It’s time for your monthly exotic disco fix…

E.S.P.
SATURDAY 8TH AUGUST
THE STAR OF BETHNAL GREEN
359 BETHNAL GREEN ROAD
9PM -2AM FREE BEFORE 10PM / £5 AFTERWARDS

DJ’S SEAN JOHNSTON & NATHAN GREGORY WIKINS

Sean Johnston has been DJ'ing since his formative years in the frozen North. Acid House Veteran, Techno Survivor, Hardway Bros, Beard Scientist and Freelance Disco Consultant he has played at some of London's landmark clubs including The Promised Land, Sabre Sonic, Club UK and Final Frontier.
His productions, alongside his fellow Hardway Bros, Jake Davies and a mysterious South Londoner known only as Rico have graced Sabres of Paradise, Third Mind, Flashcomm and more recently Beard Science, Pointless Edits and cult Norwegian act Mungolian Jetset's label Luna Flicks.
Sean's DJ'ing style described by FACT Magazine as "Future Disco" is hard to pin down to one convenient genre, taking in house, disco, re-edits, techno and frankly anything else that takes his fancy. Recent gigs at East Village with long time friend Andrew Weatherall, a stellar set at Disco Bloodbath and a super freaky down-tempo set on Tim Sweeney's Beats In Space radio show have helped him secure a residency at new and hotly tipped London club Cable's Future Flash night along with fellow residents Will Saul, Dave Congreve and Matt Waites.

Nathan Gregory Wilkins is one half of the History Clock label, whose recent release “Black Cat” has become somewhat of an anthem at certain disco establishments.
He also promotes the very hush hush monthly happening Private Party and guests at all manner of places and spaces including Disco Bloodbath, Caligula and  Dalston Superstore.

HISTORY CLOCK PRESENTS... THE FITZCARRALDO VARIATIONS
BLACK CAT B/W ANIMALS

The History Clock's custodians present their third outing on the label…
The Fitzcarraldo Variations (aka DJ Nathan Gregory Wilkins and Jonny
Burnip - the producer behind Capracara’s “King Of The Witches” on DFA)
are back from another journey into the past with two red-hot
reanimated oddities.
“Black Cat” is a devilishly raw glam-rock disco stomp, a seductive,
pulsating combination of heavy tribal drums, massive string stabs, a
huge brass section and the most infectious female vocal you’ll hear
this year.
Then roll up, roll up for “Animals”  - an eerie, primitive electronic
piece, layered with sounds effects that evoke the atmosphere of one
very sinister circus… Under the big top no one can hear you scream!!!
Already big with Lovefingers, Thomas Bullock, Damon Martin (Disco
Bloodbath) etc.

April 15, 2009 - Wednesday
HISTORY CLOCK PRESENTS... TARNISHED THIGHS

The History Clock returns for it's fifth journey with a pair of obscure reanimated relics from Tarnished Thighs. "ButterBall Rock" is a high octane leather bound cock rock disco number, a filthy male vocal and electric guitar led romp. Changing the mood entirely on the flip we have "Golden Spread", a hypnotic 103 BPM electronic/synth groove with all manner of wah wah and fuzz guitar adding colour to its Alfredo era White Isle atmosphere. *Tarnished Thighs is a pseudonym for Phoreski, who has released music previously on Bare Fist, Fat Fuk, Eskimo etc. (watch out for the relaunch of Fat Fuk in the next few months).

E.S.P is proud welcome back one our most regular, favourite and well respected guests Mark Seven.

This party celebrates the launch of Mark’s 'Originals' compilation on Claremont 56 Recordings. Mudd's label is home to some really beautiful music and this CD is no exception - the 'Originals' concept allows un-sung heroes of the dance music underground to compile a track list that reflects their unique taste and original twist on music selection. For anyone who has heard Mark play over the last couple of years many of the tracks will sound familiar as they have rocked more discerning dance floors the world over and will do so again on the night...

DJ and record dealer extraordinaire, Mark currently resides in Stockholm where he runs the legendary Black Lodge parties.
Back in 2007 he treated us to the exceptional, and now very scarce, Divine Edits single on Creative Use: http://www.discogs.com/release/1109179

And while your at it check out his now classic "A Slow Blow" mix here: http://www.dimman.se/

MARK SEVEN
DJ and record dealer extraordinaire, Mark currently resides in

GERRY ROONEY
Gerry has been involved in London's disco scene since the late 80's –
record shopping trips to New York alongside visits to The Loft, Sound
Factory and other legendary NY haunts with friend and fellow selector
DJ Harvey lead to their co-formation of Black Cock records - the now
mythical disco re-edit label. Back in London Gerry started dealing
records to London's more discerning collectors while playing at nights
such as Covent Garden's Moist. He continues to spin at some of the
worlds more underground venues including Loop in Tokyo, 39 Hotel in
Hawaii, APT New York and Plastic People in London and even found time
to play at the the coolest disco on the planet earlier this year,
Sarcastic Disco!!! http://www.myspace.com/harveysarcasticdisco

DJ ALEX
Alex is a long time champion of the obscure disco / house sounds we
all love - as part of the Voices Collective he has been putting on

Hello Disco Citizens

On Saturday 11th October E.S.P. celebrates its first all night party by
welcoming a very special guest - Mark Seven

Of course any disco types will know him best for his now legendary
"Slow Blow" mix and his amazing "Divine Edits" release on Creative Use
last year.

Mark started DJ'ing back in the late 80's as part of the emerging acid
house scene in the UK - based out Windsor way he set up and ran
various nights including Bizarre and hosted such guests as Danny
Rampling during the heady days of Shoom.

Many years later and Mark now resides in Stockholm continuing to run
parties and play guest spots around Europe. He currently co-runs The
Black Lodge - an occasional party that runs in ad-hoc venues round the city.
Alongside these Mark has recently started Revolution!, a monthly party
that has already hosted guests like Sadar Bahar & Maurice Fulton with
more respected names to follow..

In London you would hopefully have heard Mark spin at either Afternoon
Sessions / Voices / Tropical Hotdog / Hot Lunch etc.

The all night license allows us to give Mark the room to really stretch out
and dig deep into his exceptional record collection…

Really looking forward to this and thanks to everyone that made it
down to see Mo Morris from A Mountain of One last month...

PS. it's also Marks birthday that weekend (vodka, lime & soda is his
ruin, so top him up!!!)
