Hello bands.
Here is what we can offer in pay and production:
HEADLINE ACT DEAL: We can offer you $500 in honorarium.
SUPPORT ACTS: We can offer you $100 - $200 in honorarium. Support acts will ideally be youth bands from the Southwest as B@M is all about supporting the local music scene down south.
TRAVEL: We also help with travel/accommodation cost, on depending on distance and size of band. A four piece from Perth typically receives $200 for that. WE DO NOT BOOK ACCOMMODATION FOR PERFORMERS but will help you find some.
PRODUCTION: Look forward to great sound, with 4000W RMS FOH, everything re miked, and 4 foldbacks on stage, you're not only gonna be heard - you're also gonna hear what you play/sing. Oue sound man, Spider, mixes for big shows like Southbound and you will like his work.
Drummers will find a 5-piece (12", 13", 16" toms) Pearl Export EX with new(ish) Remo pinstripe batters, Pearl Eliminator double kick pedals, and 16" plus 18" rock crashes and a 10" splash. The kit is miked via a Shure PGDMK6 drum microphone set (up to 8 channels). You are also welocome to bring your own drums, cymbals and backline.
Alternatively, we have 2 Marshall 100HDFX half stacks, 1 Randall RG75D combo amp and a 100W Fender Rumble bass amp for the back line, guitar amps PAed via SM57s, Fender DIed. All guitar amps with digital effects and pedals. BRING YOUR OWN STOMP BOXES.
For keyboards we have one DI box; if you need to inject more than one keyboard there is a 6-channel mixer. Sorry, only one channel for keyboards on the multicore.
Vocals via 4 SM58s.
The lighting rig comes with 16 Par64 LED cans and 2 Par56 LED cans (to add some sparkle to the drums) onstage, 4x1000W Par 64 ceiling mounted and sound controlled for FOH wash, 2 Alsphascans, 1 Martin Aqua Mania, 1 Martin Kinta FX, 1 Double Boogie Moon Flower, 1 mirror ball kit, 1 75W strobe and 4000qf/min smoke machine.
We can provide up to 4 h/d music stands for set lists etc.
RIDERS: Other perks include a free meal of pizza on the night and plenty of water and soft drinks. If you have any dietary or cultural needs (diabetes/allergies/kosher/hallal) please tell us and we'll do our level best to meet them. There are always some vegetarian pizzas.
MARKETING: You will also be asked to send us a band bio and a hi res picture (1M file size is good). We'll do our best to get you into the local paper but no guarantees, the journos don't give us any either. We will keep clippings and posters for performers' scrapbooks/shoebox archives and e-mail an electronic copy on publication.
Also, we take pretty good pictures and bands get to use them free of charge. We also make pretty good live recordings and make them available to our bands.
CONTRACT: There is a performance contract, that lays down a few ground rules, like not arriving late of intoxicated (remember it's an all-ages gig and our funding depends on that). The contract will be sent out as early as possible but the sooner we have it back the better we can hype the concert with posters etc. Fair enough? Well, while we'd love to offer better conditions we also want to keep admission affordable for the fans, plus there aren't enormous numbers. Anyway we're told our deal stands up pretty well - and all bands who played here wanna come back...
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PLAY ONE OF OUR GIGS, PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT THAT SAYS SO. UNFORTUNATELY IT MAY TAKE A WHILE AS WE HAVE NOW ABOUT 70 BANDS IN THE QUEUE AND DO ONLY A MAXIMUM OF 6 GIGS A YEAR. WHO GETS A CALL ALSO DEPENDS ON COMPATIBILITY OF STYLES/SOUND - AND SOMETIMES WE'LL SEND A 'FIRST IN GETS THE GIG' OFFER TO A FEW BANDS BECAUSE A BILLED ACT HAS FALLEN THROUGH AT LAST MINUTE.
