Things have really been heating up this summer for Cardiff based ‘Colorama’, with BBC 'Introducing' backing, many festival appearances at Glastonbury & Latitude and radio appearances such as Marc Riley's Show. Colorama’s psyche-folk songs exude raw emotion led by Carwyn Ellis’s unique luring vocals. Their 1st single Sound (2008) Redbricks Records was describeda a fanfare of acid folk, Sunshine psychedlia at it's best!

EVILS LP LAUNCH

EVILS first came to attention putting out bootlegs which picked up plays on XFM and Radio 1 - his version of Akira the Don’s “Patrick” hit number one in XFM’s Remix chart. Picking up plays on Radio 1 from Rob Da Bank, Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and Chris Coco, Evils has also supported other electronic artists such as Ladytron, Hot Chip and Kid Carpet.

PLYCI

PLYCI is a Welsh phantom who has been crafting beats and blips since the dawn of 2005. Since then he has played numerous gigs around Wales and beyond, played a live session for BBC Introducing Wales with Bethan Elfyn, has released an EP on Ciwdod Records and is soon to finally release his second Ep. His music has crossed many genres from Glitch to IDM to D’n’B but at the moment he is sitting nicely in Electro, expect a seamless mix of hard edged synthery, a wash of drums, blips and bangs and maybe even some Banjo…who knows?

Soy Un Caballo ('I am a Horse' in Spanish) are a Belgian duo who use vibraphones, rhodes and feature chanteuse Aurelie Muller. Their debut album was produced by Sean O'Hagan of the High Llamas and mixed by/featuring Cardiff's own Charlie Francis, with guest vocals from Will Oldham (Bonnie 'Prince' Billie). They released a limited edition gold vinyl 7" split with Tunng in March, who cover Soy Un Caballo's song 'Robin' on the a-side in English, with the band's original version on the flip. Their last single was split with This Is the Kit, covering her song 'Birchwood Beaker'.

Adam, Charlie and Sam have been writing, gigging and recording for the last four years. They've gigged all around the country, been played on Radio One several times, become the first and only unsigned band to sell out Swindon's 300‐capacity 12 Bar and been featured in Q Magazine. In the last year they've also spent entire afternoons watching The Office, eaten everything in Charlie's cupboards on a tri‐weekly basis nearly making him homeless on one occasion, argued about everything from reverb to The Faces vs Rod Stewart and shared many a bath together.

'Lovvers are different, and it's this aspect of their existence that makes them so exciting. The four piece  only blinked into life in May of last year, but since they've dominated stages around the country, overshadowing headliners with their furious flurry of short and sharp punk-rock songs'

JULIE DOIRON

Julie Doiron started playing guitar (then bass) in seminal art grunge act ERIC'S TRIP at age 18. Shortly before the band's break up in 1996 she released a solo album under the name 'Broken Girl', then has released all her subsequent material under her own name. She has appeared as a guest musician for HERMAN DUNE (Not on Top), released a split record with OKKERVIL RIVER, and collaborated on the 2008 MOUNT EERIE album Lost Wisdom. Her album 'Woke Myself Up' was shortlisted for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize, and Doiron is now touring her 9th solo album 'I Can Wonder What You Did With Your Day' (Jagjaguwar).
