Current mood:  accomplished
Man we had so much fun tracking the basics for the new CD! We usually record at our personal place (PlanetGrey Studios), but our new producer Bob got us such an outrageous deal at a studio he used to be part owner of, that we just couldn't pass it up. We were mostly there for drums, using great gear in a good live room. A good portion of Guns And Roses "Appetite" was recorded on that particular board. Good Karma say we!

Bob - Master Of Ceremonies!

Yeah, a good bit of GNRs Appetite was recorded on this board. Good Karma!

We spent four very long days recording with The Bouncing Souls drummer Mike, who is probably the hardest hitter we've ever played with! The guy plays with amazing intensity for hours on end, cracks the snare, pounds the kick and is top notch in every way. It was really great to have him, we're lucky he was into our stuff and he brought a lot to the table concerning feel and ideas. A real pro. He played until his fingers bled and we love him for it. Couldn't have been any better.

Mike from The Bouncing Souls is Slammin!

Frank and I worked with him to get the feel just right on lot of things, and it really felt good recording without the pressure of also engineering. Bob made my recording life a thrill this time around!

Making sure the shit is tight!

Gee and Bob in the control Room, Frank and Mike in the live room!

Frank and Mike polishing things up!

Now that all the basics and drums are tracked we're going to go back to PlanetGrey in mid-May to start cutting guitars and vocals and guest performances. We've already got a ton of musicians who want to play on the CD and who may have helped us with the demo versions. That's one of my personal favorite parts! We are documenting everything in both photographs and on video (thanks to the awesome Mr. Andreas Hofweber so there's plenty more to come!

The video for It's Halloween is coming along well. Almost all the models are built and are now in the painting stage (I know, I know it's taking a long time). I really underestimated how long it takes to do something like this the right way, but as usual I want it to be the best possible quality. In the next blog I'll include some pictures of how it's shaping up...

As usual thanks for the support, we welcome comments and drop us a line to let us know what you've got going on!

Whoo Hooo!

New demo for the song "13 Steps" is up now! Crank it up! What do you think??

Frank And I are in the studio all next week, still working on the new CD with Mike - Drummer from the Bouncing Souls. Our new producer has worked with tons of bands (My Chemical Romance, Alice In Chains etc. etc.). Bob is the man and we are stoked. We'll also be using some of his custom amplifiers that Frank picked up specifically for the new CD. The next album is going to be our best yet.

We are looking for a late summer release with a possible tour to follow in the fall.

We haven't been around a lot lately getting prepared for this recording just making a living and trying to stash cash. I'm sure most of you know how it is. We've also been working on a ton of new tunes.

We've auditioned a few people for drums and bass and while Chris "the Butcher" is on call for gigs, his time is limited and he really can't fully commit. We're looking for road dogs who are interested in being in the band full time. Not an easy thing to find, but we're still looking for just the right guys. When it's perfect we'll know. No use in settling at this point - we've done it way too much in the past!

We're currently working on a video for "It's Halloween". It'll be stop motion animation and we're getting a little oversight help from Voltaire (who by the way is on tour with his full band so go see him if he comes to your town - he doesn't tour the full band often). The video is of course set in a cemetery and has lots of the things we all love:

Graveyard
Skeletal Band
Zombies
Blood
Bats
Jack O' Lanterns
Headstones
Crypts

- need we say more?

Since it's a very slow process to animate this way, the video should be ready within the next month or two. I'll probably do some photo blogs on how everything is going and we're filming the entire process!

Next week I'm going to run a COST (yes you heard it right - COST) T-Shirt sale to raise some extra dough for both of these projects we have going on. We have extra stock on everything except the logo shirts, so the sale is for all other styles. Looks like it'll be around $7 a shirt post paid and if you've ever wanted to get a shirt now is the time. You'll also be helping us get new material to you by supporting!

We haven't heard from a lot of you guys lately so touch base and let us know you're out there and what you're up to!

