Big homies-

In preparation for our big record release shows this next week, we're putting up one more new track from our new record, "We Appreciate You" -- due out on Tuesday, April 15th on Frenchkiss Records.

This track's a little different.

It's got Dessa from Doomtree guesting on vocals, 3/4 time signatures, and a sea-shanty sing-along chorus. It's called "Perched on a Porch" and you can hear it on our Myspace right now at www.myspace.com/theplasticconstellations.

A reminder! We play a free all ages in-store throwdown on April 15th at the Electric Fetus in Minneapolis starting at 7PM! Then, the real deal is our huge Record Release Party at First Avenue on April 19th. Here's the stats:

Saturday, April 19th

First Avenue Mainroom in Minneapolis

6PM Doors — $6 —18+

The Plastic Constellations

Doomtree (the entire crew!)

The Millionth Word

Shoe Shiners

Buy tickets online now at www.first-avenue.com.

The whole deal is gonna be crazy awesome and will mark our last show before we're headed off into the quasi-sunset, taking an indefinite hiatus. Expect some cool stuff.

Let's talk soon.

Love and Delmon Young,

TPC

Big Duns!

It truly has been too long since we’ve talked. What have we been up to? Glad you asked. A "shit ton," would be the short answer but we can give a little more detail than that. In fact, here’s a lot more detail:

In a bittersweet twist, we here at TPC Enterprises® are both excited and admittedly a little sad to announce that our upcoming release show for "We Appreciate You" on April 19th at First Avenue is going to be our last show before we embark on what we’re calling—for lack of a better term—an indefinite hiatus.

We’ve had an amazing 12.5 year ride since we started in suburban basements in 1995. We’ve seen some truly incredible things (Niagra Falls, Golden Gate Bridge, East St. Louis, Joel Anderson’s bedroom), fought some metaphorical and actual real-life dragons, driven across the country three times over, suckered the Canadian border patrol and, most importantly, we’ve met some beautiful and hilarious (and usually somewhat intoxicated) people—many of whom we’re still lucky enough to describe as "family" with total sincerity.

So what are we doing to celebrate this forthcoming explosion of inactivity? Releasing an album and throwing a huge party of course!

Our new album, "We Appreciate You" is gonna be dropped on April 15th by our buddies in NYC, Frenchkiss Records. It’s 11 hot tracks of penultimate TPC jams and we’re absolutely stoked with how it turned out. Big-ups to Joe Mabbott for once again making us sound somewhat professional. The record will be available at fine independent retailers as well as in the usual iTunes scene. The artwork turned out awesomely thanks to everyone’s photo contributions, some of which you can see incorporated into our new website by our web guru, Alison (www.theplasticconstellations.com). The CD itself features an extensive pullout section with even MORE people drawn together.

We’ve already posted one mp3 for the lead track "Stay That Way", but now we’re adding another. Check out our Myspace page at www.myspace.com/theplasticconstellations to hear another new track from the record— this one’s called "Black Market Pandas" and is named after a motorcycle gang in San Diego. We think. That’s what this awesome dude we stayed with out there told us they were called, anyways.

If you live in Minneapolis, we’ve got two shows on the horizon to celebrate the record release and to say a quasi-goodbye to our home cities. The first is on Tuesday, April 15th, an All Ages in-store performance at the Electric Fetus where we’ll start promptly at 7:00 and bring some pain. The second, and most hugest, is our official record release throwdown at the First Avenue Mainroom on Saturday, April 19th! We’ve assembled an all-star lineup of bros to help us mark the occasion. It’s ridiculous. For serious. Check the stats:

Saturday, April 19th
First Avenue Mainroom – Minneapolis, MN
6:00 PM Doors -- $6 – 18+ to get in
The Plastic Constellations (that’s us)
Doomtree (the entire crew!)
The Millionth Word (if you don’t know yet, you will soon)
Shoe Shiners (everyone’s favorite 15-year old indie rock geniuses)

Expect a lot of special stuff to go down, folks. We’ll be doing a little more than the standard "here’s a few songs from our new album" approach. Afterparty at your mom’s house.

We’ll be in touch again soon, before the shows, to check in.

Love and History,
TPC

P.S. You have to check out this amazing article written by our new best friend, James Montgomery from MTV. It compares us to Bruce Springsteen. Jeff was near tears when he read it. The link is: www.mtv.com.

Dudes-

So as you may know we've been making a new record and it is now finished. Thank the gods. It's gonna be called "We Appreciate You." It's gonna be released by Frenchkiss Records. It's gonna come out on April 15th, 2008. It's gonna have 11 songs on it. It's gonna have some (we think) sweet artwork on it. It's gonna have some (we think) of the best material we've ever written on it. It's gonna shit tons of fun when we have release parties in April. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, we're playing one more local show before it comes out! It's at our favorite spot in the Deuce Cities, the Triple Rock Social Club -- shit will get poppin' on Friday, January 4th along with our bros in Supperhopper and The Deaf. It will double as a welcome home party for our good friend who has been in Iraq for the last 18 months or so. As Kanye West once famously remarked: it's a celebration, bitches.

See you then! Keep your eye here in the coming weeks and months as we'll have more info about the new record and some free mp3's of the new jams!

