(excerpt from the email sent to our email distribution list):
First
of all, thanks so much for downloading “Sometimes” online. Since we
sent the email out yesterday, we've already had 69 downloads! We would
love to hit at least 150, so please spread the word and thanks again
for the support!! Here is that link: http://www.myspace.com/windows?homepage=innerfrequency.
Now
to the serious business alluded to in the subject of this email. You
may have noticed that not much “action” has been occurring in the Inner
Frequency world lately...not a lot of emails or updates about things,
and not a lot of gig activity. What's the deal??? Well, we have some
major changes occurring and wanted to get our heads wrapped around it
before making a formal, public announcement.
So
here it is: July 17 will be the last “official” show with Luke
Carnevale as part of Inner Frequency. We want everyone to come out and
celebrate with us on that night as we celebrate the time that we've had
together as a band, and also celebrate Cara's birthday (dual
celebrations are always the best!). Yes, there may be some tears, as
this is a turning point in the history of Inner Frequency, but we
really want to have a great night, sharing memories with our fans and
enjoying our last show with Luke.
Now,
don't be getting yer perty little heads worried that Inner Frequency is
disappearing. With Luke's blessing, the band is going to carry on,
keeping the same name and tunes. Cara, Jon, Brad and Barry—joined by
New Orleans guitarist Dave Perez while going through this transition
time, will be playing their first gig “Lukeless” on Sunday, July 12
(yes, that is BEFORE the last show Luke is playing with us, but he's
out of town that weekend). The sound will definitely be a little
different and we hope that everyone is up for this adventure.
Hold
on tight, cause we're not sure where this ride is taking us next, but
we know one thing for sure: WE ARE NOT BREAKING UP! Our sound may
evolve in a direction not even known to us at this moment...we are
leaving that all up to the organic process of jamming and
practicing...but we will still be Inner Frequency!
And
for all of you nosy folks out there: there is no big secret behind this
change...we didn't have a huge blow out fight and we all still love
Luke and vice versa. Some times paths in life just shift around, and we
support Luke in his decision to move in a different direction with his
life at this time. That doesn't mean we won't miss him and I'm sure at
some point in the future there will be some "reunion" shows. I mean,
come on, you have to go through changes in your line-up so that you can
have reunions, right!!??
So mark your calendars for some upcoming Dallas shows:
July 12-Poor David's Pub (exact time TBD, but probably around 7pm)
Full afternoon event for Can't Stop the Serenity with Patrice Pike from Austin and many other bands.
July 17-Jack's Backyard and Chill Grill
9pm-midnight
Cara
and Luke will open with an acoustic set of some of their “oldies.” Dirt
& Earthy Vibes will then entertain us while we get to mingle with
the crowd and then Inner Frequency will rock the stage out with a full
band set.
July 30-The Cavern
time TBD
w/Romallice and friends