Current mood:  excited

Ok here goes peeps! We've finally decided on a drummer and here he is Chris Mele!

http://www.myspace.com/5558611

Not only is this man a phenomenal drummer, he plays in quite a few different bands (including my good Norwegian friend Mark Steiner's "Piker Ryan". He owns his own custom drum shop and last but not least is a REAL doctor! Yes I mean - physician! That's two we know (what's up Mauricio!). We've wanted to work with Chris since our first drummer left way back when in 1999, but he was engrossed in school then and didn't have the time. We've known him for YEARS, he "GETS IT" and is amazing at the craft of drumming.

Please give him a warm welcome…

Most songs are laid for the Murderfest Destiny demos although they are still in all stages and sorts of dis-array. Frank N. Stein and I plan to be finished by month's end. Finally an accurate record for the most part of what the new CD will ultimately sound like. I'm excited. I really think this is going to be, hands down, the best thing we've ever done. Good things take time. We want to break barriers.

The custom Phantom Limited Serpenteen T-Shirts are now in the works. FULL COLOR! The deadline for ordering is June 15th. The cost will be $20. ppd ($22 for XXL - XXX).

These shirts will feature your name or nickname on the back with everyone who orders one.

When you order please give the name (first and last) or nickname that you would like on the back of the shirt and also YOUR SIZE! PLEASE do this when you order so I don't have to chase you down later and kill you J .  You can hit the link on our front page!

If you want to order with a check or money order send it here:

G. Grant 231 East 5th Street STE. A
NYC, NY 10003

A check is better so that I can return it to you if we don't make the minimum (include all info mentioned above). Paypal will also be refunded directly if the minimum isn't met. If your check or MO isn't on my autopsy slab by the 14th you'll probably be out o' luck…

I need to do a 2 dozen minimum so please order early so I can gauge quantities! I will also include free stickers with every order.

When you see the "new demo on page now sign" on our profile you know that we put a new track up for 24 hours to test feedback. Comment so we see what your thoughts are.

Guilty pleasures since the last blog:

Sweeney Todd (Fantastic – so there's singing. Deal with it!)
Cloverfield on DVD
Retrofitting my preamps and tube mics with vintage telefunken tubes. SWEET.
Recalibrating the drum room - sounds like a million bux!

Pet Peeves:

People who see you on the corner waiting for a cab and just walk right in front of you and start waving. Some of them even have the nerve to give you "tude" when you tell them to "get ta steppin!"

People who will walk against the light and in front of your cab risking their lives to get somewhere 10 seconds earlier. These people also seem to give "tude". Dude it's raining real hard and you're wearing all black. How stupid are you?

Slow ass bartenders! Yo! you're friends are grubbing for free. You need to get my drink instead of talking to them. If you don't care, I don't care so don't give me the shit smelling face if you don't get tipped after making me wait 10 minutes.

- Keep it dead, drop us some comment love - more news as it develops!

Big News!

We've been laying low since the beginning of the year… And here's the scoop!

As of March 1st Glenn and Mark have decided to officially depart the band. Glenn, to do other things musically and Mark to take a serious break from the hectic schedule. We've played a lot of shows together and did some great recordings with this line-up – but sometimes good things do come to an end.

As the songwriters of the band, Frank N. Stein and I are working with some new people and have decided to put together a primarily touring act (which may even contain some familiar faces) so that we can cover the whole US and possibly Europe toward the end of 2008. We'll be doing fewer "one off" gigs and weekend road-trips. It's really time to put our house in order and take some things to a new level.

Mark was in the band from day one and will always be considered an "official/un-official" Serpenteens member. He will also be playing on the upcoming recording – and speaking of which…

We have also been producing demos for all the tracks for the BRAND NEW Serpenteens CD titled "Murderfest Destiny!"! Yep - you heard it here first. We're getting set up to record in late April 2008. So far we've done about 12 songs out of the 20 we have, to decide what we want to use for the CD.

Some of the titles are:

Unbelievable
Sex Arcana
Spooky
Crematorium Operator
Stay Awake
Raising The Dead
Pretty Flesh
SuperCrawler
Do You Wanna Be Destroyed!
When She's Undead
The Gift
Down to Your Grave
Blackness in Your Heart
The Valley Of The Sun

+ More!