Love and Al Jefferson,
TPC

Dudes,

So we're putting the finishing touches on our new record and we need
some help with the artwork. 50's Dad and Alison are working on a
painting for the cover and we want as many of our friends as possible to
be in it. If you're interested in being on the artwork (in painted form)
then please email a photo of yourself to
alison@deucecities.com

You should preferably be standing up in the photo, with your whole body
showing, including legs and feet. Make whatever faces you want, wear
whatever you want, flash gang signs, whatever. Just send us the photos
and we'll make it happen.
The email address again:
alison@deucecities.com

We're trying to get this off to the manufacturer real soon, so get those
beautiful pics in ASAP!

Thanks broses.

Dudes!

It's been a minute (as the rappers say) since we hollered at you. How's everything been? Good, good to hear. Oh, us? You want to know how we've been doing? Just fine thanks. Thanks for asking.

We've been enjoying the beautiful summer weather of the Midwest by locking ourselves in Matt's damp, humid, grey, unlit basement and hammering out a smorgasboard of new jams that will comprise our upcoming full length record. Sounds depressing, we know, but we had beers down there so don't worry. We're all done writing and will be heading into the studio in late July with our old friend and your old enemy Joe Mabbott to lay down the gospel. If you've been to any of our shows in recent months, you've heard a hand full of these new joints but there's many more on the way.

We're pleased to announce that we'll be partnering once again with our bros at Frenchkiss Records in New York City, New York, USA for the release of these jam nuggets. These essentials are set to drop in early 2008. Expect more information and some uploaded new songs in the months ahead.

In the meantime, we've got two summer shows coming up! One is free for all Twin Citizens and it's in a park! The other is in beautiful Iowa City for the one year anniversary of The Picador, everyone's favorite place to vomit on a staircase in Iowa. Check the shows page for all the details.

Love and Corey Brewer,

TPC

Friendthrens-

The four of us in TPC went to high school together, back in the proverbial day. Did you know this? Odds are yes since it seems to be mentioned fairly frequently in press coverage of our dumb band. Did you know that this aforementioned high school was none other than Hopkins High School (aka Tha 270, as in "Independent School District #270) in Hopkins, MN, a small industrial suburb ten minutes to the west of Minneapolis?

It's true.

Since we're at the "let's play a bunch of crazy little shows for fun while we finish writing a new record" stage of 2007, we've decided to book a show at a Hopkins mainstay -- Decoy's on Mainstreet -- just like, cause, it'll be crazy fun. If you've ever been there, you know that the bands who usually play there are of the bar band-cover jams-keyboard solo-long hair variety.

On this Saturday, April 28th, we will be ripping this venue a new asshole along with our rapper friends (and also Hopkins High School graduates) Sims and Mictlan from Doomtree. Here is the stats:

Saturday, April 28th
9:30 PM till close
Decoy's in Hopkins, MN
1022 Mainstreet (corner of 11th and Main)
The Plastic Constellations
Sims and Mictlan from Doomtree
$5 - 21+

A show this special deserves a special approach. We'll be playing mutliple sets, covers, tracks from our entire catalog (including a bunch of new jams), invoking audience participation -- you know, all the ridiculous stuff that a bar band normally does. Except it will be us, TPC, inciting the riotus good times and not Wicked Slammerz or whatever other bands normally play there.

We think that you should come to this. For reals. Hopefully we'll see you there.

Love and Jason Kubel,
TPC

Bros.

We haven't played a lot of shows lately, we know. If you do fret about this, please stop that shit. We've just been busy writing a new record and wishing the T-Wolves didn't suck. You wanna hear some of the new songs? We want you to hear them too. If you live in Minneapolis, you can do that this Friday.

Let it be known that we are honored to be playing this Friday at the first show of The Millionth Word, a band featuring some tight bros of ours from way back when. It will be sweet. We haven't played the Entry in a long-ass time. Here's the stilz-nats:

Friday, March 23rd
7th Street Entry
Minneapolis, MN
9PM - 21+ - $6

The Plastic Constellations (yep)
The Millionth Word (fuck yep)
His Mischief (hell fucking yep)
Sun Giant (yep)

Let's drink beers. We'll play you some new songs we've been working on. Then you pour beer on our heads. Then we use the nutrients of the poured beer to grow to massive, unnatural, radioactive sizes. Then shit goes down.

Word to your proverbial mother,
T to tha P to tha C
Thursday, February 01, 2007
Shit's gonna be scandalous.

Friday, February 2nd -- Mpls, MN
Triple Rock Social Club
The Plastic Constellations
Hockey Night
The Future
All Ages at 5PM -- Drunk Show at 21+
$8
We've got some new jams that we're excited to unlease on the world. Our first local show since October. Color us ready.

Blammo,
TPC

All playaz worldwide-

For fun, the intrepid Alison made the map above. It charts our movements across the planet in the past year and its fun to look at and remember all the sweet times and new friends we met in the '06. Where are YOU located on this map of awesomeitudeosityness?

In other news, our friends at Schedule Two have posted some awesome videos from our show at the Mainroom with Tapes n' Tapes this past summer. They did a great job on the videos, seriously. And it's fun to look back on that night. Check it out here.

In other other news, we've got a sweet-ass Minneapolis show coming up! It'll be at the Triple Rock Social Club, our hometown brodown spot, on Friday February 2nd with two awesome bands: Hockey Night and The Future. Two shows! All Ages at 5PM and Drunk Show at 9PM. Come on down and let's hang out together. We've got some new jams that we're ready to drop on your dome.

That's all for now. Hope your new year's celebrations are full of champagne and Scrabble. Maybe just champagne.

Love and Randy Foye,

TPC
