Just returned recently from Charleston, SC.  I was there for a show sponsored by WEZL, and it was a good'un!  Lee Ann Womack, Richie McDonald, Jimmy Wayne, Lee Brice and yours truely played an unplugged show for about 1700 people at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.  Dang, those artists can sing!  I was honored to be a part of it and send a special thanks to TJ @ the station, and his compadres - Gary and Ric.  There are pics and even some song clips @ wezl.com.

Hello, friends!  As you've figured out over the past 16 months or so, I'm a poor manager of my myspace page!  My apologies to those of you who've left messages or communicated in some way and I have failed to respond.  I am indeed a slow learner . . . and combine that with my procrastination skills and lack of computer prowess, and you have a recipe for exactly what hasn't gone on on my page over time!  Enough with the excuses, already!
Well, I wanted to give y'all the heads-up that billymontana.com is finally up and running, and I am truly attempting to be diligent about updating it regularly so anyone interested in shows, or whatever's going on in my professional life, will have access to that information.  The "farm" theme of the website is because, even though I love my work as a singer/songwriter, I'll never lose my affection for farming.
Anyway, you're up to speed and I hope some of you will visit the website and I hope to see you at a show or 2 somewhere.  Also hope '09 is a great year for us all!
Many blessings,
Billy

GRAMMY WINNER BRENT MAHER & MORAINE MUSIC WRITERS SUPPORT MUSIC THERAPY PROGRAM AT VANDERBILT CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WITH PERFORMANCE AT
BLUEBIRD CAFÉ OCTOBER 11, 9:00 PM

Nashville, Tenn., October 4, 2007…… Five-time Grammy award winner Brent Maher and Moraine Music writers Billy Montana, Mark Selby, Jenai, and Johnny Reid will perform at Nashville's Bluebird Café October 11 at 9:00 pm. Tickets are $15 and support the music therapy program at Vanderbilt's Children's Hospital.

Part of a three-day series at the Bluebird, 100% of proceeds go directly to the music therapy program which supports children by helping them with self-expression, verbalization of feelings through song lyrics, aiding in relaxation and pain management, and supporting rehabilitation efforts to help them reach their fine motor, gross motor and speech goals.

Brent Maher, CEO/Moraine Music Group, is well known for his work with the Judds and has over 20 number one singles, numerous top ten singles and a wide array of platinum and multi-platinum selling albums. Maher's songwriting credits include "Why Not Me," "Girls Night Out," "Lesson In Leavin'" and many others. Maher, who strongly supports the Vanderbilt Music program, is picking up his guitar for a rare local performance.

Critically acclaimed singer/songwriter and New York native Billy Montana's number one credits include Garth Brooks' record breaking single, "More Than A Memory," Sara Evans's smash "Suds in the Bucket," and the Grammy nominated, "Bring on the Rain," recorded by Jo Dee Messina.

Writer Mark Selby penned the breakthrough 1 smash "There's Your Trouble" for the Dixie Chicks along with a string of hits for Kenny Wayne Shepherd, including "Deja Voodoo," "Slow Ride," and "Blue on Black," which was number one for 17 weeks and named Billboard's Mainstream Rock Track of the Year.

Jenai's song "Suds In The Bucket," recorded by Sara Evans, became a 1 smash and 2004's Most Performed Song by a female artist with additional songs recorded by Martina McBride and others.

Scottish-born writer/artist, Johnny Reid, has been described as a blue-collar soul singer. Reid was awarded Canada's Top honors at the last two CCMA Awards winning 2006 "Rising Star" for best new artist, and 2007 "Top Male Vocalist" of the year.
