Today was dedicated to laying down drums at Bright Orange Studio,  Jon Mattox was once again right on the money.  He played three songs on my last record and it was a pleasure to work with him again.

I'm starting to believe this is going to be a solid record.  As I say this i realize how seldom the term 'believe' enters my head these days.  If i had to come up with a list of things that 'jason believes in', i think most who know me would find it quite meek.  The only suprising parts would be the omissions.  For instance, I dont believe that I'm an artist.  The thought does pass through my head but never stays.  I also don't believe in my future, a  pro-active deity or that i will ever fall in love again.

But, today I believe that I am creating something that may be both the only honest thing i do this year and that which i am most proud of.

The fact that this is not a contracition to me is a great comfort.

WHAT JASON BELIEVES

I can push you away

i know how to forget

the strength in honesty

i have people that love me

it feels good to cry

 it hurts to try

$150 can make your troubles go...bye bye.

Well, yesterday was a bit of a blur.  By the time I made it to  Burbank Apt, I had been up for 30hrs straight.  Started on three songs before I got to bed.  I did get to take a hike through a wonderful park in the Hollywood hills, dontated to the city by Warren Betty.

Today has been powered by an unnamed drug that is now legal in the state of California..   This is a very nice thing.

The recording is going pretty well.  It's been a bit more of a musical collabrative thus far than it was on my last album,  it feels so good to dig into these songs and see what turns up.

got to record....more soon...jq

I am now booking for a bi-weekly songwriter round, featuring both local and touring acts.  The dates booked for November and December are going to be held at the Rumba Cafe but we may move it around in the future.

The format of the show will be a bit different than most.  We will play in a nashville style round with all three performers sitting on stage and trading songs. Right now these will be on mondays so we are going to make this an earlier show than most.  We'll be playing from 9pm to 12:30am.

If you are a touring act that is selected I will do my best to get you radio and press for the show.

for show dates check my schedule, if you have any other questions please email me at microwave_life@hotmail.com

thanks!

This weekend i have a show that I am both excited to play but also wish i didnt have to.  Donna Mogavero has been a big part of the columbus music scene for years and years.  When i first started checking out the scene she made an immediate impression on me.  Donna is a talent and a great compliment to this town and when I heard the news that she had broken her hip and was going to be laid up for awhile I wanted to do what I could.

So, this saturday Ill be with my band at Little Brothers for a benefit for Donna.  Also on the bill will be the Decals, Billy Zenn, Kim Crawford and The Parker Brothers.  I hope you can make it out, at least just stop by and show your support.

Thank you - jq
