Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the studio and the talented 18 artists included in the exhibition! The space was jam-packed from 6pm all the way until midnight, with people from all walks of life reveling in good, old-fashioned art-lovin' fun. The Village Voice is posting a slideshow documenting the event early this week; we will post a link as soon as it is up!
We are so appreciative to all the mail we have been receiving and while we do read everything we get, it might take a while to respond to everyone. Here's an example of the beautiful letters that have been coming in the past two days!
"i just felt like i needed to write and thankyou for the experience of last night!! from an outsiders point of view, you created precisly what you had intended to create-
'supporting an art scene outside of the gallery establishment, and to promote a sense of community among working artists in NYC'
after being in New York for almost a week i have visited a handful of openings, and have never felt as confortable and as welcome as last night. you created exactly what i predicted the NYC art scene to be, and i have to admit uptill last night i was slightly dissapointed by the lack of community spirit. The spirit (as the Dadaists beleved) was the heart of an amazing art movement. i feel honered that i managed to sample such a raw treat!
thankyou!

(thank you, anna!)
With love, the folks at Headquarters
