GRETA GERTLER & THE UNIVERSAL THUMP:
FINAL FUNDRAISING SHOW FOR NEW ALBUM
With full band, featuring Adam D Gold (drums), Byron Isaacs (bass), Pete Galub (guitar), Jon Dryden (organ), Noe Venable (backing vocals), Alice Bierhorst (backing vocals) and more special guests.  Byron Isaacs will open the show.

Hi Friends,

I hope you can make it to the show on December 7.  I am very excited about it!

Please visit Kickstarter.com to see the new video featuring Aussie-Brooklyn-ite musical legend, Barney McAll.  Barney contributed so much to my 2003 album, "The Baby That Brought Bad Weather" eg) incredible keyboard solos in "Everyone Wants to Adore You" and "Patience", and brass arrangement for "Mercurial Ways".  I'm so excited to be working with him again, on "The Universal Thump":

So now the pressure is on.  We have 26 days to go in which to reach the budget! If you or anyone you know might be interested in being involved, please tell them about the Kickstarter site, and all the cool things they can receive at different levels of donation - from simply purchasing the album in advance for $15 (The Pygmy Sperm Whale) to being an Executive Producer (The Right Whale).  Also, please feel free to blog about it on Myspace, Facebook, Twitter or elsewhere on cyberspace.  We really need your help to spread the word.  There is no marketing machinery, or record label investment behind this.  Just me, sitting at my kitchen table.

"A noble craft, but somehow a most melancholy! All noble things are touched with that." - Melville, "Moby Dick"

Yours sincerely and gratefully,

Greta & The Universal Thump Team

GRETA GERTLER & ADAM D GOLD (duo)
THE OMEGA TRIO
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24
BARBES (Park Slope, Brooklyn)
376 9th Street (at 6th Ave)
http://barbesbrooklyn.com
$10 suggested donation

10pm: GRETA GERTLER (piano/vocals) & ADAM D. GOLD (drums/vocals/guitar/laptop):
We'll be playing songs that we're currently recording for "The Universal Thump".  I will be bringing the best (and heaviest) keyboard in the world - the Yamaha CP30 - from The Bunker  especially for this show.  We'll also be filming this show, so loud cheering and streaking are encouraged.

* 11pm: THE OMEGA TRIO - Inspired by the concept of time's magnitude, Omega Trio looks to music as a metaphor for an attempt at understanding. Often referred to as a chamber ensemble, the group consists of Jesse Mills on violin & vocals, Rubin Kodheli on cello, and Tim Kiah on bass and vocals. The trio, which developed as part the ensemble known as Nurse Kaya, performs original music ranging stylistically from the impressionistic to the accessible.

I just found out that my song "Everyone Wants to Adore You" (the first verse) has been placed in a Bulgarian TV commercial for Globul.  Anyone seen it?  Here it is:
