Indeed, El Zoológico is back at Petite&Jolie with his concept of catching the "essence" of animals through small'n'catchy tunes, classifying them by ecosystems.

A los buenos netlabels se los puede reconocer desde la primera referencia, y esto nos pasó con la de petite jolie. Aquí tenemos la segunda entrega para demostrar que esto es cierto y que el nivel que se avecina con estos franceses es mucho. En media hora repartida en 12 temas el zoológico desde Puerto Rico nos regala un trabajo de pop electrónico instrumental sin complejos, con dosis de experimentación, buenas guitarras y un sonido muy logrado.

today hiddenplace music features the second release from the intriguing new netlabel petite&jolie. a very special double ep, The Jungle & The Aquarium is the first 2 of 4 planed eps from puertorican musician el zoológico. here he presents a challenging and captivating collision of electronic and acoustic sounds, bouncing from playful organic glitchyness, to melancholy indie- and electropop, and of course a heavy dose of petite&jolie's trademark 'cutetronica.' its an eclectic & exotic combination of sounds which shouldnt work, but somehow does. enjoy your tour of the zoo!

El Zoológico - The Jungle & The Aquarium



Après une compilation panoramique en guise d'ouverture, le netlabel français petite&jolie présente sa "véritable" première sortie avec un musicien de Porto Rico, El Zoológico, qui sur ce court album distille une pop électronique mélancolique aux accents lo-fi et aux mélodies simples et jolies, quelque part entre Plaid et Lowfish.
Qu'il accélère ou qu'il ralentisse le rythme à l'extrême, El Zoológico parvient toujours à garder un certain équilibre dans une mosaïque de titres immédiats et faciles à écouter.