I don't mind if I say so myself – the new stuff is KILLER (no pun intended!). We'll be doing stuff on this CD that you've never heard us – or any other – horror rock band do! The songs are ambitious and there will be plenty of guest appearances to go around!

There are more changes to come – sit tight.

**************

We've submitted for Dragon Con again this year so and we're hoping to get back to Atlanta so that we can meet up with all the great peeps we met last year. Thanks to all the Horrorheads who have been asking us to come back.

***************

Speaking of Horrorheads, give Paskull a hand over at the Europe site with his questions. He's one of our oldest, MAD COOL peeps and donates his time to do a fansite for us which we appreciate – he even comes up with cool kustom graphics. Here's the questions and the link:

1. What´s your favorite SERPENTEENS song?
2. When did you start to listen to SERPENTEENS?
3. Do you own one/both albums of SERPENTEENS ?
4. Which of the two SERPENTEENS-albums do you prefer ?
5. How often have you seen SERPENTEENS live ?

http://www.myspace.com/horrorheads

If you haven't already answered them PLEASE DO. Sign up as well. Let us know that more people out there still actually give a shit! It only takes a minute and you won't get any stupid e-mails later J . He's going to get some live footage for his page that won't be on any of ours… And it's' some good stuff…

**************

Another BIG Item!!!:

One of our main ace boys Brad Perry from 'Da Burg (Yinz better recognize!) did the full color artwork for the "collector's edition" shirt. Ladies and gentleman - I give you - The Phantom!:

Off the hook people!

As we said before this shirt will be pre-sold and printed in a VERY small quantity. Each person who prepays before the deadline (when we figure out what that is going to be - hahahahahaha!) gets his/her name or nickname printed on the back as part of the design. More details coming soon…Rad 'yall…

****************

I'll be doing a guest vocal appearance on the new Blitzkid recording (they're doing it as we speak) and although I'm not sure what song yet, when it's Blitzkid you know that everything will sound great.

I'm looking forward to it!

***************

Highlights and guilty pleasures over the past few months:

Cloverfield (Holy Shitballs! sez Frank N. Stein)
30 Days Of Night (Off the hook blood, gore, head chopping and throat ripping!)
Voltaire's video shoot for "Happy Birthday" (The dead guy we roasted was awesome!)
Beowulf (Crispin GLover's Grendel is da shiznit)
The Sword (S/T CD - what more need be said?)
The Sentinel (1977 – possibly one of THE most underrated horror flix EVER!)
Witchfinder General (Death Penalty CD)
Iron Maiden (Piece Of Mind CD + Frank's history of Iron Maiden Part 1 DVD)
Ravenous (What can you say about a movie with demon cannibal? - holee shit that's what!)

Talk to me people – the bulletin response section is now open! – Beat my ears!

Well well well… seems like this great year is about to come to an end. We met a lot of new folks this year, played a lot of shows and had a lot of fun. Cheers to you all… Thanks to all the new peeps that have friended us since the last blog and extra special thanks to Paskull for starting the myspace horrorhead Euroclub! If anyone wants to join you can go here:

http://www.myspace.com/horrorheads

If you are in the Richmond Virginia area come out and see us at Wonderland on Saturday 12/8. My friend, X-tine, has put a lot of effort into the show and we really wanna make her proud and happy ?!

Also – thanks to everyone who offered to help us hook up gigs around this date. At the last minute it seemed a bit dubious to try and throw something half cocked together – but we do appreciate the help on it.

The show at Trash Bar on 11/30 really kicked ass. All the bands were GREAT and were in top form. Audience cross-pollination was outstanding. As usual the sound was impeccable. Here's some highlights from our part of the show:

A good time was had by all!

In other news we're about to hit the MEANY FEST finals on Saturday 12/29 at the Knitting Factory in Manhattan (The Main Stage!) – thanks to you guys. In this final part of the competition there will be a panel of judges so we'll really get to show what we can do in front of people who can tell the difference between good and bad! We heard this thing sells out so if you're coming out you should get tickets in advance. You can RSVP here:

http://newyork.going.com/MEANYFESTFINALE

This show is 18+ so if you're under 21 you can attend – but you can't drink obviously.

