WHAT'S UP SHOWERHEADS!!!!

What you have right in front of you as you open up our awesomely grand MySpace page is the new mix to the songs on the Bunny Hugs EP!

Yes, the same songs as before, but you'll notice little tidbits here and there:

-Blue Midnight now has keyboards!
-Bad Scars & Past Lovers now has percussion!
-The band plays with pride!
-We have become immensely self-indulgent!

So the songs posted up are what you find on the Bunny Hugs EP, available on CD at every show, which we give you for free as a thanks for showing up.

In other news we are now at work on EP number 2: The Baden Baden EP. Baden Baden is the name of a drink, which really doesn't taste all that good, but as a band, like any other relationship, one cannot undervalue the power of compromise. Let me explain.

The decision to call the first EP Bunny Hugs was mine and Frank's. Now, the same night we all tried the Bunny Hugs drink, Mickey was throughly enjoying this drink we also had never heard of, called Baden Baden. So we thought it'd only be fair to have this EP named after it.

We usually stick to beer, wine, and whiskey, but I guess this is what happens when you put a drinks menu in our hands.

That having been said, as interesting as it must be to read about the history of the name of an EP that hasnt even been fully recorded yet, let me explain what will be on it.

First off, 2 Brand new songs which will appear on the album will be included. As a bonus, we thought it'd be cool to record some stuff that won't be on the album, so we're gonna be throwing 3-4 acoustic tracks on this EP. We'll give you the tracklist soon.

Meanwhile, here is the deal for this EP when it comes out: we will be selling it at shows, and we'll give you a free copy of the Bunny Hugs EP if you buy it. Or you can probably just pull off having a free copy of Bunny Hugs anyway, we're pretty lousy businessmen for now, so take advantage of us.

On that note:

ENJOY THE NEW MIXES UP ON MYSPACE, AND MORE NEWS AND SHOWS TO COME SOON

CHEERS!

Shawn

HEY!!!

We finished our first ever EP, "Bunny Hugs" which contains 4 tracks (Superstar, Lisbon, Blue Midnight, Bad Scars & Past Lovers) in brand new mixes not in this MySpace page!

They rock more, sound bigger, and best of all - if you are one of the first 50 people to show up at the gig this friday (At Bistro De Paris, see the Tour Dates section for more info....the show is free by the way!) - you will receive a FREE copy of the EP.

Once again, this EP was entirely recorded on our own, except for the drums, which were recorded at Red Rhino studios, in 2 days.

There will be further info soon - new songs are being recorded and are near completion, and will be on the MySpace page ASAP.

We hope to see ya friday!

Love & Bunny Hugs,

Thy Hot Showers.

Current mood:  rockin
HEY!
So we thought we'd take up a blog to talk to ya about our upcoming plans and recap a bit of what's going on for 2009.
First off, we had 3 incredible shows in Feb-March at Bistro de Paris, then at L'Hemisphere Gauche (cheers to the band Madam Flipflop for arrangements, and congrats on their 1st ever show, it rocked!) and then at the Crobar (cheers to Howard Siroky, may your Keytars live forever).

As for now, we are still in the recording process. DIY takes time, folks!!!

We're doing this entirely on our own, and the result should be a pretty damn kickass album - the songs you hear on the MySpace player are nowhere near the finished product, and we'll actually have 1-2 more songs up VERY soon, so keep an eye/ear/limb/beer out. The album will have at least 12 songs on it (all our own material of course), but it could potentially have up to 16 (or we could pull off the old trick of having 43 interludes and make a 56 song album, which would look so damn impressive...especially if you dont call the interludes "Interlude" - you keep it subtle, like "Dust Off The Flies" or something really obscure, we would look really intellectual too, but when you listen to it it'll just be 12 seconds of silence. We're all about selling out, even when we dont have anything to sell.)

As for shows: even though we dont have any announced there will be some in the very near future, again, we'd love to do more, but with great recording comes great responsibility (I stole that line from Spiderman) - BUT THERE WILL BE MORE SHOWS SOON!!

ALSO: MERCH.
Yes, you will be able to wear us!!! But not like Leatherface does! That's right! Even if you won't be able to literally wear US, because we then would not have skin anymore, we will have official band T-shirts (and good lookin' ones at that, might I add) for sale, and we're also looking at stickers, buttons, and various othermerch items that could be cool - all coming up quite soon (once we figure out which brand of t-shirts we want them printed on...These are the conversations we have - "Fruit of the loom vs. Gildan" - exciting!)

Also in the news:
WE HAVE A WORKING, NON-SPAMMING WEBSITE.
www.thehotshowers.com - check it out!!!

The reason you don't see any adds or spam? This is entirely on our own server folks, so we put what we wanna put, give away what we wanna give away, and don't have to worry about nothin'! Mad Hot Showers props goes out to Frank, our ever soul shredding guitarist, who maintains the website and designed it and takes care of updates.

Although if you miss the old days of spam, you can visit our old website,
www.thehotshowers.itgo.com, of which it seems all of our content has disappeared and has become spam entirely.
SO, QUICK RECAP: WE ARE WORKIN' HARD TO MAKE THIS ALL WORK! SO ROCK ON!!!!

If you have any suggestions, or would like to share your opinion as to which brand of t-shirt you would like to wear, or would (and i strongly recommend the next option) like to
buy us beer, you can either

a) Reply to this blog
b) Send us an email through our website
c) Point to the north star, hope we find you to hear you out.

Cheers folks, and please check back often for more updates and new songs!!!!

WE HAVE NEWS!!! AND THERE'S NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!!!

