Happy Autumn to you all,

As summer fades into the distance behind us, Lion O'Brien are pleased to announce that we won't be letting you get cold and miserable in the forthcoming winter months. No way, not we.

We've a busy calendar going into the tale end of 2009, with some pretty darn exciting gigs coming up that you can come along to and get a blast of summer sunshine (in musical form of course). Keep checking back for more dates as they're added, as we've got some really top draw gigs in the pipeline.

We're also planning a series of what we hope will be entertaining Youtube videos on our Youtube channel, more details of which will follow. Watch this space.

And if that's not enough, we're also planning to launch a competition in the next few weeks which will allow you lucky loons the chance to win a Lion O'Brien performance at your very own House Party!

So, don't be glum chums, Lion O'Brien will keep you smiling through the dark winter months, like a frisky dog, clutching onto your leg.

So, as we're helping them out, the Fly have said we can have an unlimited free guest list for all those wanting to come and watch us.....

BUT

you need to let us know if you're wanting to come so we can put you on the guest list!!!

If  you fancy watching Lion O'Brien and and the brilliant Neon Kicks, simply e-mail me at lionobrienmusic@gmail.com and tell me your name and the people you'll be bringing with you.

Look forward to seeing you!

Hey peeps,

Thanks to all those that have bought our debut EP so far, it's getting a very positive response and we really appreciate all the feedback that we've been getting from you - keep it coming!

We had another glowing review this week for the Raincloud Vs Sunshine EP on the Lost At Sea Webzine who said the record was the "perfect accompaniment to these dog days of summer". You can read the full review on their website: Lost At Sea

Another webzine, God Is In The TV, gave us a cracking 4 out of 5 stars in their review, which can be read here: God Is In The TV

In other news; we've been asked to play at Winston Zen's club night at the Good Ship, Kilburn, on 27th August, so keep the date free in your diary.

Cheers

James

A massive thank you to all those that came along to the Lion O’Brien launch party on Friday at the Betsey Trotwood. It was a fantastic evening with an electric atmosphere from the sell out crowd.

For those that couldn't get a ticket, you missed a great night! The brilliant Brighton based band, Clayton Strange, kicked off proceedings with an enthralling and frenetic set.
They were followed by the wonderful alt-folk of The Peryls, who transported the audience to their sinister yet magical fairytale nether-world.

Which meant that an already enthralled (and slightly juiced up) audience were in eager and enthusiastic mood when the new-look Lion O’Brien (Mike, Eve and myself were joined by new member Catherine) took to the small stage to perform a ten-song set of new and familiar songs, finished off with the four songs from the new EP.

The night was wonderfully wrapped up by the brilliant Heartbreakers DJ set until the early wee hours of the morning.

We must say a big thank you to the following people for helping make the evening so special:

- Firstly, the Betsey Trotwood for their hospitality and service on the evening.

- The delightful Stephen Rowan for being our compere for the evening.

- Clayton Strange, The Peryls and The Heartbreakers for playing such fantastic sets at our party.

- A massive thank you to Jo Barnes whose help, not only with the launch party but with the producing of the EP itself, has been invaluable and is hugely appreciated. Jo not only helped to lug equipment back and forth on the night but manned the entrance and organised the distribution of t-shirts/ shots/ mini-eggs with the patience of a saint. We love you Jo!

- Also a big thank you to our own Eve the funky drummer, who has been a big drive behind the launch of the EP and the party, working tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all happen.

- And once again, a big thank you to all those that came along on the night. We hope you had a fantastic night and we will see you all again soon at future Lion O’Brien parties and gigs.

Big Lion sized hugs

James