We're going to be featured on Little Steven Van Zandt and Genya Ravan's Sirius Radio show "Goldie's Garage" on January 8th (Midnight on the East Coast, 9pm on the West Coast) as part of an ongoing best song contest. They'll be playing (Please Be My) Zombie Bride. It's up for a vote so if you have Sirius Radio – please tune in. Little Steven is behind this so it should be good. For more info you can go here:

http://www.goldiesgarage.us/

T-Shirt CD Special for Christmas
I also wanted to let people know that from now until Christmas, anyone who buys a CD and a T-shirt will get a second T-shirt design for HALF PRICE. That's right – a second tee for $6 (this doesn't include the ladies spaghetti strap though). If you buy 2 shirts you can ge the 3rd design for $6 as well. The special ends December 24, but I'd advise you to order earlier if you want to get the stuff by Christmas. Orders after 12/15 cannot be guaranteed for Christmas, but we'll do our best to get it to you if you do order later than that. If you want to give a shirt or CD as a gift we can ship it to where you want as well.

We're still working on the custom shirt – but it probably won't be ready until 2008!

G's pet peeves this blog:
1) Time burglars, energy vampires and thought bandits. We all have them to some degree – but don't they suck?
2) Diamond commercials around Christmas. I guess the only way to show your love to someone is with an expensive "rock". Some people really need to get a grip. Who else just wants to blow up both Kay Jewelers and Zales?
3) Re-using the same songs over and over for commercials is LAME. It's getting so bad lately you can actually hear the same song for a different product almost back to back. "What I Like About You" is indeed played out.
4) Scumbags who don't clean up after their dogs on the street (you probably have to live in a city area to REALLY understand this). I don't have animals so why should I smell and step in shit from YOUR freaking mutt? Bag it asshole.
5) People who put sooooo much stuff on their myspace pages that the damn things won't even load, and you end up leaving the page before you can even say hello to them. This one really sucks.
6) Critics who don't actually listen to your CD before they review it. It just makes them look stupid.
7) Reality TV (especially the stuff on VH1 and MTV) enough already… PLEASE.
8) Wacky bands that you don't even know who think they should just be able to use your expensive ass gear just because they think they deserve to. Funny enough – YOU'RE the asshole if you say no!
9) Movie channels like HBO and Cinemax showing the same movies over and over and over for months on end. There have to be at least a million movies since filmmaking began, so why do I have to see the same ones all the time? It's not like these extra channels are cheap!
10) People who have no respect for personal space – man that's a bummer!

Feel free to comment because as always, I wonder if the same shit bugs you!

If we don't see or speak to you before have a great Holiday Season and enjoy yourselves!

Ok Ok - Just wanted to freak you all out! We WON! That's right!
$500 smackaroos and a place on the final concert for the whole
shebang - we're finalists I say! I gotta admit, with pleasure - we couldn't
have done it without all of you. I also Have to thank MEANY FEST and Going.com for
being fair about the whole thing. We suspected that something with the voting wasn't
cool and they saw through the bull and did the right thing. Again we couldn't have done
it without the help of every single person who took the time to help
us. As you can see supporting bands you like really does pay off for them
sometime.
We both thank and salute you. Special thanks again to Voltaire
and thanks to Bradd and Carrie at B&G.

You can see the listing here in all it's glory: http://www.meanyfest.com

The finals will take place at the KNITTING FACTORY MAIN STAGE on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 29TH This event yearly sells out weeks in advance so if you're coming to the get your tickets asap at:

date so you can come and watch us kick everybody's doors in! We hope that we can get
everybody's help sometime again the future. We don't abuse it, and if we ever ask again
you'll know we mean business :-).

We also have several shows coming up to the end of the year, so if you are
around come and have a good time with us.

A lot of people have be responsive to the "limited" t-shirt idea and this is what
I was thinking. FEEDBACK on this!

