August 27, 2009 - Thursday
It is with great disappointment that we announce the Deviation Carnival Session has been cancelled by the authorities. Due to a situation beyond our control, our planned event for Sunday 30th August with DJ Zinc, MJ Cole, Zed Bias and Benji B will not longer be taking place at The Tabernacle in Powis Square W11 and will now be moved to our regular home at Gramaphone on Wednesday 2nd September.

The original agreement with the police for venues in the borough of Kensington & Chelsea was that the finish time for indoor events happening after Carnival curfew was 11pm, with venues having to clear out by 11.30pm.  The Tabernacle had approval from the council and police, and of course is a fully licensed live events venue. The police then called a meeting with the Tabernacle less than a week before our scheduled date to put a blanket curfew on all events happening in the Powis Square area after 7pm due to 'safety concerns'.  They then threatened the Tabernacle with taking away their license altogether if they failed to comply.  We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment this may cause but it seems that everything happens for a reason and as a result we have some good news too:

We will be inviting DJ Zinc (Back to ’94 Jungle set) and Zed Bias (UK Garage Classics Set) to our regular session at Gramaphone this Wednesday 2nd September 09 for a special Deviation After-Carnival After-Party!

DJ ZINC is undoubtedly a legend in the UK music scene. With a career as a DJ and producer, throughout the genres of Jungle, House and Garage, his 1995 anthem ‘Super Sharp Shooter’ still has a devastating effect on the dancefloor and not to mention the classic ‘138 Trek’ tune from 2000 that he's currently mixed down to ‘128 Trek’. In the last few years DJ Zinc has been playing only house sets, but for this special occasion he will be dusting off the dub-plates and spinning a rare 'back to '94' Jungle set especially for the Deviation family. On our bespoke sound system this is a rare opportunity you don't want to miss.

Renowned as both as a producer and a DJ in the UK garage scene, ZED BIAS also releases material under the pseudonym Maddslinky and has musical taste that spreads far and wide. Known best for his huge single ‘Neighbourhood’ from '99, it has seen several remixes for an 09 re-release by Roska, Chimpo and MJ Cole that will soon be released on 12”. Working on remixes for the likes of Gabrielle, Kosheen, Maxim, Pharoahe Monch and the Streets, he’s also been releasing under his own label Sidestepper Recordings. Ready to spin a few new exclusives, Zed has mainly been dusting off the special dubs from back in the day for a rare old school set that will be undoubtedly be re-wind overload.

We can't wait for what is undoubtedly going to be a legendary session in the basement.  When we strongly advise you to get down early to avoid disappointment on the door we mean it - if you have been locked outside at any of our sessions over the last few months you know.  These DJs are playing very rare old school sets especially for this night so we anticipate it to be rammed.  It will be first come first served so please don't leave it too late.

DEVIATION AFTER-CARNIVAL AFTER-PARTY -  WITH SPECIAL GUESTS DJ ZINC (BACK TO ’94 JUNGLE SET), ZED BIAS (UK GARAGE CLASSICS SET) & RESIDENT DJ BENJI B ALONGSIDE HOST MC JUDAH.

May 13, 2009 - Wednesday
It is with great disappointment and many apologies that we announce that tonight’s event, Deviation at Fabric (featuring Madlib and J Rocc), has had to be rescheduled. Due to passport issues, Madlib was unable to catch a flight in time for tonight – as a result, the event has now been moved to TUESDAY, 19 MAY. Tickets (including the half-price tickets we gave away) are valid for the rescheduled show, but Fabric can also offer full refunds if necessary.

We sincerely apologise for the many inconveniences and disappointment this may cause you.

For more information, please contact info@fabriclondon.com or call the Fabric office on 0207 336 8898.
