I am thrilled to tell you about my new comedy club, located at Universal City Walk in Universal City, Hollywood, California!!!

We had our grand opening, May 28, 2009.

It's upstairs at a place called City Loft.  The club has three floors, three bars, seats about 500 people.

And, it has the feel of Hawaii, complete with a backdrop of Waikiki and palm trees and beach huts, all in a set designed by Bruce Ryan, one of the top set designers in Hollywood.

The club is also decorated with 15 paintings by the great Hawaiian artist, Wyland.  He is known all over the world for his giant murals of whales, called "The Whaling Walls."  He has done 1OO of them, from Hawaii, to San Diego to China!!!

We have great food, a great atmosphere, great comedians and a great sound system.

Check out the club on our website:

Hope to see you there!!!

Well, I don't know everything about acting, but I've learned alot working the last twenty years. I know alot of you aspire to be professional actors and comedians. And I believe the point of life is to learn everything you can, and teach others what you've learned. So, if you have any questions you'd like me to answer, please write to this blog and I will answer you with the best advice I can give you. I've pretty much done everything in performing, from movies (comedy and drama, studio movies and independents), to television (sitcoms as a regular and guest star to one hour dramas as a recurring character) to Broadway, to stand up comedy, to voice overs in movies, cartoons and commercials, acting in commercials, to singing on a record, singing at Carnegie Hall. Oh, and writing and performing in sketch comedy (The Groundlings Improv group in Los Angeles and Saturday Night Live) So, let me know and I'll post my answers here on this blog. And good luck to all of you.

2005 has been a good year. I did a cameo in the musical version of "The Producers" starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick. Then I did a movie called "The Benchwarmers" starring Rob Schneider, David Spade and Jon Heder (Napolean Dynamite). I play Mel the Billionaire. I sponser a baseball tournament called "Mel's Tournament of Little Leaguers and Three Older Guys". It's really funny and silly. And Rob, David and Jon Heder are hilarious. If you like comedy, you'll like this movie. Now, I'm making a movie called "Southland Tales". It stars the Rock, Sean William Scott, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Cheri Oteri, Nora Dunn, Angelica Houston, Oliver Stone, etc. Oh, and me. It's written and directed by Richard Kelly. He wrote and directed "Donnie Darko". This movie has everything. I can't talk about it, but if you liked "Donnie Darko", you'll love this.

Had my first show I headlined. (By myself. In the past, I've co-headlined with Norm MacDonald). It was at the Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. Jokoy opened for me. He was hilarious. Then it was my turn. Had them laughing for about forty minutes. Then, nothing. For about fifteen minutes, I did jokes that always get a laugh and they just stared at me. What's going on, I thought. I started to sweat. Keep going, I thought. I'm getting paid, I better finish the rest of my act. Suddenly, it occured to me the air conditioning was off. It felt like it was about 90 degrees up on stage. "Are you guys really hot?" I asked. "Yeah", came the answer, slow and dreary like. So, I went into the music portion of my show. And slowly, I got the audience back. Well, most of them, anyway. Afterward, one woman came backstage. I said, "I don't know why the audience stopped laughing". And said to me, "Well, you had the unfortunate experience of following someone who was hilarious". Hmmm.... Well, I guess the show wasn't a total loss. Thank God for Jokoy!!!