Double sided color shirt. Prepay reservation after we premiere the design. All 60 people
who reserve get thier name on the back! That's 60 slots only - forever immortalized on the
back of a one time only custom shirt - nickmames, full names ok! What do you think

So much good news and good stuff. Man I feel lucky we have so many good friends. I insist
you comment. EVerybody's two cents on this blog is requested!

We had a blast in Both Pittsburgh and Bluefield horrorfest. Special thanks to: Spahr, Brian, Todd, Sharon and the Rock-It, Tim (for booking us at Horrorfest and being a man of his word) Marc from Under a Nightmare, Scott (for booking us and partying hardy afterwards) Joel at the Pub and all the friends and fiends in both towns who turned out. Last weekend Bedford NH kicked ass as well (despite the fact that: the club wouldn't accept my expired I.D. and wouldn't let me drink, security proceeded to draw giant X's on the back of BOTH of my hands and every bartender in the place had the shit smelling face). We'd like to thank Lysa, Jesse, our new friends The Creepin Cadavers and the mighty Automatons. It was good to see those guys again and to shoot the shit with TB. Anyone with pix from any of these shows please let us know so I can get copies!

Friday November 9th We're playing Meatlocker Studios in Montclair NJ – It's ALL AGES so if you're in the area come by and see the show. We'll be appearing with The Coffin Daggers and Hooliganism!!

Meatlocker Studios (Downstairs)8 Park St. Montclair, NJ 07042. Showtime 10pm!

Still no word on the going.com contest! We want to thank everyone who stepped to plate and voted for us. It's good to see who's really in our camp and who isn't. We'll announce the results as soon as we know. An extra big thnaks to Voltaire for rolling up his sleeves and pitching in. He really went out of his way to help.

We put up a few new galleries of live photos (check 'em out) and in the week to come we'll be putting a gallery up of some of the best live photos we ever taken from photographer Rob Braunfeld. They are from our 2006 Halloween show with Graves – a bit late but WELL worth the wait. Be sure to check back.

To our European Friends (and fiends worldwide!). There is now a Serpenteens Myspace Page for Europe. It's also open to everyone and we'll be featuring some exclusive content there from time to time.

http://www.myspace.com/horrorheads

Join!

It looks like we'll be heading back into the studio to record a bunch of new tunes in December:

Crematorium Operator

Down To your Grave

Sex Arcana

SuperCrawler

Do You Wanna Be Destroyed?

Stay Awake

The Gift

Hopefully we'll be looking at putting something new out in spring of '08. There's a bunch more tunes but we're still working on them. The studio just got a few microphone upgrades and the recorder is headed to the shop so it's nice and fresh when we're ready…

We're thinking about doing a limited edition shirt – 50 in the run, double sided and possibly color. – HARDCORE FANS ONLY. Anyone interested? Comment if so.

Gee's personal pet peeves this month:

Jennifer Lopez is trying WAY too hard. J-Lo, you are not 20 anymore, nor do you look like anyone in the Pussycat Dolls – grow up. Your commercial for Rhapsody is mad stupid.

If bands are going to cheat at contests just don't suck – be able to deliver at the end of the day. And on that note – most contests have nothing to do with talent – they have to do with how many people care to support your band.

People e-mailing out of the blue asking for free stuff because they are broke. Man is that annoying. When I'm broke I just go without whatever it is. You should too.

Dumb bands that have NOTHING to do with what we are all about friending us. I'd like to pipe bomb the euro-trance-death-pop-metal band with 100,000 meaningless friends that keeps bugging us.

Drunk people at shows who go out of their way to ram into you as many times as they can before you get pissed and break a nose.

Advertisements for drugs on TV that may put you into a coma or give you a heart attack. Do you really need to get rid of your chronic heartburn THAT bad?

DVD's that don't give you the special features and make you wait for the "special edition".

