Copied and Pasted from Whacksonville.com The link is at the bottom if you want to check it out on the site.
"Fact:
Doozers Pub is the shit. Is there any other public punk place in the
city? No. Whatever you were gonna say, shut up. There might be punk
shows here and there, there might be some yuppie bar with a Ramones
song on the jukebox, and you might have even seen someone with a
fauxhawk at a park once. Shut up. We’re talking about Doozers, not
losers. The Dooz turns two years old on Friday so come celebrate with 6
of Jacksonville’s best local bands (Jacksonville has more than 6 good
local bands? Yes.) that will move your spirit and bowels. Oh, your
friend’s band isn’t playing? Shut up. Get out of your fucking box
sometime.
What’s the best part about Doozers? Well, for
starters, no one gives a fuck who you are. All those hard earned scene
points don’t mean shit when you belly up to the bar in between a drunk
biker and Uncle J. If you think people should give a fuck who you are,
shut up. Fuck off. No one cares. And that is the beauty of it. There is
a tribal mixture at Doozers not unlike the noble and undefeated
Seminoles who once called this area home. All types of misfits, losers,
dropouts, and other unmentionables and undesirables congregate at the
Dooz to create a vibrant and roughshod community based on love, beer,
music, and survival. Don’t think the Dooz runs on love? Go ask TJ about
the balance sheet, or the bartenders about salary, or volunteers who
painted and helped decorate the place. Now shut up.
Another
wonderful thing about the Dooz is that 68th and Main is so far away
from your luxury condo in Ortega, you slimy fucking American pig dog.
This means beer is cheap and so are you. It also means cops don’t give
a fuck about noise complaints. Cops got called one night and the
drummer cheezed and got up from the kit. You know what the cop thought
about noise complaints? He opened the fucking door, sat down at the kit
in full uniform, and pounded the skins like John Bonham. Yeah I said
John Bonham. Shut up.
Good bands from around Florida, the
nation, and even the world enjoy the atmosphere at the Dooz. Most
complain bitterly that there is nothing like this in their whack ass
city. Doozers gives touring bands the chance to play for people who
actually enjoy live music, not standing outside until their friend’s
band plays and then leaving afterward. But the best part is that
Doozers provides a space for local music to blossom outside the trendy
sycophant talentless scene. Come play Dooz and you’ll be judged on how
good your fucking band sounds and not much else. Baxter likes just
about everything, so if you don’t have any new fans after a Doozers
show, you suck. Shut up.
So come to Doozers Friday, September 11
to celebrate 2 years since TJ took over the Kuntry Tavern and provided
all of us a place to drink and be merry. Grabbag, Talk Sick Earth,
Poncho Villa and the Banditos, SPP, the 2416, and Skatterbrain all play
for a recession/..depression friendly $5. If you think you have something better to do, fuck you. Shut up."

Any bands interested in booking just send me a message. I do not book through any booking agency or promotions companies usually, only through direct messages and phonecalls. On occasion I do allow 3 people to book here; Imperial Presents (Eddie), Vomikaust (Sam), and Chaosound(Ern). Before you message, be aware, we do not give guarantees on amount bands will be paid. Bands make the money made at the door, nothing more, nothing less. We don't discriminate on genres of music, but we do tend to book more punk shows than anything. We ask bands not to cover copyrighted music and to only play their original songs. We have our own PA and mics but you are welcome to bring your own mics to use. We can't typically have weekday shows.. we try to stick to Fridays, and Saturdays. Occasionally we do have weekday shows but not very often, so sorry ahead of time if we can't book you on the date you'll be in town. I like for the bands to be at the pub by 8pm, that way there is no confusion on if you're coming or not and gives time to load in before people come. We are located at 7636 North Main Street Jacksonville, Florida 32208. If you need any other information message me on here, email me at DoozersPub@myspace.com, or you can contact me on my cell, my number is 904-402-5722. -T.J. Doozer
(Don't be confused when I answer the phone, I am a female.)
