Greetings friends, neighbors, lovers and relatives. You have just tuned into the Port Wine Stain Update Service.
I, Jimmy Lee, have just returned from Austin’s yearly South By Southwest music festival. I was not on the festival, considering as of 3 weeks ago the Port Wine Stain had no recorded material. Also, the band has been together for only a short amount of time. I went out as the driver for our friends the Hibachi Stranglers. I was armed with a reckless attitude and a Samsonite briefcase full of our hand stamped, limited edition e.p.’s, forcing them upon anyone with hands. And a few of them wound up in some awfully good hands, as a matter of fact. So, all in all, my promotional excursion turned out quite well.
What an insane festival. 3 straight days of sound. From every direction. Pouring out of every door. It would have already started every day when I got there, usually around noon. I would end up leaving around 3:30 am, at people would still be playing. My diet constisted of  Bloody Maries, Guinness, and the occasional Austin Dog. PEOPLE! So many people. All drunk and sunburned, and going-somewhere-much-cooler-than-wherever-you’re-going. Oversized sunglasses for every woman, on every man a European Carryall. Ha.
Anyway, hipster saturation aside, the festival had some real choice acts. I think I saw Gliss 4 times in 2 days. I know I saw Colour Revolt at least twice, there may be an unaccounted for 3rd time (see: diet) who really stole the show. All over the place. What a band. 3 guitars, and none of them pointless. Read that last part twice. YEAH. I mean it.
Anyway, now that festival is over and some demos have been recorded and strategically placed, look for some upcoming activity with PWS. We have a lot of artwork to do and do over, a lighting system to build, places to go people to see. You! We have to see you!

And we will see you. Soon.

Take care