Good Day J

If you've already voted thank you. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU VALIDATE YOUR VOTE! AFTER YOU REGISTER THEY WILL SEND YOU AN E-MAIL THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO VALIDATE YOUR VOTE. WE DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY GET YOUR VOTE JUST BECAUSE YOU SIGNED UP TO THE SITE!!!! CHECK YOUR SPAM BOX AND IF YOU HAVEN'T GOTTEN AN E- MAIL TO VERIFY YOUR VOTE LET US KNOW!

Anyhow - if you hear the WHACK band we're up against you'll see why we need to win. We're also only 10 votes ahead of the 3rd place band WE NEED THIS!!!!
Get your friends to help us out!!!

Serpenteens REALLY need your help people – please read!

We already know our people are the coolest – so we need to ask for your help. We played the MEANY Festival in NYC in mid-October and did really well. We're not sure if we won a place in the final showcase. Meany Fest has a deal with going.com that will make sure that 1 band is DEFNITELY in the showcase round. They're also giving the band that has the most votes $500.00 in cash.

All you have to do is hit the url below (or on our page and website), join our group and vote for us – it's that simple.

VERY IMPORTANT: don't forget to VALIDATE your vote by responding to the e-mail they send you. We don't get the vote unless you VALIDATE IT! BE sure to check your spam folder!!!!!

VOTING ENDS MIDNIGHT OCTOBER 31st – so TIME US SHORT!!!

Now normally we don't stuff like this or ask people to sign up to anything. There's usually a thousand bands and it's usually just a clusterf**k. But due to the limited amount of bands that actually played the Fest over that week, this is something that you guys could actually REALLY help us win!

I know it's a pain in the ass, but this is when we really need the people who dig what we do to come out of the woodwork and support the team. Those of you who have seen us live KNOW how we do things onstage so we'd really like to guarantee ourselves a spot on the showcase list. We'll deliver for everyone from there. This is a big one for our hometown profile as well.

Thanks in advance and please share this with some friends. Get them in on the act – we actually have a REAL chance here!

- G and the Serps! (Leave comments on this if you want - it makes us feel good :-))

Dragon Con Extravaganza!

What a blast we had at Dragon Con! SO MANY great things happened we couldn't believe it!

Hello to all the new friends we made who have been contacting us here - there's so many to
name it's easier for us to just thank you all. You made Dragon Con super special for us.

The staff at D*COn was especially nice, helpful and really kicked butt not just for us,
they kicked ass for ALL the talent! Special shout outs for Billy Messina (extra thanks for
taking care of Mark) Billy Harrison, Clyde from Emerald Rose, Paul Cashman, Derek from the
Dragon Con Gothic Track, Tiffany, Mad Dog and the WHOLE Ops crew for making things run so
smoothly behind the scenes, Peter Miller from the Hyatt Security Staff (good luck on the exam!),
Dragon Con TV and the sound and video department in the Regency Ballroom for all your
time and effort. It's greatly appreciated.

We got to hang out with quite a few of our HORROR peers like Ghoultown, Belle Morte and
Calabrese (All great folks who work well with others, have great bands and great attitudes)
True professionals and class acts. I also finally met Gris Grimly (artist extraodinare) who
was mad cool and offered to work with us on some new art (which I plan to take him up on!)
Haloscript had the booth right behind us and although they are not horror rock per se they are
some damn cool peeps!

Extra Special thanks to Voltaire for reasons too numerous to mention.

Mauricio kicked ass as the 5th member of our family, doing merch, taking
pictures, promoting and generally keeping everything running smoothly.

Thanks to David Spence for taking so many great shots of the live show in the ballroom and helping out in general. Truly a friend.

Sorry if we forgot anybody - please don't be offended - this weekend we reaped the
whirlwind!

