEARS

"The EP sounds great!" BLENDE

"You gave me the original mix a while back, been in the box ever since!" ELITE FORCE

"Sounds great man, leaning towards the Original Mix. I'll be spinning in San Diego this weekend" DELTA FIASCO

"Pretty impressive start to the label and a seriously fat package" HARPER (BOOGIE ARMY)

"Lovin your original, will play and chart but this 808 electro remix of yours is really amazing" MAELSTROM

"Love the Vandal Bites Dog Version, dropped it on Sat and it sounded wicked" ARVEENE & MISK

"Fat beats of a high production standard, the original is the best" SOUL OF MAN

"Vandal Bites Dog mix is a killa tune!" BLACK NOISE

"Really like the Randolph & Mortimer mix" MEAT KATIE

"I'm liking the Autodidakt remix for it's pure filthiness. The Randolph & Mortimer remix is great too...a
really nice build through the whole track. I'd reach for that if I was playing a more techy set sure" FAR TOO LOUD

"Nice one Vandal, the Vandal Bites Dog mix is cool" JAY CUNNING

It's hot...finally the summer has arrived here on the outskirts of sunny Sheffield, although I suspect it won't last.

Anyway it's safe to say I just had a very hectic weekend. It began on Friday morning when I drove down to the big smoke to watch the mighty ACDC at Wembley Stadium. This was my third time seeing the Antipodean maestros (apart from Brian), the first being in 1991 at the Monsters Of Rock festival @ Castle Donnington and I got to say they blew me away. Me and my mate Al managed to get right into the pit and the action down the front was class, nothing beats being surrounded by 1000s & 1000s of people completely losing it. As for the band well...for a bunch of old guys they completely smashed it up.

We were just to the left of the walkway at the front!

Next was a *very* early Saturday morning drive over to Glastonbury to see Springsteen and checkout the rest of the festival. Considering how much new music was on at Glastonbury, apart from the immense Gaslight Anthem, I managed to see only the old pros...Status Quo (Rockin All Over The World), Madness (Ultimate party band), Tom Jones (!) & Spinal Tap (Very funny & Very Sharp). The highlight was easily The Boss though, he managed to play for 2hr40 without ever turning it into a greatest hits set. The final hour was one of the most barnstorming endings to a gig I've ever seen. He destroyed Glastonbury.

Current mood:Very fucking busy
Hello All.

These are busy times. I didn't think it was possible to spend anymore time working in the studio but I seem to have squeezed more hours out of the week. Not sure it's normal to spend so much time with a machine, my mate said that it won't be long before I'm proposing to my machine. I don't think marriage to a bunch of hard drives and wires would be that bad, we have our ups and downs but overall we have a pretty solid relationship.

Anyway I've been beavering away on all kinds of different projects everything from techno to electronica but as this is a Vandal profile I'll stick with all that is Vandal.

First up is a brand new collaboration with Hyper called Fugazi and it's a biggie. Named after the finest hardcore band of all time, it's a super cool, groove led, techno influenced banger which is going to suprise a lot of people. It is a quality tune. The flip side is a balls out remix from myself. A banger of a package which should be out in July, previews will be up on my profile soon.

I'm currently working on a few  brand new remixes including a couple of Indie bands. One of them is an act called Tape The Radio, Steve Lamacq is a big fan and they have been picked out by the NME...expect big things.

WOrd reaches me that there are four Vandal tracks on the upcoming Babyface/Lot49 comp. This should be very cool as Babyface are one of the biggest underground promoters in the Far East. I'm not sure of the release date. More details to follow.

Outside of the studio I've been getting back into Fell Running - look it up on wikipedia! It's a quality sport which can be really hard work but it is strangely addictive. The local race season is in full swing and I've managed to a couple of a races under my belt. Plenty more coming up, it's going to be a busy summer.

Right back to the beats.
