Kimo are the name change for Eskimo
With the likes of eskimo squad, eskimo joe and a dozen techno bands called eskimo the band decided to give up the fight and change names. They initially opted for Kimo Joe, or Kimo squad, but then shortened it to Kimo, cos they're lazy.

Their new album discovertigo could have been called 'therapy' (kimo therapy) for the amount of time it took them to write and record it. Mayes breaking his hand in a bizzare luggage accident pushed the project toward a sparcer open approach compared to 2004's dense guitar layered Loverbatim album. It consists of 10 new works, a concept album of sorts. After getting the dirty rock thing out of their system with the middle part of their last album Rob as producer decided to work on the bands more melodic pretty elements and culled out the 10 smoothest tunes from over 20. Lush strings, introspective vocals and a mid tempo throb permeates the album, in an lush yet open production.

David and me have started work on the follow up to Loverbatim. Initally titled 'use your illusion III" we changed that when we found out some other band had used the titles use your illusion one and 2, and we didn't want you to associate our completely independent work with their corporate unitshifting turd piles.
Dave fancies deatheatre as a title, and we've written 10 songs for it. Michael was unavailable for the 2 weeks we were recording in feb march 2006 so we did it with drum loops. I'd also broken a finger so the whole sound if it has been one of moody pace and restrained performance. I totally love it. we're doing our second sessions on it over easter and it should be finished not too soon after.

eskimo is david mulcahy, rob mayes, and michael daly, making music. its exactly the kind of music you'd expect from us if you konw any of the bands we've been in.
David's been in jean paul satre experience, superette, and raygunn, rob's been in dolphin, throw, springloader, and michael's been in yfc, leadleg, and is also in the renderers.
We've released one album called loverbatim, in september 2004. it was pretty dense melodic and rock.