Now with all that said here's the rundown (from G's Perspective ;-)):

Friday:

I got there early and started setting up the Merch booth and the guys arrived a bit later in the afternoon. They went over to get some rest at the hotel (after a grueling 14 hour drive that started at 10pm Thursday night) while I finished setting everything up after load-in. People were already well into a good time and showing off costumes etc etc. A few hours later everyone came back, the booth was set up, we had a few beers and Mauricio and the guys went off to see Voltaire play while I watched the booth.
Everyone said Voltaire was in top form, but I had promised Mauricio he could, go so I personally missed it. I wanted to see Bella Morte because I had never seen them live, but someone had to look after the "biz". After meeting Belle Morte, I will definitely be at thier next NYC show to give them some love. Since Glenn was also playing with Voltaire on this trip, he played a total of 3 days out of 4! Thank god he loves what he does! Afterwards we partied a little bit, closed the booth and then
went back to the hotel. A mighty long day for everyone and I have to give my bandmates and Mauricio a
lot of love for their perseverance and endurance.

Saturday:

With Mauricio firmly entrenched in the booth, I went off to sit on a 10am (can you believe it?) panel called "Zombie 101" which was PACKED and was a 1 hour discussion just on Zombies! I was in heaven. I got back to the booth and we hung out all day signing merch for people and shooting the breeze. At about 3:30 we moved up the the Hyatt Concourse to do our first ever acoustic set with Gregor Kitzis (violinist with Voltaire among other things) sitting in for about 5 of 9 songs. The crowd was good and we even had John De Lancie (aka "Q" from Star Trek Next Generation) watch most of our set! That was a big thing for Frank and I (acknowledged Trek nerds). The crowd ate it up, young and old, and a lot of folks came down to our booth after to let us know how much they enjoyed it.

The setlist was:
Antennae
Silver Bullet
When She's Undead
Tonight
Zombie Bride
All Around Me
Horrorhead
Monster Kids
Cemetery Man

I think the response was so good that we have talked to Gregor about getting together to record some of this stuff in the near future! After that I ran to sit on another panel on Zombies (heaven again) and then sat on a panel about Horror Rock with members of Ghoultown and Bella Morte (who had the crowd in stitches) that was really great fun. Later that night we went to see Ghoultown (who put a great set of Texas-twang horror rock complete with a mariachi style trumpet) and I manned the booth for Mauricio to go and check out another band he wanted to see. After he got back we all hung out, then went to a late night private party for some drinks.

Sunday - (THE BIG DAY):

After we nursed our hangovers and got some food, we all hung out at the booth promoting the
main show later that night and signing merch for people (a little weird - but fun). We met fans that
had come from all over to see us (some as far as California, Tennessee and Florida) and it felt good to get a direct, physical confirmation that people so diverse, and from all over, enjoy our music so much. I rushed off to sit on another music panel at about 5:30pm with Rogue and from Cruxshadows which turned into a slightly spirited, but good discussion on music. Back to the hotel and then back to the Regency for soundcheck. After that I met up with Andy a long time friend, who's helping us with publicity on The Superhuman Monster show CD, which was awesome. I've known him for many years and finally, after all this time, I got to meet him in person. He's the man. Then before you know it, midnight had arrived and it was time to take the Regency Ballroom stage. The kids in the front were giving us a lot of love and as we started the first song the room began to fill up! By the third song (X-Ray Eyes) the room was nicely packed and Voltaire came up on stage to sing back-ups (one of two songs that night as he also sang on Cemetery Man),and we had gotten the momentum rolling. We ended up doing a nice 40 minute set which we filmed. After Calabrese played a crazy, great set, the ballroom became the "rave room" and we went to a private room party with some of the members of Ghoultown. When that party broke I ended up hanging out with some folks that I had met earlier in the evening and having a few more drinks.

The setlist was:

Destroy Your World
Stay Awake
X-Ray Eyes
The Superhuman Monstershow
When She's Undead
Crematorium Operator
Calling All Monster Kids!
Zombie Bride
Make Sure That I'm Dead
Hell California
Cemetery Man
Wolf's Breath
Satana

More pictures in the photo gallery soon!

A special note for me on this evening: I ran into my friends Beau and Sally whom I haven't
seen for about 5 years (the last time I was at Dragon Con) and got to spend some time with them
(although it was WAY too little of an amount). We had lost touch and the fact that I saw them was a
special capper on my evening. It was great to see them happy, healthy and looking just the same as I
remember them.

I have to honestly say we couldn't have had a better time if we tried.