First off :

Let's give a warm, 1200 degrees Fahrenheit-style welcome to the newest  (and definitely tallest) member of The Hot Showers: Frank-Phil!

A man with such shredding power that he has two first names because one would not be enough to capture his sheer face-melting intensity! Frank-Phil will join us on guitar, and possible even some bass. Maybe both at the same time!

Rock on!

SECONDLY!

Now - as you can see, we posted up some new songs. Superstar, Bad Scars & Past Lovers, and Blue Midnight were all recently recorded for demo form (there's still a multitude of percussion and keyboard, and whatever else we can find that might sound cool to be recorded later on). These are not final mixes, however, we hope you enjoy 'em, y'all.

On that note - lookout for more recordings to be posted in the next few months. On our side, 2009 will be the year where you'll see us doing more shows than ever before, so if you live in Montreal, we'll be coming to a town near you!!

On that note, keep on rockin' - hope you like the songs!

The Official Hot Showers' Myspace Blog guy/drummer,

Shawn

The band that brings you an explosive (but not really explosive because then we'd be dead)  musical extravaganza every time has some really good news.

We're recording an album! Will be done by year's end!

I LOVE MYSPACE'S NEW FONT FEATURES THIS IS SO IMPRESSIVE WE LOOK HUGE RIGHT NOW!!! MICKEY LOOK AT THIS, DUDE!!

The drums are already recorded! They sound absolutely amazing and very, very loud (this is good by a drummer's standards...) so thanks to Red Rhino Studios for kicking serious ass!

We'll have 12 songs on it! They will all rock! Except for the ballads!

All done in Do-It-Yourself fashion! We're taking our time with recording to have our first done well, and by the standards we choose! Not that we have a choice! But we're not complaining at all!

     RAW POWER.

We like to jam! So come see us randomly at the Crobar, on Crescent street (right next and above Brutobia)!

We'll let you know when we're going as soon as we know!

So keep checkin' back this page!

...Because also, as the recording process goes on, we're gonna post stuff as it's being developped! Hope you like it rough! Also, I'm gonna learn to mess around more with this new blog design thing! This is so cool!!

Now lay your weary heads to sleep, for The Hot Showers' time is drawing near.......(Imagine King Diamond narrating that last line, it'll sound much more impressive...and that's how I mean it.)

Your Blogger With A Cause,

Shawn

Current mood:  giggly

Hello people!!

So here's a rundown of a generally awesomely awesome night, which we had the Pub Jacques Cartier! First off, and quite importantly,we had lots of free beer! We want to thank those responsible for providing us with this! It worked!!

Now, as for the show itself, we played a brief 40 minute set in support of fellow Montreal rockers, Shyna, and it was a really, really fun set. Actually, we were able to get a pretty decent recording of it, so once I finish reading the owner's manual and figure out how to do this, I'll transfer that over and post it in herre (spelled like that Nelly song, but then with more grit and less bandaid-on-cheek).

There'll be more news soon, more shows, you know, stuff that a band does and all that, coming shortly. Stay tuned for those live songs, they'll be up shortly!

Here is the setlist in order:

MESSERSCHMITT

SUPERSTAR

GOLF SHOES

BLUE MIDNIGHT

BAD SCARS

I'M THE WIND

DANCING IN A DARK ROOM

VIVA FOREVER (SPICE GIRLS COVER)

Thanks to everyone that showed up!!

Cheers!!!!!

Screams!!!

Demonic Laughter From Beyond!!

Hello you magnificent ones!

So as you can see, hear and experience (unless you have no speakers, or your sound is off, or they're just broken) a brand spankin' new song has been put up: Messerschmitt!!!

Yes indeed, keep looking back, this is just a taster. It will be reworked in the next week, and in the next few weeks, more fantastic future Grammy winners will be up!

We hope you love it all! We love you! More than you love yourselves!!

Until next time!!

Your favorite blog-rebel,

Shawn

Oh also!!! We have a show!! Pub Jacques Cartier, April 26 2008! Details on main page!

Current mood:  cold

Yesterday marked our very first show in 3 years, and though we can't literally tear the roof off because we're not that muscular, this was a very cool show.

Thanks to everyone who came down, hope you liked it as much as we did...as a reminder, here was the setlist:

(FIRST SET)

WHY DON'T YOU
SUPERSTAR
SIMI
BAD SCARS
1000 ANGELS
BLUE MIDNIGHT
LOVE GUN (KISS)
MESSERSCHMITT
DOO WOP
GOLF SHOES
I'M THE WIND
VIVA FOREVER (SPICE GIRLS)

(SECOND SET)

CHILI
CORAZON
LISBON
BACKSTREETS (BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN)
DOWN BY THE RIVER (NEIL YOUNG & CRAZY HORSE)
WHAT A WASTER (THE LIBERTINES)
DANCING IN A DARK ROOM
ROCKIN' IN THE FREE WORLD (NEIL YOUNG) (WE LIKE NEIL YOUNG)

And so was a funtastic free extravaganza brought to you by yours truly!

Lastly and not leastly, we wish to thank the bands Danny Rebel and Igloo Arsenal who helped to make this a night that will be remembered as Live Aid's Bastard Cousin. There was really no good cause we were fighting for, in fact we weren't fighting for anything at all, and instead of stories of David Bowie entering dressing rooms and no one remembering what hapened afterwards, we have Chris who is absolutely sure that we played Nostalgia as well last night. Myself, I don't remember such song being played, though I remember everything else. So Chris, don't give up hope, you may be right, but I'm the one writing the blogs, and until then, the setlist is what my memory says it is. If my memory tells me that I stripped completely to perform an acapella version of The Power Of Love by Celine Dion, than I did.

Rock on!!!
